Sunday: The weather was gorgeous yesterday. Got the lawn mowed and clean up done. Hoping the mowing can go every 2 weeks now.

Just going to tackle the guest bedroom today and my office. That’ll be enough of the deep cleaning for today.

Hugs and Blessings on your Sunday.

Tuesday: Rain overnight, and boomers this morning. We need the rain! Not as warm today, but near or @ 90 tomorrow. Looks like it may cool down on the weekend after some rain.

Oh my gosh, the whole situation in Kenosha is so upsetting! My heavens. Not only was that guy shot in the back, but he had 3 kids in the back seat of the car. **SIGH** People have lost their minds, I think.

Let’s make Tuesday terrific.

Friday: Well, Karleigh left Wednesday night, but not without acting like a witch. I am just dumbstruck. She absolutely trashed the apartment, including 2 holes in the wall. *SIGH* John got to be alone w/Ry for a moment and he told John that she and her ‘male friend’ were making out. Are you flippin’ serious! A 7 yr. old should not be exposed to nor know about such a thing. It is just unthinkable that a mother could expose her child to that. You know, innocence is lost so early anyhow. **SIGH** Our hearts are just so devastated.

Jason and I will now leave for Mayo on the 14th September as he needs to have a covid test. Still same schedule w/the neurologist and neurosurgeon and surgery will be on the 17th. We will know tomorrow what the surgery is that will be planned.

So, that was yesterday. HOPING today has a light @ the end of the tunnel!

Have a wonderful Friday!

Got this from a friend. It's a hoot!

Everyone PLEASE be careful because people are going crazy from being locked down at home!

I was just talking about this with the microwave and the toaster while drinking my coffee, and we all agreed that things are getting bad.

I didn’t mention any of this to the washing machine, because she puts a different spin on EVERYTHING!! Certainly couldn’t share with the fridge, cause he’s been acting cold and distant!

In the end, the iron straightened me out! She said the situation isn’t all that pressing and all the wrinkles will soon get ironed out!

The vacuum, however, was very unsympathetic…told me to just suck it up buttercup! But the fan was VERY optimistic and gave me hope that it will all blow over soon!

The toilet looked a bit flushed but didn’t say anything when I asked its opinion, but the front door said I was becoming unhinged and the doorknob told me to get a grip!! You can just about guess what the curtains told me: they told me to “pull myself together!”

We will survive!!

Tuesday: Quiet day yesterday. Just what I needed.

Still lots of drama going on w/John, but don’t have details. Just spoke w/John several times yesterday and listened. So sad for him. Just sad.

Getting our flu shots today. I want there to be enough time before surgery that we both have immunity started.

No big plans for today.

HUGS and terrific Tuesday.

Happy Tuesday!

It's been good morning running weather for the last three days and I've been enjoying it. This is my last "free" (which, I'm teaching two classes now, so not really) week before I'm "back to work" officially for Fall. Then Fall classes start on Aug 31st, mostly online, but I'm teaching a lab two nights a week. I'm glad, I think I'm ready, should be exciting!

Praying that things lighten up for John . . . . such a difficult thing to go through.

It does indeed just keep on for you, huh! Well all the hugs and best of luck to you and your family.

I'm mostly just doing what I'm doing, which is currently teaching two online classes, one that is just starting and one that will end in a week, and then starting regular full time classes again in two weeks. Coming up quick!

I went for a nice long run yesterday while I had the time, 17.5 miles! While I was putting on sunscreen at mile 11.5 I got stung by a bee! Fortunately, it wasn't bad, and I just kept going. It hurt some yesterday, and today it itches. I'm hoping it's practically gone by tomorrow. Good think I'm not allergic!

Saturday: Just arrived home. Return to Mayo on 16 September for a consultation pre-op w/the neurologist and the neurosurgeon. He had an EMG yesterday that showed the radial plexus is impinged. So, treatment plan has to be formulated. Surgery (whatever they plan) will be on 17 September. My brain is abuzz!!!

HUGS

OHhhhhh, by the end of yesterday, the pair of us were EXHAUSTED digesting all the information.

Yes, we are very confident in this surgeon. He was NOT afraid to consult w/the neurologist. Here . . . . that would take weeks. Or longer. IF at all.

Anyhow, the EMG (a test that looks @ the nerve conduction between the spine and the areas of the body) identified a problem w/the radial plexus, a bundle of nerves in the shoulder that the spine uses to send signals to the arms, and hands. That certainly explains Jas’ symptoms to a “T”. So the suspicion is that is the puppy that is ‘trapped’. The neurologist and neurosurgeon are going to consult to come up with the surgical plan. We’ll leave on 15 September, consultation/pre-op work up on the 16th and surgery on the 17th. Then it will be 2-3 days in hospital.

We already booked the room @ the hotel we stayed for 6 nights. Can always cancel if need be. And it’s comfortable. And my OB Mom, who made it clear, I was to spend some time visiting w/her just for some ‘comic relief’. So, I’ll follow her orders.

Gorgeous weather – till we arrived home! Now it’s storming. Glad it waited till we got home!

