Hello,

I have been incredibly busy with both jobs, family, birthdays... and haven't taken the time to get on the WW page.

Pat~ Yeah on your 25# loss! emoticon

Nancy~ You have lost 40#! That is awesome! Don't let a .1 gain get you down. emoticon

I haven't been completely sticking to the program the last couple weeks but have thankfully maintained. My sister was in town this weekend and she said I looked thinner than when we were last together in August. emoticon

Let's all remember, including me!, to drink our water, get extra steps in and fill up on fruits and veggies! emoticon

DEKA2010..I feel your pain. I have been stuck for a few months, Just 2 days ago, I appeared to have broken it, or so I thought until I stepped on the scale this morning,,I like to weigh in daily at home. I have been trying the interval walk away the pounds workout by leslie sansone. I think it may be what I needed to break it... more intensity in my workout.

Pat,,,I am sorry to say that is not a real pic of me emoticon

Good morning all, and happy Monday!

I am so stuck at the same weight (actually I'm up a pound :-( .
Despite that, I saw a friend yesterday and she noticed right away that I've lost weight. That felt good!
What do you all do to mentally get through plateaus? It seems to be a very frustrating waiting game and it is no fun waiting for that scale to show a loss.

Be your own hero!

Shirley, do you notice if you're retaining fluid from day to day? Legs or fingers a little puffier? The reason I ask is that my weight can also fluctuate that much in a day. I can easily go up or down 5-7 pounds in a day depending on how much fluid I'm holding. That's why it always makes me laugh when someone says, "Well, you didn't gain this weight overnight, so you can't expect to lose it overnight either", because I really can pick up weight overnight for no apparent reason.
emoticon When my fluid levels get really high, on days when I have to sit for most of the day, I will try wearing compression stockings (just to the knee) to help my body get rid of some of the retention. I'm guessing you have a job that requires you to sit a lot, so that's why I was wondering if you might also be having some fluid retention causing you to show a few pounds of unexplained gain overnight. If you think you might be having problems with this, cutting back on sodium and maybe speaking to your doctor would be a good idea. Hang in there!
emoticon Don't worry about the seatbelt extender. I've had to ask for them in the past on Delta flights, and they're fine with it. As you board, you could ask a flight attendant then, or once you take your seat, you could catch their attention and just ask, "Could I have a seatbelt extender, please?", and they'll bring one to you and just say, "Here you go", and that's it. When you land, you can fold it back up (it's just a buckle with an extra bit of seatbelt strap to it) and place it on your seat where it can be easily found or hand it to the flight attendants as you leave the plane. So many people ask for them, and no one will think anything of you asking for one.
emoticon I'm with you on the non-direct flights. I wish they had more direct ones. My Mom is flying down to see me in June. She did the same last year, and it was her very first flight ever, but with my Dad no longer able to help her drive the long trip, flying was the only way she'd make it to my home. My brother flew her down and came with her, and I sent her back home. This year, she's doing it without my brother, and we need to find direct flights for her so that my brother can walk her to the gate (most airlines will let a companion walk to the gate with a child or adult who needs assistance) at her airport, and I can be waiting at the gate to pick her up when she gets here. It just needs to be a direct flight. If she had to get off a plane in a strange airport and walk around trying to find and board another one ,she'd be so confused and flustered. I hope you can find a direct flight that isn't too expensive.
Here's some coffee to keep you awake. emoticon

Beachcomber, enjoy your meetings today. I hope they go well, and I hope that you start to feel less tired. Here's some coffee for you also. emoticon emoticon Fantastic that you got the seeds all planted! Yay!! Step one to having a beautiful garden is complete!
emoticon

Elise, Love your energy and positive attitude! You can do this! emoticon

emoticon I'm going to be getting some April showers today...in March! Oh, that silly Mother Nature just loves to switch things up, doesn't she? emoticon
I stayed up till midnight last night because my son was eligible to register for his summer college courses today, and so I was literally sitting in my pajamas at the dining room table clicking refresh on my browser over and over from 11:59 and 55 seconds up until it finally changed to 12:00, and the Summer session opened up for registration. LOL! I was eager to get to bed. LOL! But I got him registered, and then climbed into bed and was asleep within seconds. emoticon I woke up at 5:15am, so my body is being fueled today by coffee. emoticon I'm just going to stick around the house today and tackle a huge pile of laundry...three loads down, two to go...and then get it all folded and put away. And of course school lessons with my kiddo to do his high school stuffies. emoticon That's about it for me today! I'll drop back in later and see how everyone is doing!

Pat, Congratulations on your 25 pound weight loss! emoticon That is such awesome news. I seem to be stuck and am at the end of my rope. I'm hoping my scale is broke at this point. I had lost about 6 pounds while I was sick last week. When I got on the scale on Sat. I had gained that 6 pounds back plus another 3.5 pounds. Now how is that possible? I wasn't eating anything more then I was before. I figured I would gain the 6 pounds back though when I could start eating again. Then this morning I thought it must be a fluke and so weighed again and I had gained another 5 plus pounds in just one day. How does that happen? Kind of discouraged and disheartened. I want to lost these 10 pounds and really lose another 5 or 10 before my nieces wedding in June. I've never had to ask for a seatbelt extention on a flight before but if I can't lose these 10 pounds or whatever I have really gained I will have to.I just feel that would be so embarrassing. If I can't find airplane reservations soon we won't be going anywhere. The flights are just crappy times. Leaving Atlanta in the evening and not getting there until almost 9 pm. Someone has to drive up to Denver to pick us up and I hate to ask someone to drive clear to Denver that late. Plus we are staying with my brother in daughter in law, and they have 3 small kids. I don't want to disrupt the entire house getting in so late. One of the flights I found was leaving Denver at 6 am. That's another concern, that's way to early in the morning. I have never had this many problems finding a flight before. Oh and the ones I'm finding all include a layover and plane change some
were. I hate that!

I'm so disoriented and out of it today. I have been up the entire night. It rained all day yesterday and my legs just ached and ached all night. It was so bad I couldn't sleep. I took some Benadryl at 3 am and I think that was a big mistake, I feel like I have a hang over. I just want to crawl under my desk and take a nap. I sure shouldn't have been driving I figured that out half way here. I was sweeping and mopping floors this morning at 3:30. Just to have something to do.

Had a really nice lunch with the stepkids yesterday. It was good to see them. It rained all the way up there and most of the way back down. We drove around afterwards since it was so early but decided to just come on home. It was close to 6 when we got back.

