Hi... I'm new to this team :)

I've lost 3.2 lbs since starting WW on Monday morning emoticon
...
Now, I know thats too much too soon... but I do remember WW telling me (years ago, when I went to it back in 2001)
that the first couple weeks you could see big losses....
then it should go down to 1 - 2 lbs a week.

WW and I were very successful back in 2001.... HOPE we are again! :)

I love water too.... drink 8-10 a day.

Sunday night has come again so quickly! where did the weekend go!?!?!?!

Looking ahead to a fresh new OP week --- didn't get my pot of low point soup made yet - but will take care of that in the morning. I like to start with that every Monday b/c it gives me something to heat up quickly in a food emergency! I'm also cutting up melon --- got watermelon and cantaloupe and they are really tasting good already! And oranges --- they have suddenly become more flavorful -- woohoo!!! love them!

Hope everyone is doing well --- keep the focus!

Weigh to go Shirley on that first week's WI ---- you GOT this!!!!

Hi WW Peeps! I tried the Simple Start, but to be honest, I was so used to tracking that I ended up tracking everything anyway.

I go to meetings & have my fearless leader's email addy so if anyone has a question we cannot answer, let me know, be happy to get an answer!

I am excited. I joined a facebook group for walking that has a monthly calendar with a challenge every day. I think it is exactly what I need to get moving more.

We can do it!

Hi everyone,

I just started the Simple Start on Sunday SDGRL. It's going pretty well. Lots of vegetables and filling foods. I am using the recipes that are provided with the program. Are you doing it online? There is also an app on your phone with the menus and details. I'm enjoying how simple and easy the meals are to fix, it's been a real eye opener for me in terms of serving size and different options then always having to have meat with a meal. My dh is eating the same dinner I make for me, I sometimes add something extra to his though to help fill him up. You have 7 extra points a day to add on each day to have an extra teaspoon of margarine or peanut butter or even something sweet; so I'm not feeling deprived. The first 3 days were the hardest for me, but it's getting better. I'm trying to work my way up to 8 glasses of water everyday, that's been the hardest thing for me this week.

Good Luck! Let me know if you want to do it together or have any other questions. I will try and answer them for you. I've done WW before but have never done the simple start part, so it's new to me too and sometimes I wish I had a meeting to ask questions in.

Kim --- so sorry to read about your foot pain --- I have suffered with chronic bursitis in both Achilles Tendons and know what you're talking about - pain in the feet is truly the biggest pain in the butt!!!! (excuse my bluntness --- but it truly, truly is!!!!) Like Blanche, I think a trip to the podiatrist might become necessary -- we have 2 teachers at school who have planter fasciitis and after going to podiatrist and getting orthotics and/or recommended shoe type, both found amazing relief! I have also found some relief from wearing the right kind of shoes -- and fortunately we live in a time that having feet problems doesn't mean you have to wear ugly shoes! There are so many stylish ortho-type shoes out there -- so thankful for that!

Shirley --- glad you found your answer! I know what you mean about the info on the WW site being overwhelming at first -- but it will become easier as you find things -- there's just SO much to read - but it's good that you have all that's there when you are needing it! You did the best thing you could do - take some time and really "work" the site --- loved reading that you got your grocery list in order ------ that's the big one! You gotta have it available if you're gonna eat it!!! Keep us posted on your WW website progress - and always ask b/c someone may just know!!!

Hope everyone is having an awesome OP weekend! If you didn't join the MOTIVATIONAL mini challenge for this weekend, I just posted a great website dedicated to motivation for weight loss --- here is the link:

@Kim I also have Plantar Fasciitis. I ended up going to a podiatrist who was wonderful! I now have orthotics and NO PAIN!!!! You may want to try that. I was amazed at what she did for me. I also got a steroid injection into my heel to help the pain/inflammation go away quicker and it did!!! The injection was not really painful, just uncomfortable for a few seconds... and so worth it! I would do it again in a heartbeat!!

I really upped my walking and even tried Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. I managed 2 days of it, but need to work on not doing both in the same day as I became so sore I could barely move! I'll try to start it again next week. The walking I really enjoy.. now basically pain free with the exception of some blisters! LOL The weather is getting beautiful! On Thursday, my hubby and I went kayaking... and we were supposed to go bike riding yesterday, but it ended up raining ALL day! Bummer. I will have my munchkins later today. I should have walked this morning, but woke up and realized all of my workout clothes were dirty, so took a break to do some laundry! It's the little things, ya know?

Welcome Shirley! I need to do simple start now to get my weight loss going again. I seem to be stuck the past couple of weeks. My foot hurt so bad yesterday I could hardly walk on it. Sure enough it's plantar fasciitis, so I have to stay off it until it isn't so aggravated. I'm going to adjust what I eat and I can still lift weights so it's all good.

I did find my answer Jane, thanks for you input. It is fruits and vegetables and yes potatoes and sweet potatoes are included in a few recipes. I'm trying to do it online. I'm just overwhelmed with all the information.

I sat down yesterday and figured out what I am going to eat for each meal this week and made my grocery list, it's very long! Going to the store today and starting on it tomorrow.

Sunny and warm here in Georgia. It was supposed to have rained here yesterday but it didn't.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

My corner of the world actually was sunny today. That will last through Sun. morning, then rain, and lots of it through Wednesday. Went to the dr. today for a very sore heel. Sure enough, plantar fasciitis. There goes walking for a while, but not weights.

