WOOT! WOOT! It's the to it and at it weekend! I now have everything to work in my yards this weekend! Flower planting in planters and beds, Putting up new flowerbed edgings and reworking a lawn and planting new grass both front and back yards!
We're all ready to go!

TODAY Is MY tomorrow. It's up to ME to shape it, To TAKE CONTROL and seize EVERY opportunity. The POWER is in the choices I make EVERY day. I eat well, I live well I SHAPE ME!

Good morning ladies!

Yes, because of what seems to be my need for salt. That is the first thing I check on labels. That and sugar.
It used to be that the required salt levels or sodium levels were something like 3500 now they've cut that to less than half, 1500 and I still try and keep my daily intake to below that even when my body craves it.

RETIREESMITH, I've found as I've gotten older that restaurant food is loaded with salt or sugar. If it's like brine I send it back and choose something else. Once I went to a buffet and they had poured actual granulated sugar on top of the big bowl of Caesar salad. Seems we have to check everything we put into our mouths these days. Like you, I didn't grow up with much salt and the only thing we used sugar for when I was young was a tsp. in our coffee. My family was so poor that sugar was a luxury. As for salt, My father would say, you can put it in but you can't take it out. I never use the salt shaker anymore and have to check pre-packaged foods for the bad stuff. Strange how my tastebuds have changed because there are so many foods I no longer care for.

I grew up with very little salt--mother on a low-salt diet, so never got used to it. Often, when we eat out, I'm not able to finish something because I think it is too salty. My husband doesn't find it so. When I cook, I often omit salt or use 1/2 what is called for. I realize in some things I need to use salt for chemical balance, but that's only time.

Mine is sweets! I parcel out cookies for my after-meal finish. Need to use fruit more often, and we're coming into the time of year that'll happen.

I've developed a lot of good habits over the years. I still have a few not so good habits that need honing but If there was one not so good habit I'd pinpoint it would be giving in to salt cravings.
I still reach for my salty processed cheezies