The other thing wasn't so free at all. I did get a new sleep apnea machine and still working on it all. I'm afraid I'm going to have to pay for the new mask and everything. Insurance has come after me demanding payment because it was filed wrong apparently. Then insurance dragged their feet for some reason on a bill last month. They told me the co. had waited too long to file and they weren't going to pay and neither should I. Well now I get a bill from them and I called and ask them and they said it was Insurance co. fault and now I need to come up with all this money to cover these supplies now. I don't even own the machine anymore and the thing that really burns me up is why didn't they bill me earlier. It's been an entire year now. So glad I don't have to deal with anymore. I'm hoping the new mask and everything I got this time with the new machine is covered. But I have a feeling it isn't. Oh well! Always something.

I did get my winter clothes put away and my summer clothes out on Friday night, glad that chore is over with for another year. I then had wash everything and that was quite a mountain of laundry. So other then the clothes we wore yesterday I got all the laundry done and clothes folded. YAY! Didn't get much else done though, except my bathrooom clean and mop the rooms.
Anyway I'm off here. I can't stay awake! This should be a great day. Ha ha!
Shirley

Good morning WW friends! This is a brand new week. Let's get out there and do this thing! emoticon

I am still sleepy! So I am trying to pep myself up for the day. I had a busy but enjoyable weekend. I didn't make the best choices, but today is a new day. I did finally get my seeds planted and I am happy about that.

Elise - Come on girl, we can do this! Please try not to get discouraged. We will exercise and stay in our point range and we will see results.

I hope everyone has a nice and productive day. I have an eligibility meeting and an IEP meeting today. There is a possibility they will be rescheduled due to the person chairing the meeting possibly having to go to jury duty. I hope not. I like to get these things taken care of in as timely a manner as possible! The end of the school year is in site and I want all my ducks in a row!

Happy Sunday! emoticon The weekend is almost over. How are you preparing for the week ahead? Cooking or planning ahead? Planning some time in your schedule for exercise? Devoting some time to relaxation and finding some calmness in your busy schedule? Whatever you plan, I hope it works out for you this week.
emoticon

Jane, thank you for my stars!! emoticon emoticon I love how you handled the two times eating out by ordering salads, veggies, and veggie subs. Especially when everyone around you was eating greasy high-point foods. You've shown how we can easily join others at a restaurant without wasting a lot of points.
emoticon

Elise, I'm still hoping Spring finds you soon. Hopefully this will be the last cold blast for your area.
emoticon

Beachcomber, busy weekends are terrific! As long as you enjoy what you're busy with! LOL! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
emoticon

Hi Bluskys! I love your SparkName! That's really cute. emoticon Tracking can be hard to keep up with. For me, finding a way that I enjoy doing it works to make it less of a chore. For example, even though I'm using the Online program, I don't like tracking online. I track on paper. When I did Weight Watchers twice before in my life, the online program wasn't even available, so writing it with pen and paper just seems more natural to me since that's the way I've always done it. Oh goodness me, I sound so old saying that. LOL! Hope your weekend is going well!
emoticon

Carollee, so great to see you again! emoticon I love your positive attitude. You're so right. It could always be worse, so it's great to look at the bright side of situations. Spring has to arrive sometime, and I bet it'll be here soon for you.
emoticon emoticon

Hi Susan, is that you in your profile picture? If so, you look so healthy and fit! Awesome job! Do you run races like 5Ks or marathons? Thanks for the sweet words about my son and I doing WW together. So far, he's really liking it and says he doesn't feel deprived of any of his favorite snacks...and teenage boys love to eat. LOL! Hope your weekend is spectacular!
emoticon

Today has just been so wonderful. I started out with a haircut, which I needed badly. The man who cut my hair joked that my hair was starting to look like a mullet. Oh goodness. lol!
emoticon I'm amazed there's a mullet emoticon. LOL!
Then I went to Home Depot to get some color cards for paint. The previous owner of our house had taken down some shutters from the windows before we bought it, and the hinges were left behind. They were metal and starting to rust and look bad. So my husband took the hinges off this weekend, and since we have a concrete block house ( for hurricanes), it damaged some of the paint and concrete on the outside, and now I'll need to just do some tiny touch-ups. First I need to match the paint, though. Still, it looks so much nicer without the hooks there anymore.
emoticon Then I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and found a new bedspread since getting a comforter or bedspread was my 25 pound goal reward. I almost wasn't going to get anything because the prices were so high! Ack! But I found a clearance area, and there was one there that was extremely reasonable, and with their 20% off coupons, it was a steal. Whew! :) Then we spent most of the afternoon swimming in the pool. Tonight, we're cooking burgers on the grill. Can't wait!

WEIGH to go Pat on that 25 pound --- you ARE the star!!!!

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

there's 25 big stars for you!

I've had to eat out twice today!!! oh my! but both times I ordered salad and veggies -- tonight's was a pizza place and there were 10 of us -- 9 of them ordered pizza and big old fatty subs -- 1 of us (and that would be ME!!!) ordered a salad and a veggie sub -- it was delish and I've been ordering those when we go to pizza places b/c basically all I have to count is the bun and cheese -- with no meat it saves a lot of points! So I counted, planned ahead, checked websites so I could "know before I go", tracked and enjoyed both meals tremendously! I even had weekly points saved for some Saturday chocolate! love to indulge a bit on Saturdays -- it just seems to be the right time for something extra! and so --- WW works if we work it -- we really can have our (counted!!) cake and eat it too!

Hubby and I are watching the LOST series -- don't like to watch those when they're on tv as it takes so long to get through the season - but we do enjoy them on dvds and we're just about half way through season 1 -- it's interesting and so far we're liking it. We've done 24, Breaking Bad, Justified and tried a few others that we didn't like --- it was our winter entertainment! not much else to do when it's so cold and/or snowy, so we got into watching these tv series that we've never seen before -- we amuse easily - can you tell!?!?!?!

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday.....

Hi Leasim1231! emoticon

Thank goodness for those 49 weekly points, right? emoticon A nice breakfast out sounds wonderful, and having a gift card for it is even nicer! Aren't gift cards the best? I just love receiving gift cards. Even if it's a business I don't normally use, I love it because it gives me the chance to try something I haven't tried before.

This is my first week faithfully tracking my points. The first 2 days went well and today hubby and I went out for breakfast with a gift certificate we had that expires next week. I know I have my extra week points, but it is scary to see that my breakfast used up my entire daily value! Glad it's in the middle of the week...

Oh boy...it's Saturday morning...Weigh-in Day...and I just want to cry....HAPPY TEARS! lol Fooled you! emoticon emoticon I just had an amazing weigh-in today! I broke my plateau finally, and I lost 3.8 pounds! This helped me to reach a 25 pound loss total, and I earned my little 25 pound star on the Online Program. I just sat there and stared at that star with the 25 in it, and my eyes welled up with tears, and I just had to say, "Wow...that's incredible." I'm walking on air today. Oh! And my son weighed this morning, and he lost 3 pounds and has now earned his first 5 pound star! WooHoo!

