I have both sets. The newer set is more modern and faster I think. Definitely harder but I love them.

I have done the step by step and the Activate dvd from the new set. I found them easy to follow along to as a beginner. I am not saying that they were "easy" but the steps used, at least the ones in the Activate dvd, were ones that if you could not do the full steps, you could still do the base steps (side step, foot taps, etc.) to the tempo. I also have the older transformation set (I got both sets at the same time so I am learning them both at the same time) and done the basic steps and the 20 min quick workout from that set. I did not find the quick workout to be as easy to keep up with. Again, I do not mean easy as in it being easy, but the ease in which to do modifications without feeling overwhelmed. I do admit though that the 20 minute workout from the transformation set was not the "beginner workout" while the activate one from exhilaration is, so it might be an unfair comparison.

I just saw the infomercial last night for the new zumba dvds. Was wondering how they were? compared to the old ones? I bought the old ones but never got into them. I LOVE my Zumba class. but I saw a few of the new ones I might be interested in.

What's your opinions? I don't have the $90 to buy the new set, but would still like to know how they are. Maybe I will find an instructor who will get them for me at a discounted price :)