Bad news – Karleigh and John broke up. Very difficult situation that led to that decision, but it’s for the best. We are all absolutely heartbroken, as Karleigh and Ry are going back to Alaska. I think Jas and I, and John, are pretty numb, but this all has to be worked out between John and Karleigh. **SIGH**

Just never ends, does it. Praying for the hearts to heal. And poor Ry is in the middle of it all. That really breaks my heart.

Friday: Appt. w/the neurosurgeon was this morning @ 7:45 am. Jas may need another test. IF he does, we’ll stay another night. IF NOT we’ll leave shortly after his appointment. We’ll find out if he needs surgery or not. Suspecting yes, but they’re the experts, for sure.

DID get to see the OB Mom again ) whose baby I helped deliver) yesterday after Jas’ last appointment. It was wonderful. We visited in her back yard. She and DH are in the same house they were in when I was a student nurse. We had such a nice visit. She showed me pictures from Christmas of the boys and their families. LORD! THEIR kids are growing up fast! Colleen is such a very sweet lady.

Should be nice weather for travel today and tomorrow (some chance of storms, but 20%)

HUGS and TGIF. Been a L-O-N-G week.

UPDATE: Met w/the neurosurgeon this morning. We will return in September for another neurology appt., meet w/the surgeon so we can go over the surgery plan, which will be done the next day. The neurologist will help the neurosurgeon plan the surgery approach. Surgery is scheduled on 17 September.

Well, sort of what I suspected. The neurosurgeon is less dire about things, BUT Jas will have surgery. Have an EMG this afternoon. That will identify the specific nerve(s) involved. So, that information will be used in his pre-op work up to formulate the surgical plan.

So we will stay the night and travel home tomorrow.

We will return in September for another neurology appt., meet w/the surgeon so we can go over the surgery plan, which will be done the next day. The neurologist will help the neurosurgeon plan the surgery approach.

The way it is right now, we will leave on 15 September, see the neurologist and neurosurgeon on 16 September. Surgery would be on 17 September.

That’s all I know right now. My brain is literally empty! We will stay tonight and take off early in the morning tomorrow.

Good luck on your trip!

I'm taking a bit of a "get everything else done" day to catch up on errands and around the house instead of online class stuff. I'll have to get back to the online class stuff soon, but I've still got some time, so I'm not in panic mode yet.

I am, so far, generally sticking to my eating earlier schedule. Only a little bit hungry in the evening, but I grab a beverage and I'm good. Today I'll be a bit more off because of running 5:30-7:30, but I'll just have nut butter.

Happy Monday! I just had a very productive Monday in terms of classes I'm currently teaching and my ones that are coming up soon, so that's great! I was super in the zone and my husband came in and tried to talk to me, and I was like, oh no you don't! I ended up with my headphones on and blasting some Beethoven. It works.

I haven't quite stuck out my early eating window yet (I'm trying to close it out by 4pm) but I'm hoping to get it today. It is definitely an adjustment since I'm usually snacking or something through 8pm. I will probably also need to adjust on Wednesday because I run in the evening.

Happy Sunday morning! Hanging on the church zoom waiting for folks to show for tech run-through.

I did 13 miles yesterday, just kind of kept going! Nice and slow most of it, but a few good hills.

Trying to makes some changes to my eating schedule to finish eating earlier in the day. This is probably going to drive my husband nuts, but I'm planning to make dinner each night, and then save my portion for the next day. I'll figure it out.

Have a good day!

Hello! Caught the edge of Isaias of this week, which actually worked out for us, because we got needed rain and cooler weather, and no wind! Rainy again today. So nice to be sitting with the fans on and feel chilly!

Been doing lots of chopping, freezing, and other prepping with my farm share lately. Now I have a whole head of cabbage, so maybe I'll try sauerkraut! I've got a kombucha culture going as well. Really feeling the local foods this season.

Crock pot roasts for days are my favorite! Although, my last Boston Butt took us over a week to completely finish, and my husband was like, pork again!

Got the floors done yesterday after I got home from our appointments. Felt good to get that done.

Hugs and wonderful Wednesday.

Tuesday: Well, gray, cool day yesterday. Sun is out today, slightly warmer. Actually does feel good, though.

Today is a rest day – no appointments. So will catch up on laundry and cleaning since Fifi the maid quit. Oh well

Here’s to a terrific Tuesday.

Hugs

Monday: Well, we had some downpours yesterday, then a gentle rain. Needed the rain. The grass is greened up again. Areas south of us, though, got 5 in. of rain and are having flash flooding! Apparently the rain trained over the same areas. Sorry for them, but glad it wasn’t us.

Jas has PT this morning, so gotta get scooting.

HUGS and have a motivated Monday!

Sunday: Quiet day. Supposed to rain, we’ll see.

Such lovely weather yesterday! Wish it could be like that all year round!

HUGS and blessings on your Sunday.

Saturday: Another take out day. That’s all right. We’re gonna zoom later.

Looks like it’s going to be nice today, rain tomorrow. We can use a little.

And a small victory! Got an e-mail that “due to neighborhood concerns”, the community garage sale is cancelled till 2021. Well, now, who says one person can’t make a difference! Maybe the state dept. of health intervened. Never did hear back from them. Whatever! Glad for the decision.

HUGS and enjoy Saturday!