Elise, I heard the Northeast was going to get more snow. Just when I thought that whole area was going to finally get to enjoy Springtime. I hope this is the last snowstorm for you this year.
I'm so happy you're feeling a better today! emoticon

Leslie, so glad your'e feeling better about this week's gain. When I saw my doctor earlier this month for my check-up, I showed him a list of my weigh-ins since mid-January, and I pointed to it and said, with a disappointed tone, "I gained a pound that week...and stayed the same a bunch of weeks...", and he told me that I can't look at this from week to week, no matter how hard that is. He said that when I see a gain, I need to step back and see how far I've come since I started. Do I weigh less than I started? Sure do. And then he wanted me to think about how much I might be weighing if I had given up and fallen into my old habits again (goodness, don't even want to think about that..lol). Definitely use the chat feature on WW Online if you need them. I've heard they're very helpful, but I haven't had to use them yet myself.
emoticon

Hi Nancy! So great to see you! emoticon Yeah, a tiny .1 gain is almost like saying you stayed exactly the same. emoticon I'm sure you were in the team long before I joined in January, right? Maybe you could check the team member list and see if the older members that your'e looking for are still active on Sparkpeople? Even if they aren't active, as long as you can access their pages, you can send them Sparkmail to say Hi, and it will probably send them an email to let them know to log in and check their Sparkmail messages. :) It's fun catching up with old friends.
emoticon

Jane, I just love the way you said that you need the weekend to catch up with yourself. Thats so perfect. I may have to borrow that. lol I'm with you on making it a STOP weekend, although "SLOP" makes me laugh just saying the word.
"Hey Mom, what are you working on?"
"Well, Sweetie, I'm doing SLOP at the moment."
emoticon

I'm going out for a driving lesson with my son this morning, to the farmer's market, and then over to the Fresh Market across town to get a slice of cheesecake for my husband. I ordered a pizza for the guys and a salad for me earlier this week from a local pizza place, and he asked me to order a slice of cheesecake for him as a treat, but the pizza place had run out. So I know that the Fresh Market has a little bakery in the back of the store where you can buy cheesecake slices, so I'm going to just zoom in there, and buy one slice for him as a surprise treat for today. lol Even when he's a big ol' Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, I still love the guy. emoticon
Tonight, we're doing Cosmic Bowling again (so much fun!), and I'm going to show my son that he doesn't need to deprive himself anything if he's on Weight Watchers, so I suggested that he save some of his points so he can get a snack at the snack counter tonight at the bowling alley. He smiled and said, "I like how you think, Mom!" LOL!

Thanks for the support everyone.

I just get so frustrated, especially since its only the second week that I've been back on the program. I expect this to happen 4-6 weeks in (more of a plateau than a gain), but it was better this morning (I'm a daily weigher I can't help it) but my official day is Friday.

Pat - I am following the online program and I did see the coaches on there, if this continues I definitely will enlist their help. I am also trying really hard to make sure I am eating enough, when the program did not work for me the last time, I started tracking my food in both WW and SP and realized I was not eating nearly enough calories with the points system so I am trying not to make that same mistake again. Thanks so much for your advice :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend, off to do my morning workout!

Happy Friday! good to have the weekend arrive -- it's been a full and busy week and I'd like to get caught up with myself. I'm really good at putting things on the back burner during these hectic weeks -- but my burner is now stacked to the ceiling so it's time to re-group, re-do, re-arrange and get my normal back where it belongs! whew!

I'm also planning to make it a STOP weekend here -- no WEAKends allowed! In case you haven't read about STOP, that's Stay Totally On Program! It's much needed for me to be successful -- if I STOP, I lose -- if I SLOP, I gain or maintain (Stay LOOSELY On Program!) -- it's my choice - it's my decision -- to STOP, SLOP and of course there's the 3rd option of SHOP (Stay Half On Program!!) - but that doesn't work either! Nope -- it only works to STOP -- no matter what - it's that simple - it's science - it's what works for me so I may as well give up my excuses b/c it's the only weigh to weigh less!!!

We are experiencing a bit of chilly temps here - high 30's but no sun - so it makes it feel colder to me. I'm hoping for a brighter tomorrow so I can get pumped up for running some errands and increasing my step count on my pedometer -- all is SO good when those numbers show higher and the sun shines -- hahaha -- I'm so conditional aren't I???

Enjoy your Friday evening ladies ---

Hi Leslie!! emoticon emoticon I think I missed your post while I was writing mine.
emoticon
Do you ever eat any of your weekly points? The reason I'm asking is that I've been exercising every day since January 15th when I started. I haven't missed a day, and I lost fast at first, but for the last 3 weeks, I've been stuck at 308. This week, I've been busy with loads of Spring Cleaning, and I've gone over my points 2-3 days, using some of my weekly 49 points. I was actually disappointed in myself and felt sure I'd see a big gain this week, but on the scale right now, I'm showing a 1 pound loss right now, with weigh-in tomorrow. On top of that, my legs, which have edema swelling at times due to my weight are really puffy...if that fluid was gone, I'd have a larger weight loss, I know.

So I'm feeling stunned...but it looks like eating more than my normal daily points for the first time might have helped me break my plateau.
emoticon

If you're exercising each day and only staying in your daily points, you may want to try eating a few of the weekly points. It sounds strange, but it seems to be working for me this week. Some of your gain could be fluid retention. Do you know if you've added in any high sodium foods this week? Have you eaten out more?
emoticon
Are you following the plan on your own or using Meetings or Online? If you continue to see a gain next week, you could talk to your Meeting Leader or one of the Online Experts that they provide for 24/7 chats. They might be able to give you more ideas on what you could do. Maybe they'll tell you to adjust your daily point value to help the program work better for you. :)

Whatever you do, please don't give up! emoticon

P.S. Your blouse in your profile picture is absolutely beautiful! I love all the colors! emoticon

*Edited to correct spelling errors. LOL!*

Good morning everyone!

MILLER- It can be very frustrating when we are doing all the things we think are right and we still see an increase on the scale! Ugh! Unfortunately a lot of things can make that happen. We women are some mysteriously made hormone jumping creatures! Could it be something with TOM? Bathroom issues? Fluid? Are you measuring portions? Gaining muscle? Please don't get discouraged! emoticon emoticon

Elise- Sorry about your computer! Enjoy your trip to the grocery store. I will be doing that either today or tomorrow.

We are having math madness with the kids today! Hurrah! I should get in a lot of extra movement. I may also go to the gym later. It depends on how much activity I get at school. I should just push and do both! We will see.