Shirley -- I joined before they released the Simple Start so I didn't actually do that part -- but I understood from what they've said in meetings that it's all fruits and veggies. They give the new members a Simple Start booklet -- if you attend meetings, you should get one or ask for one --- they offered to give them to those of us who were already members, but I didn't take one b/c the point plus is working for me. It seems like even potatoes and sweet potatoes were allowed -- ??? -- if you're online member, do they have a list of the foods? I have free online with my monthly pass but don't use it for much other that the recipe builder.

Let us know if you haven't found an answer yet ----- we'll get it figured out!

Hope everyone has had a fabulous Friday ---- it was rainy here but I'm doing well, so in my little corner of the world it's actually "sunny"!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this team but not to WW. I have never done the Simple Start part of the plan and have a question. Can I eat all the fruits and vegetables I want on Simple Start without counting points or is it just unlimited vegetables?

Does anyone have any pointers for this part of the plan? I'm excited to get going on it!

Well, I DID in fact go right back on plan... and I'm doing good! I have started walking daily, and I'm even attempting Jillian Michaels' 30 day shred. I'm not keeping up with it, but I'm trying!!!

Just got back from a 3.7 mile walk (usually do 4 but because of some major blisters on my feet, cut out the worst hill and turned around). I walked in capris and a tshirt, and let me tell you, 43 degrees and 12-15 mph wind calls for warmer clothes!!

Going to get warm in the tub now... later all!!

It has been a terrific Tuesday! Started out rainy but then the sun came out, the rain dried up and all was just fine and dandy!

I forgot about it being Earth Day --- thanks Joss for reminding us! We celebrate it as Arbor Day at school and will have our tree planting ceremony on Friday - so I didn't even think about the official Earth Day --- gotta be thankful for the Earth!!!

I'm home tomorrow and plan to do some cooking ahead - love it when I do that - it's always so nice to have some foods ready to go. I try to do that on Sunday afternoons, but with Easter, I didn't --- and now I'm realizing how convenient it really is --- it's only Tuesday and I'm having to actually fix food daily!!! can't have that! lol !

Keep the focus ---

Happy and Blessed Easter! The day was filled with praise and fun and family ---- but now it's all done and tomorrow we're back to school, back on schedule, just back ----- plain old back to being normal!!! woohoo for normal! I love normal!!!

I did well --- I counted everything -- I planned --- I did push it to the top of the highest limit I could possibly push to --- but I did SO much better than what I have been known to do in the past --- and for that, I am very thankful! I'm finding that as this journey goes along, I have learned so much - I have changed some really bad habits - I have really decided that my priorities must come first and that it's fine and dandy to put ME and my needs at the top of the list --- at least most of the time! Trust me ---- no one has suffered a bit around here -- they're all still spoiled and loved and cared for beyond what could ever be the minimum required!!! no one's hurtin' a bit!!!!

Looking forward to drinking lots of water and making veggies my bestest food friend this week ----

Hi. I am a newbie to the team, but not to spark. I have to admit I have struggled a bit in the past to find a balance with both spark & WW ... then low & behold I found you! I love my meetings but find I could really use the support on the other 6 days, too.

Tomorrow is Easter brunch with family & friends. I just have to keep in mind exactly what Jane said, it may be a bit of a slip but doesn't need to be a slide. Hoping to get a long walk in after.

I hope you all have a blessed & happy Easter Sunday!

We got this!

Blanche and Kim --- we talked about this exact subject this morning at my WW meeting. Holidays and celebrations can give us a slip sometimes --- but the key is that a "slip does not become a slide" !!!!! and that is SO true! It's a holiDAY not a holiWEEK or holiMONTH ---- just a DAY!!! that's the part we must remember and move on --- back on ---- and continuing the journey!!!!

We got this ladies ---- we GOT this!!!!

Have a very blessed Easter Sunday to all --- He is Risen!

Same here Blanche. I kind of slid after I hit 15 lbs. lost which is silly because I have a lot more to lose. We celebrated Easter with the kids today too. I have to get some stuff done for work tomorrow and hubby works so I'll have time.

We are having a beautiful day here --- sunny and warmer ---- yes! I just tried on some old clothes from the back of my closet and found my Holy Week outfits!!!! As a church musician, I need 3 outfits - tonight for Holy Thursday, tomorrow for Good Friday and then Sunday. I fit into a dress that I haven't worn in years ---- makes me feel just so happy! Also got some every day tee shirts out of there that fit --- it's always a good day when you can "shop" in your own closet -- love doing this!

Enjoy your day --

Dare I say: Happy Tax Day?!?!?!?!

In case you haven't filed yet, there's still 45 minutes to go! LOL!!!!!

Hope everyone has had a wonderful OP day ---- there were some restaurants around here that offered free coffee or something free in honor of tax day --- none offered to pay our taxes, however!!!! I didn't cash in on the offers b/c I had my coffee at home this morning ---- being on spring break, I didn't have to BE any where or DO any thing so I stayed home a bit and just ENJOYED doing pretty much NOTHING!!!! Until I went to get a hair cut and to a band practice --- it was a lovely (although snowy - bummer!!) day!

You're having a good weekend Blanche. I need to have a garage sale this spring or early summer as well. I've been selling some things on our local swap website, but it takes longer than putting it all out at once.

Well... so far my garage sale has been pretty successful! My daughter has made a little more than me, but at least this stuff isn't still sitting in my basement!

I kinda thought I'd have help with it, but I've done it on my own except for the initial set up! LOL

I have the munchkins this weekend as well... they seem to be no worse for me forgetting them Friday, so I've decided I'm not the Horrible Grandmother after all. :-)

I didn't turn to food!!!!! Yeah me! I've actually done very well this weekend! I have used 4 of my weekly points, but that's it! Now, .... I didn't have any wine in the house. I'm sure that if I had had some, I would have used a few more of those points! LOL
