Like SACHABEE said listen to your body that is the best thing you can do. There are times when I am sick that I can get through a workout and there are other times I just can't and I know not to. Good Luck. Hope you are feeling better.

I usually push and try and do a workout. And USUALLY I feel SO MUCH Better afterwards almost like I sweated it out.
But a few weeks ago, I was really bad. But the workouts schedule I had has 1 rest day and 1 day of yoga so those are the 2 days I did rest! The one workout was pretty hard to do, but I tried my best, cause in the past I always felt better.

Personally I don't workout if I feel really ill - say with a head cold or congested chest. I have made the mistake many times in the past of trying to work through an illness, only to regret it later and then take even longer to get properly better.

I have carried on working out if it's just something like a niggly throat or ear infection, but even then I have to be very careful and try to do something less intense than I usually would.

I think it is best to go with how you feel - the "above the neck, below the neck" rule I would imagine is just a general guide - the best judge is yourself.

I have the very beginning signs of a flu right now (very coincidental timing). Today I did my workout but decreased the intensity a little.

My immune system seems stronger since I started eating better and exercising. A lot of the time my body can fight something off without a lot of down time.

But, if I feel really sick, or it lingers then I'll take a few days off completely to give my body a chance to focus solely on fighting off illness.

Someday is today!

A lot of times I feel better after a Work out when I am sick. I think everybody should just listen to their bodies and do what feels right. :)

I know Jillian says that if your symptoms are above the neck it's ok to work out but if they're below then don't. What do you guys think? I've never worked out while being sick because I think you're body does need to completely rest... but I wanted to see what others think about this.

I'm sick right now, so that's why this question popped into my head!