Have a great day! emoticon

Hi Elise! emoticon That one pound could come from anything (too much sodium, hormonal changes, water retention, etc). Don't let it discourage you.
emoticon

Hi Beachcomber! I'm happy to hear your husband is back home, and I hope that you can make it to the gym today. You're really doing great! I'm not sure I could do an elliptical. On a gym commercial, I saw one of those stair climber machines, and I thought, "My goodness, that looks like torture!" LOL! I'm not sure I'd last long on that one either. Our homes are one-story concrete in my area. When I visit my Mom each year, it takes my breath away going up her flight of 11 stairs to her upstairs area. emoticon

Hi Shirley! Oh goodness, Yes, I remember the traffic in Atlanta. When we first moved to Atlanta as newlyweds, we were living in Dunwoody (Dunwoody Courtyards Apartments on NE Peachtree-Dunwoody Road--behind the Dunwoody Marta station on Ga-400, but the Marta station was just in the planning stage at that point), and my husband worked at an office on Ashford Dunwoody near the Perimeter Mall. So that wasn't too bad of a commute. We lost a son (premature), and he is interred down in that same area. BUT...when we moved and bought a house in Cumming, north of Alpharetta, in Forsyth County, we had to travel back and forth on Ga-400 for him to get to work, for me to visit the cemetery, and trips to the airport to drop my husband off for business trips were unreal!! The trip should have only taken 50 minutes from our home to the airport, but it easily took 2.5 hours in traffic. Unreal! When I had to make the trip with my son when he was potty training, I had to be stern and say, "I don't care if you've already tried going...try again. We're going to be in the car for a long time..." LOL! emoticon Glad I could remind you of that lovely area across the pedestrian bridge in Chattanooga. I remember there were some condos right on the river there, and I used to dream about retiring in those condos. They were a close walk to downtown, an equally close walk to the pedestrian bridge and the little town across the river, and I could see the Riverboats going up and down the river from my balcony. It just seemed like the perfect life. emoticon I doubt I'll do it now, but it was a fun dream at the time. My most favorite used bookstore ever is in that little town across the river. Old, worn, dusty wooden floors that creak when you walk on them, the smell of old books and papers...absolutely cozy and wonderful.
emoticon The Stone Fort Inn sounds wonderful!!! I'd love to stay there for a relaxing weekend.
emoticon

Today, my son has a test on campus, so I need to drive him over to the college so he can use their Testing Lab. That place is always so intimidating to me with all it's cameras watching the test takers. LOL! Then we'll stop at the post office, and home again. Tonight is Cosmic Bowling, and I can't wait! I've finally finished my Spring Cleaning, and my husband gave me a compliment last night by saying, "Everywhere I walk, this place is spotless and organized! It's amazing!" emoticon Time to wake up the men and get them moving and fed. LOL!
I'll try to stop back later and chat! Have an awesome day, Everyone!! :)

Don't forget to share some smiles today! You never know who might be needing one! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Well, I am so not happy right now. I gained 3 pounds this week, which wouldn't bother me if I actually knew why. I have stayed within my points range (good food, not junk) eaten my fruits and veggies (but not over-doing fruits), drank all of my water and worked out every day.

Same thing happened the last time I was on WW, started out good then started gaining weight. Maybe their scientific method just doesn't work for everyone. Going to give it another week and see what happens. Hopefully I'll be happier next week.

Have a great day all.

Hi everyone! I finally made it home! I had an autism training after work. It was very interesting. They did a great job presenting. When I left there, I had to take my daughter to her evaluation at her job. My husband just got back from a 2 day business trip in Philadelphia. I will sleep better tonight since he is at home to snuggle! Thanks for all the support about going to the gym. I hope to go again tomorrow.

Shirley- I don't always feel like I want to go to the gym. Yesterday was definitely one of those days, but when I get going I feel really great. I am happy I went ahead and did it. That Stone Fort Inn sounds amazing. I would like to go there one day with my husband. It is probably a good idea to stay away from the baby this weekend. I know it will be hard though. You will have baby withdrawal. LOL

Pat- You are so funny talking about hobbit feet. Don't worry, with all the work you are doing you will definitely be able to wear those sandals one day. I tease my husband about his feet. I tell him that his toes are so long he could probably swing from a tree branch by them. LOL
It isn't warm enough here to want a cool treat but I hope you are able to find a nice cool bomb pop to enjoy. We made popsicles with the kids at school last month. They really enjoyed that.

My hubby wants me to watch t.v. with him. He asked if I was writing a book. That is my cue to pay attention to him. See you later.

Way to go Beachcomber on that workout! You're doing it! emoticon That's terrific! Every week I just tell myself that I'm going to walk three times and get started again and then something happens like this week and the stomach bug. Last week it was my ex and all that and my son being here. The week before it was the baby coming. I do manage one day most weeks except this week and I'm hoping walking the grocery store counts, I do plenty of walking on Saturdays with errands and shopping. My husband said that when the time changed he would leave work early and we would go walking before it got dark, that hasn't happened yet. So do I take the chance and not do my exercise tape when I get home or do I hope he's going to get out of there on time at least. It takes him an hour and a half most nights to get home. This traffic is brutal. We both need to walk and I like walking with him. But not knowing if he's going to make it home in time is the bad part. I hope someday I will like to exercise again and start looking forward to it. I just hate to exercise and can find a million excuses for not doing it as you can see!

You guys made me smile! Pat you are so funny, I loved the dialogue you had going with Destiny. That was too cute. Yes there's lots I can do with her now and when she's a toddler. They posted a picture of her yesterday sleeping and it just hit me how much she looked like her daddy at that age. She definitely has his chin and mouth!

My stomach still isn't the greatest. I think just to be safe that I will skip going to see the baby this weekend. It sure has taken the life out of me this week. It's all I can do to get through the day at work. I did manage to do two loads of laundry last night, try a new recipe and do dishes, oh and run to the drugstore. Did more then I thought. :)

Oh Jane I have to agree on the sandals. I have ugly feet and I don't care. I decided a long time ago if people didn't like the way my feet looked then they just don't need to look. I do go and get a good pedicure and put pretty polish on. But living in the South sandals are a must in the summer!

Pat, Pat, Pat! I love you for reminding me of the bridge to the other side of Chattanooga and that cute little town. You're right it does seem like a different world over there. I forgot about the river and how much I do like Chattanooga. I do like it a lot. We usually get there in time to meet his kids, have lunch and then run out of there. I was thinking about asking my husband about going up a little early and do some walking around but it looks like it's going to be a rainy day and the high is only going to be 59. I guess we could still go up early though. If nothing else just park at the river and watch the water. Oh and Pat, there is this really neat Inn in downtown Chattanooga. I love going there but it's soooo expensive. It's called the Stone Fort Inn. It's over 100 years old and every room is decorated in a different way. It's full of antiques. No kids! Super romantic. Wish it was more affordable though. We spent our first wedding anniversary in Chattanooga, we stayed there for a few nights and saw everything there was to see in Chattanooga. It was super cool.

Elise, I hope you have a good Drs. visit today and that the Dr. can help you out.

