I plan on it of course, but it's taking time and I feel like if I make it with the few years I have left then my family won't have to buy me a plus-sized casket.

Know that I am not anyone else's perception. I am simply *ME*

I think that is the best! That is what I want too. Something that I could see myself living with for the rest of my life, a healthy lifestyle change, not drastic starving, depriving changes that would lead to maybe binges or other unhealthy things.

Yes, sometimes older women who become too thin look "bad" because their skin doesn't fit anymore. I don't want to get there, just be healthy. Would be glad to be out of plus sizes, and I'm down some, but I'm hoping to go down more. I'd take a 14-18 size if I'm healthy.

Some women--and men--choose to become thin through drastic measures/choices and then they can't live with, can't maintain those choices, can't sustain those loses. I'm choosing a lifestyle change and choosing to do what I can live with. I think that will last for me.

Yeah, my smaller sizes were before I had my pelvis busted in a bad car accident. My pelvis area swelled up after that I couldn't fit into a lot of my clothes. Ended up wearing wrap around skirts, elastic sweat pants and shorts after that. I never got back to the 5's except a couple of times when I got really sick with chest and sinus and other infections a few times after that. And had troubles eating and keeping food down. I didn't like being that skinny any more. I didn't feel healthy then, too sick and weak. And I think that would be the only way to get back down there would be to hardly eat. I don't feel like starving myself to get back down there. Most people were saying I looked to thin back then any ways. I am fine with the 12/14, I could do a 10 too, but nothing smaller. I just don't want to look that thin.

Exactly JM The smaller sizes were a long time ago and to get down that small now at this older age I agree. I've seen older women do it and they look out of sorts; bodies to small for their heads sort of thing Sono I won't be going any smaller than a 12/14 and I'm perfectly fine with that.

I am 58 years old, and I am between size 12 & 14, just depends on the cut and brand of clothing, I weigh 158 pounds. In 2013 when I started SP, I was in the 14's and feeling like I was going to need to go to 16's and didn't want to do that. Instead I just wore my elastic 14's and starting losing weight. I got down to 10's and 12's, and 140 pounds shortly after starting SP in 2013. But had a lot of health set backs and put some of the weight back on. I worked some of it back off and got back to where my 12's & 14's fit good. I had more health problems and went back to work too. So I just got comfortable in my 12's & 14's, and just started trying to maintain instead of worrying about losing. And I have managed that for several yrs now. Even with more and more health issues coming up.

If I got back down to my 10's and 12's, that would be fine, but I am not pushing for it. Right now I am just trying to keep from having more issues with my liver, kidney and gallbladder, and other health issues, instead of worrying about losing.

I have no intention of trying to get back down to a 5 or 8 any more. It was way to long ago and way before so many health issues that I was that size. I just don't see it happening again.

I am maintaining at 158.0 lately, and I am short, around 5' 2" or so.

I'm curious as to how many of the Plus Sized or larger ladies ever really plan on getting out of the double-digit sizes? Perhaps just smaller and healthier but still curvy?

At 57, I'm a size 18 but right now my feeling is that if I get down to a 12/14 I'd be quite comfortable at that size going into my senior years.