It's rainy here today and icky, chillier then it's been. Next week is my birthday and it looks like it's going to be a pretty day. A few years ago on my birthday - it was on a Sunday, we, on the spur of the moment decided to go to Stone Mtn. Park and buy the all day pass. You will appreciate this Pat since you lived here. We did it all! The train, the sky lift - where people were flying kites on top of the mountain - we rode the ducks and since it was my birthday the guy offered to let me drive the boat, but I declined, we just did it all! It was so much fun. By far the best birthday ever! The weather was perfect! This year I was going to take the day off but after missing so much work recently I have decided not to, so I will be here.
Better get some work done. Back to tedious cataloging.

Beachcomber, you ROCK! Way to go for going to the gym and getting on the elliptical! emoticon emoticon How long until your Spring Break? It should be coming up soon, right? Awww, I liked your memories of your kids in the pool with the Bomb Pops. And now I'm also craving a cool refreshing Bomb Pop! LOL! Doesn't that sound good?? Not sure how many points they are. emoticon Ooo....I just found a Bomb Pop Jr. is 1 point...so maybe a regular is 2? Thats not much at all for a sweet treat. emoticon

Shirley, Oh, there will be tons of fun things you can do with your granddaughter while she's a baby and even a toddler! Just think of all the silly things you can do to make her giggle as a baby, and the cute conversations you'll have with her as a toddler, especially when they master the word "No":
"Destiny, we're going to the store, Sweetheart."
"No"
"Would you like a cookie?"
"No"
"Is it nap time?"
"No".
"Do you like the word No?"
"No".
emoticon emoticon emoticon
You have so many fun years to share with Destiny before you reach your cookie baking days together.
emoticon emoticon
Oooo...I love Chattanooga. I do miss that about living in North GA. We weren't far away from Chattanooga. I love the pedestrian bridge there, and the area on the other side with all it's little art shops and the old book store and ice cream parlor. Life just seems to move at a slower pace across the bridge from downtown Chattanooga. emoticon

Jane, oooOOoo...I have to second Beachcomber here...no socks and sandals if it can be avoided. LOL! Definitely sandals and pretty nail polish, though. I can't wait till I can wear sandals again. The tops of my feet have been so puffy in recent years...sometimes I giggle because they look like Hobbit feet. LOL! But I'm making progress, and I'll get into some cute strappy summer sandals before long! When I do, I'm going to choose the most bright neon nail polish to draw attention to my feet.
emoticon Congrats on the water drinking! emoticon

Elise, I wanted to wish you good luck at the doctor's today! I hope he/she can find out how to help you feel better soon!
emoticon

Today, I'm starting out with a drive with my son, heading home for school lessons, and then lots of laundry and clothes folding. Should be an awesome day. I understand we might get some rain today, and it'll be around 86 degrees, so it's a nice day to stay home and maybe just sit in the shade outside and enjoy a breeze. Tomorrow will be bright, sunny, and 91 degrees! I think we skipped over Spring and headed right into Summer. LOL!

Hello everybody. I am sitting here with sore thighs from the elliptical machine at the gym. I was determined to burn 220 calories. I did it but I was working really hard! I was so happy when I finally hit that number and could jump off and go work on the machines. There was a movie on, I think it was one of the Hobbit movies. I didn't want to pay too much attention because I think we have that same one saved on the DVR. This is the longest week ever! I feel so grumpy and I can hardly wait for Spring Break! The children at work are getting Spring fever and they are bouncing off the walls!

Jane- Just say no to socks and sandals! LOL I like the look of pretty painted toenails with sandals too. I will have to start thinking of what color I want on my toes. I can drink all the water I want because we have a bathroom in the classroom and 2 other adults. I keep filling my water container in the water fountain all day.

Pat- Yes, our kids grow up way too fast. I remember both of them sitting in a little blow up pool together with bomb pop popsicles, playing with the toy kitchen set, pulling all my plastic containers out of the cabinet, all sorts of little things! I don't live way up North, I live in Virginia. We were just particularly snowy this year so it probably sounded like I was further up. We would still have to prepare the pool for winter though. I like your new picture. That is the 3rd one you have had. I still have my same old one. I had my picture taken at work and I got them back yesterday. When I saw the pictures especially the head to toe class picture, I felt so sad. I know I am overweight and I am working on it, but I just looked huge. I can't believe how big I am compared to when I got married. Ugh!!!

Shirley- Those intestinal viruses really wipe out all your energy. Try to take it easy if you can. I hope they have some work for you during Spring Break. The day goes so much faster for me if I am busy. I hate sitting around with nothing to do. It would be really great if you could get your supervisor's job. You should definitely apply. You are already there and know what needs to be done. Enjoy that little baby. You will be making cookies before you know it. Even when she is a young toddler, she can shake sprinkles on cookies! I started really early with my kiddos.

Have a good night everyone. Tomorrow is a new day.

I know Pat, where does the time go? Don't blink or you'll miss your kids lives. My oldest who just had the baby is 31 and my youngest is 28! I so miss them and those days. There are times when I wish I had done things differently. Spent more time doing things with them etc. You can't go back that's for sure. I plan on enjoying my Granddaughter and every minute I have with her. I'm looking forward to the time when she's old enough to bake cookies with. Things my boys didn't want to do. Look at me, she's only 2 weeks old and I'm already wishing the time away. I'm not going to do that. I'm going to enjoy her as a baby for as long as possible. Who knows if I will ever have another one. I hope I do someday but you never know. My mom is lucky, she has 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She's very fortunate. I love my family. I'm the oldest of 4. I have two brothers and a sister. I just hate that we are all scattered and never get to see each other. I have 2 nephews that I've never even met yet!

Anyway, Pat, no new bookkeeper for us. When I was riff'ed there were 10 of us. I was laid off for over a year, the bookkeeper who I was very close to retired and so did another girl so they were able to hire me back. They did hire a bookkeeper to replace her but then she quit and she made such a mess of things that they never hired anyone else, plus the county was struggling with budget issues so we just spread the bookkeeping job among those that are left. I do the filing. So no, they won't hire a bookkeeper. We are searching for a new superintendent and if we get someone who doesn't believe in the importance of libraries in schools and I have heard rumored that out of the 7 full time people left in my department that 4 of them are all retiring at once, including our wonderful director! who knows what's going to happen? It's scary to think I could be unemployed again in a year. I just try not to think about it. Hoping I will move up into my supervisor's spot and make some more money. LOL! Just trying to hold out until I get 20 years in. Just 5-6 years to go! Now we are talking about the 10 hour work weeks they usually make us work in the summer time! UGH! We all hope we don't have to do that, but this will be year number 5 so I think they are here to stay. Will probably find out after Spring Break.

Pat, I didn't spread Ricotta Cheese on my toast. I sometimes mix Mozzarella cheese with my Ricotta. YUM! Just didn't feel like much this morning and I knew it wouldn't hold me long and it didn't. I want to try those Laughing Cow Cheeses too but haven't. Do you eat a lot of cheese now that you have diabetes? I know I do.

Had to take a break from my tedious cataloging. Now it's nearly time to go sit up front and relieve one of the secretaries for lunch duty, then I go to lunch.

Going to Chattanooga on Sunday to meet my stepkids half ways for lunch. I hate going up there on Sundays. His daughter wants to go to church first and I don't blame her for that (so do I) but then it's an over 2 hour drive for them down to Chattanooga so we have this hurried very late lunch and then trek home and have to get up and go to work on Monday. UGH! So my husband will have to work on Sat. I guess. I think while he's working I'm going to put the quilt on the bed and pack away the comforter and get out my summer clothes. I'm so envious of you Pat for having your spring cleaning almost done. I'm lucky to get the house cleaned. Thankfully I had just cleaned it when my son had to make that unplanned visit down here last week and now after being sick all weekend it looks like a wreck again. I hope I will feel like going home and doing some straightening the next few days. Maybe those 2 days I have off at Spring Break I can manage to get some stuff de-cluttered that has been bugging me.

good and happy hUmP dAy to all!!! I just love stopping in here to read all the daily doings of my fav WW peeps! never a dull moment -- always some motivation, encouragement, fun and entertainment --- always makes me smile, sometimes makes me sad and even mad (don't like those meanies who pick on us - boo on them!) but always leave here uplifted and attitude ready to take on the day! I've said it before and I'll say it again --- I just LOVE us!!!

emoticon emoticon emoticon

now here's my dilemma for the day! Monday we hit the 60 degree zone!!!! and so my feet were screaming "heat wave"!!!!!!!! so I got out my healthy sandals - painted my toe nails and was good to go!!! love seeing painted toe nails and sandals - especially after the winter we had! well -- that was good for Monday and most of yesterday, but then it started to chill out a bit and I had to put the socks and shoes back on --- blue toes with red nail polish just isn't a good thing --- patriotic yes! - but doesn't feel too good! So today - I started out with socks/shoes --- just switched to sandals but toes are starting to feel a little cooler than is comfortable ---- do you see my dilemma? hahaha --- major problem -- isn't it?!?!?! I might just pull a compromise and wear socks with the sandals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fashion statement by me!

emoticon emoticon emoticon

Have a wonderful Wednesday ---- I'm drinking today!!!! H2O - that is! I like to load up on water when I'm at home - it's harder on school days b/c of running to the potty all the time - so home days are water/potty days for me!

Good Morning! emoticon

Shirley, just one year until your two co-workers retire, and you can get back to having a nice happy office. Maybe your work will hire a new bookkeeper, and your secretary will have someone else to focus her attention on. Hope things get better as she nears retirement and knows her days there are ending. She might start to give up some control as that time nears.
emoticon How exciting that you're planning to pull out the warm weather clothes and pack away the winter items! The first day of Spring is Saturday, so it's time to celebrate! WooHoo!
emoticon emoticon emoticon Your breakfast this morning sounded so delicious! Did you put the ricotta on the toast as a spread? I'm really going to have to try this for lunch today. I had been wondering what I could spread on my toast, and I was thinking of getting some of those little Laughing Cow cheese wedges, but I haven't actually bought any. I have a small container of ricotta, though, so I'm definitely trying this today. Thanks for the idea! It will help me use up items I have (my new goal) instead of buying more food.
emoticon

Beachcomber, some of your students were scared they might actually see a Leprechaun? Oh my goodness, that is so adorable! Can you just imagine the conversation at the dinner table when all these children got home last night? "A Leprechaun was at my school today!" LOL! So sweet!
emoticon I agree that having a pool up North can be a lot of work. When we lived in North Georgia, it was way too much trouble to have a pool there. For starters, we were on city water but septic for waste, so we had a leech field of pipes all throughout our backyard for our waste water to flow through when the washer drained or we took showers. So an inground pool wouldn't have worked. Also, we had winters with snow and ice (like Shirley has told us about), and we'd have to winterize our pool each year, which can really be a pain, I hear. We did put up little inflatible ring pools for our son when he was a toddler, but we just stuck to our community pool to make it easier. Down here, though, the weather stays nice for most of the year, so we never have to winterize or drain our pools. All we need to do is run an automatic pool cleaner which does most of the work (just zips around in the pool sucking up dirt or leaves all on it's own), test and add chemicals, and clean the filter with a hose once a week. It's not really that bad. emoticon

Elise, enjoy your trip to the mall with your friends. I hope the doctor can help you to feel better soon.
emoticon

Any lurkers hanging out and reading the Daily Chat today? emoticon Come join in on the fun and share your day with us! We'd love to hear from you. I know when you're on lots of teams, it's hard to keep up, but we'd love for you to leap right in and say Howdy anytime you want. We're all on this journey to health together! Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hubby is working from home today, but he's hopefully going to stay mostly in his home office to allow us to do school lessons without too much disruption. lol I'll be doing some normal cleaning today (Spring cleaning is almost finished! Yay!), and then some paperwork for my son's dual enrollment for the Fall. Being homeschoolers, we have to jump through a few more hoops to meet legal requirements, so I need to get that paperwork out of the way with the county school system. His college registers for Summer courses in mid-March, but they register for the Fall semester in April. Crazy, isn't it? LOL! I can't believe that he'll be a senior this Fall. I swear it feels like he was just toddling around the house with an animal cracker in one hand and a toy wooden block in the other in nothing but a diaper. LOL! Where does the time go?? emoticon emoticon

Yep Beachcomber, your secretary sounds just like mine. She has been better since her son just got engaged and is getting married in May. I just try to avoid her. She used to pick on me and the bookkeeper, now the bookkeeper is gone so she only has me to pick on.

Was feeling so much better last night, this morning not so great. I actually ate "real" food last night and it was great. I'm hoping I didn't overdue it though. I tried not to. I'm sure my blood sugar is all out of whack too! I need to test it. I woke up this morning with no appetite. I did manage to eat a piece of toast, some Ricotta cheese and a cup of hot tea. Thankfully I'm not as weak as yesterday. Hopefully as the day goes on I will feel better. Didn't sleep so great either. UGH! I hate nights like that.

Finally I'm getting caught up at work again. I have to work 3 days during spring break in a couple of weeks. Hoping I will have something to do or it's going to be a very long 3 days! I'm pretty sure there will only be two of us here that week.

Good afternoon everyone,

I came home a little early today. The kids were really excited about the leprechaun! they looked around all day hoping to spot one. I told them if they spotted one, they needed to catch it so it could give us the gold. A couple of kids were worried but we kept explaining that leprechauns are naughty not mean and if we catch one it has to give us gold.

Elise- I am sorry your computer is acting up. Sometimes mine gets very slow and freezes up. I get so aggravated.

Pat- A pool sounds nice. My kids and DH are always saying they want one. I say it is too much work because I know who would have to take care of it. ME! I do most of the work around here too. My husband does cut the grass and weed eat in the spring and summer. That is about it. Hope you get everything finished today!

Shirley- I am glad you are feeling better. Sorry about Ms. Perfect the secretary! our secretary sounds like yours. She is not tiny and cute, but she is sweet one day and talks your ear off and the next day she will bite everyone's head off. When she is in nasty mode, she even talks mean to the parents who come into the office! I just try to stay out of there in case she happens to be on the warpath. Just keep hanging on and smiling until she retires.

Oh Pat, this secretary is far from being the sweet Georgia Peach. She has days though when she's just sweet as pie to me and then there are days like the last few when she's just downright snotty towards me. I try to avoid her. She's cute and petite and she knows it. She has the perfect husband, kids and grandkids! She's also a perfectionist and OCD! So I'm sure you can picture her. She and my supervisor are joined at the hip, they carpool together and do stuff together and where one goes during the work day the other has to follow, they eat lunch together everyday too. They even go to the same Drs. and Dentists! Thankfully my supervisor treats me nicer. They will both be retiring next year at the same time even. Oh my goodness! She definitely runs the show and the boss doesn't say a word.

Beachcomber, I meant to say something earlier. I used to teach preschool and one year I did the same thing while the kids were out of the room at a special or something. We opened up the window, and sprinkled glitter (what was I thinking?) around and messed up the room and left a treat for the kids. They loved it. They thought for sure a leprechaun had come to visit. It was fun. Oh the good ol days!

Pat, I wish I had half your energy on a good day! Today I just feel too crummy to care. Just want to go home right now. On a bright note the weather is nice today! Then the temp starts dropping and by Thurs. rain and colder weather. Trying to figure out when I will have time to dig out summer clothes and put away the winter stuff. Don't think I'm going to need sweaters past Thursday anymore. Yay! Spring has finally arrived! emoticon emoticon

Off I go! Back to work! Would rather be sitting outside in the sunshine before the pollen starts flying!

Shirley, my goodness. This secretary sure doesn't fit the description of a sweet Georgia peach personality, does she? lol She sounds awfully controlling and maybe a little insecure. It could just be that she is close to retirement and maybe has seniority there, and so she figures she can run the show. One more year...start marking a calendar to count down the days until she retires.
emoticon emoticon

Elise, sorry about your computer. See you later! emoticon

Beachcomber, Oh my goodness, I want to be young again! When you talked about how you set up the room for the kids with the gold coins and everything set up to look like a Leprechaun had visited, that just sounded like so much fun! I think I get my energy from caffeine, to be honest. LOL! I drink a lot of coffee during the day. emoticon Actually, I think I have been like this since my husband and I got married, and he used to travel all but maybe 1-2 days out of each month. Our nearest family was 700 miles away at that time, and we lived in an area of North Georgia that was still kind of rural, so there wasn't a lot of help to watch my son while I got the house work, any repairs, car repairs, and yard work done or handled shopping or whatever. I would have to get the work done fast around my son's naps, and as he got older, I'd have to do it around times when he could be distracted by some sort of fun activity long enough for me to do what I needed to do. Nowadays, my husband is just lazy (lol), so I continue to do all the work even though he's not traveling like he used to.
emoticon Ooo! I love to read also, and I keep telling myself that if I get my work done, I'll be able to read more. LOL!
emoticon

I'm taking a lunch break right now, but I'm just about to hop back out into the yard to do more work out there. I finished mowing the front yard, but I've got to mow the back, do pruning, weeding, etc, back there, scrub down all the pool floats with soapy water and then hose them off, and then work on the pool (test and add chemicals, etc). Oh, and I still need to plant those two Mexican Petunia plants. I never got to that yesterday, and I figured that if I was going to work on the backyard today, the plants could be done then.

Yes Pat, this secretary acts like this all the time, especially towards me. Unfortunately, it seems if something is going to be really bad (like the stomach bug) or somethings going to happen, it's always me. I did make it this morning and I'm exhausted. I was feeling better last night and had a little more energy, I did 3 or 4 loads of laundry (where does it come from?) ended up waiting until my husband got home to make up the bed. I folded one small load of clothes, it's still sitting in the basket. I didn't cook dinner or pack my husband's lunch.
Anyway, this secretary can't believe that the stomach bug hung on for 3 days. She thinks it was food poisoning since no one else got it. I wanted to say "Well aren't you special, and I hope you don't get it" but just smiled. Told her it wasn't food poisoning. How can you prove to someone how bad you had a stomach virus or how awful you feel afterwards? Oh well! She's retiring in a year and then I'm done with her. I'm so over it all! She's Ms. Perfect!

Planting plants and all sounds so nice. I don't bother to have anything in my apartment. I have a few houseplants, like two Peace Lillies. They never bloomed again after moving in to my place. LOL! My patio is total shade and I never go out there so I don't bother to put any plants out there. I'd probably forget to water it. When I lived in a house though I always had flowers and all. Lots of work, but so pretty. Now when I drive by my old house I just shake my head because the beautiful flower garden I had before is covered in weeds and looks awful. I love Snapdragons and Impatiens! I never really had the sun to grow anything though, everything had to be able to grow in the shade. Everything is starting to bloom here. In a few short weeks everything in Georgia will turn a pretty shade of yellow. Ha! Hate the pollen.
Guess I better go and get some work done. Need to get caught up on work. If I wasn't behind before I'm really behind now!

Hello team!

It was a beautiful day today! I stopped by the garden center on the way home and bought my impatiens seeds. I like white ones and I can only find them at MacDonald's nursery. I found some marigold seeds at work, I haven't looked around the house for the ones I saved yet.

I bought some chocolate gold coins because we are going to pretend that a leprechaun came in the night and made a mess in our classroom and left gold coins everywhere. We have so much fun putting things in disarray. We even put green food coloring in the toilet. The kids go nuts! They really believe we were visited by a leprechaun.

Shirley- I am sorry that you feel like you have to go in to work tomorrow. Please try not to push yourself too hard. Is the secretary normally like that?

Pat- Where do you get all of your energy? My goodness, it would take me 3 days to do what you did in one! I need to eat whatever you had for breakfast !LOL I hate to admit that I tend to be a little lazy. Sometimes I will say Ok, Do 5 things and you can read for a little while. Then I come back later and say Ok, Do 5 more things and you can read some more. That is probably why I am slower than you. It is all of those reading breaks!

Well, I guess I will sign off for now. I have laundry to fold, laundry to wash and seeds to hunt for. I hope everyone has a good night.

Shirley, if you're still feeling so bad that your'e still on bland foods, I really don't think you should go into work tomorrow. It's up to you, of course, but honestly, I've had a stomach bug like the one you're describing, and I'm pretty sure if that secretary at work was feeling how you feel, she would be in her pajamas or comfy clothes, at home, resting as much as possible too. I'm impressed that you're able to do laundry. Don't overdo it, ok? Since it's only the two of you there at home, and while you're sick, no one is likely to drop by for a visit, I'd let the bathrooms go until you're feeling better.
emoticon emoticon

Beachcomber, at least you got your supplies ready, so when you locate the final seeds, you'll be ready to plant. If you're using a little peat-pot starter kit type of deal, you could put on some fun music and enjoy planting all your seeds. I love marigolds. They are so bright and just pop with bright color. They're a strong plant too, so they'll stand up to strong winds and heavy rains without losing all their petals. :)
emoticon emoticon

I've been movin' and groovin' all day long, and I've gotten so much accomplished. All the front yard work is done except for mowing (so pruning, lava rocks, edging, etc). The trucks came by to pick up weekly yard waste just as I finished pruning my last bush in the front yard, so they emptied all my bins of clippings, and now I have empty bins to do the backyard bushes! Yay! What good timing!
emoticon I've dusted the whole house, vacuumed and made sure to use the little crevice tool on the baseboards since I always skip that and dust accumulates right there all the time. LOL! Spring Cleaned the hall bathroom, did two loads of laundry, cooked dinner and the dog's meals for the week, and of course school lessons, and wow, just so much. I even stopped to walk on the treadmill at lunchtime and took time to talk to my neighbor who was worried about the crime from yesterday. I got her to laugh when I told her that her Chihuahua was her guard dog, so she didn't need to be worried. emoticon I'm sure I'll be exhausted at bedtime tonight. LOL!

I'm still alive. This is the most wickedest stomach bug I've ever had. It's like it has attached itself to my stomach and won't let go. I weighed again this morning and I have lost over 6 pounds now. I feel like it and I look like it! I'm so so weak. I called the secretary at work this morning to tell her I was still sick and she sounded like she didn't believe me. I was thinking you really don't want me to come to work and give it to you. So now I feel like I need to go back to work tomorrow. Which is crazy. I'm still eating bland foods and still getting sick. I'm just done with it all!

Thanks Pat for the Spark Goodie, that was sweet of you to check on me.

I feel your pain about the crime. Living in Atlanta is the worst. The crime is awful here. There are specific places that I totally avoid, like my old neighborhood. It's just so sad. One morning I saw on the news that there was an armed robbery in our apartment complex and that's frightening enough and then to walk out my door to go to work and police and news crews are blocking my way out because it happened in the next building over. I live in a huge complex. And it's gated or supposed to be but half the time the gates don't work for some reason. Have lived here awhile and they are broke more then they are fixed. They got fixed real quick after that happened and now they are broke again. Need to move and just can't afford it.

So I'm off to take a shower, today I have managed to wash the sheets on the bed. But not sure if I can remake it or not, and have done two other loads of laundry. I throw in a load and then go lay down for awhile. I really need to clean both bathrooms bad. I so hope my husband doesn't get this. I feel like I need to hire someone to come sanitize the whole place. The thought of going back to work tomorrow is so overwhelming me. Just the thought of getting up and dressed and driving to work and sitting there for 8 hours. UGH!

Supposed to be 79 degrees here today. I rode with my husband to get gas in his car yesterday and it was so nice to get out and feel the sunshine. A beautiful weekend that I spent laying on the couch.

Good Morning! Wow the weekend went so fast! I can't believe I am back off to work so quickly. I did not get my seeds planted. I did gather my supplies and bring them into the house. I realized that I bought the veggie seeds but not the impatiens and marigold seeds. I will try to get them today. I saved some marigold seeds from my plants last year. My dog ripped the plants up and dragged them all over the yard and sometimes into the house. I had marigold seeds all over my house so I picked them up and saved them. I just don't remember where I put them!

Sandra- I hope your husband's ring turns out nicely. I haven't fit in my ring since my son was born almost 14 years ago. When I get to my goal I will probably have them resized. I will never be that small again. That weight would be too small for me at this point in my life.

Jane- Keep dodging that flu bug. We have had that going around our school too.

Pat- Oh! That is so scary about the multiple stabbings. It really hits home when it happens somewhere that you just visited. Keep your doors locked and an eye out when you plant today. I saw a show once (not trying to scare you) where the woman was gardening in the front and left her back door unlocked. The bad guy sneaked in the back door of the house! I used to tether my last dog to the basketball hoop when I gardened. She had a nice long chain and she loved to hang out with me while I was gardening. I will probably try that with Bella.

I can't believe your tomatoes are ready for cages and mine are still in the envelope. LOL I plan to plant tomatoes, squash, green peppers. marigolds , and impatiens. I may buy some other things like hanging baskets too.

Well, I was supposed to leave for work 12 minutes ago. Have a great day everyone

Good Beautiful Monday Morning! emoticon

Jane, it's definitely scary knowing that kind of stuff is out there. Even scarier when it's just down the road from my house. When neighbors heard (because kids have to walk to school bus stops today, and we want to keep all the kids safe), they all said the same thing--"Here?" Because no one can believe it happened here. Really, our area is just families and lots of full-time resident retirees and part-time resident retirees from up North (Snowbirds) that usually go home around Easter time once their homes in the North thaw out a bit. I woke up this morning and checked every local news source I could find on the web, checked the police twitter and Facebook pages, and I hoped they'd caught someone, but nothing was posted. Hopefully we'll hear something soon. Until then, we all need to be careful.
emoticon Awww!! Your pups love music too?? Isn't it cute how they get so relaxed when they hear something they like? How are your dogs about fireworks on the 4th of July? Does music help them during times like that when dogs are usually under a lot of stress?
emoticon

Hi Elise, I'm happy you'll be seeing your doctor this week, and I hope that you feel better each and every day. Enjoy your beautiful 50 degree day. Spring has sprung in your area, it sounds like! Yippie!
emoticon

Has anyone heard from Shirley? I was worried about her since she was feeling so sick the other day. Hopefully she's feeling better, but I'll drop by her Sparkpage this morning and let her know we're thinking about her.
emoticon

Today, I'm going to be bouncing in and out of my house. I want to spread the new bags of lava rocks I got yesterday into the front flowerbeds, put some solar lights out there to brighten the front of the house at night, prune some bushes, and plant the two Mexican Petunia plants in my backyard and add some chemicals to the pool, and then I have my normal school lessons inside with my son, and I also want to continue to do Spring Cleaning. I also have a mountain of laundry to get done. lol I'm going to be like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, bouncing all over the place.
