LOVE reading all the chatter going on in here! I'm always encouraged and motivated to read how other members are doing - the ideas and tips - the ups and downs --- it all makes me so glad that we have this team!

I went to doc for my 4 mo. checkup and he was very pleased with my weight loss --- when I told him I had joined WW, he said "I love WW" -- he went on to say that it's the only plan that prepares you for eating the right way for your life - not just a quick fix, but a sensible and doable plan to eat for a lifetime. I think he had mentioned that years ago to me, but I don't recall really listening ---- duh ---- bummer ---- and I sure shoulda! Oh well --- like they say - no need to cry over spilled milk! I'm just thankful I'm on my weigh now and that I have all of you wonderful WW team buddies on the journey too!

It's going to be a wonderful week ---- b/c we are going to make it just that!!

Off to a great start this week! I went to the "habit" website and posted my new habit~~NO eating after 8pm. This is the worst time for me. And all ready another lady there said she was doing the same thing. GREAT website!!

My walking is really not going to add up very fast. My arthritis in my feet is horrible right now with this crazy weather up and down and then cold and raining. Will do my best..

Have a great day everyone

Spent the morning in 3 hrs. of professional development but at least on these days we get longer lunch breaks so I was able to run home. Another meeting at 1:00 and then work in my classroom. Hard to get steps in when we're sitting in meetings all day. I'll try to get in some laps around the school building this afternoon.

Had a really good Saturday and today is going great!!

Kim~~we have several treadmills here in the gym so I really need to take advantage of it. They have a really nice bike too. I am struggling with arth. in my feet so I need to hobble up there and use the bike.

I am really interested to hear how you like the chip maker too, Flora.

Have a great day everyone

wow Flora!!! You have my curiosity on the collard chips! Please keep us posted on how it goes with you after you get a maker --- I can't picture a chip coming from a collard or coming from the microwave!?!?!?!?! But I have a vision of the LOW point value and HIGH health value!!!!!

Hope everyone is having a super OP Saturday ---- we are really cold here and it's snowing a bit more --- and I have a full blown case of SPRING fever!!!!! It could be a long winter as I don't usually get the fever this early!!!!

The temps in NC are just about the same as SC, so like you Mona it is just a bit to cold to go outside walking , so will be some exercising inside. Just started WW again this time it is a WW at work so think there will be lots of support. Looking forward to being a member of the team. Something I want to share with everyone. I love Chips, one of my downfalls. My co-worker a sweet little guy wife was given a microwave chip maker for Christmas and he made some collard chips and brought them to me to try. When he brought them to me I had to admit to him that I did not like Greens of any kind. Oh my God, they were the best thing I ever tasted. He said you wash the leaves, like them dry, then throw them in a little olive oil and salt. I liked them so much I am going to get myself a maker. Found you can get them at Bed Bath and Beyond for $20.00.

Wishing all a wonderful weekend.

It's cold here too, but then it always is in Jan. in Iowa. We're to get some snow and blowing later which makes it a good day to stay in. I got 35 min. in on the TM this morning and did a 25 min. kettlebell workout. I may go work in my classroom for a while, but I did bring a lot home so I may not!

BRRR! I feel like I no longer live in the south~~it is 34 with a wind factor of 25. Was going to start walking with my pedometer today but I just don't do well when it is this cold and windy. Going to go for some groceries so I will walk around there and get some steps in.

Planned my menu until Wednesday and then planning to do a weekly menu. Wednesday is senior day here and you get a nice 5% discount off your total bill.

Plan to go to early church in the morning and then out to breakfast with the family. Life is getting better every day.

I'm back down to 5 lbs. lost. I've lost the same pound and a half over the holidays. Next week needs to be a loss of some pounds I haven't lost already!

It's a cold and snowy morning here, but I am up and about and ready to head out to my Weight Watcher meeting! Wouldn't miss it for the world! I am blessed to have found a great class --- love the leader, love the receptionists, and have made some wonderful supportive WW friends there. Hoping to hit my 10% today . . . . . .

Hello everyone. Going to really try and do it this time. I have the WW online but don't really "chat" with anyone there. I have always loved the support and friendships that come from the different Spark teams I have been a part of.

I joined the winter trip challenge and dusted off my pedometer. Going to be slow going for a while but looking forward to adding a few more steps each week.

I have the same problem. It's easier to eat less while I'm at school. I seem to save up points just in case....just in case I'm starving later, I just feel like eating, I'm bored....I need to work on the same thing.

Kicking off WEEK 3 of the Winter Trip Challenge!!!! It's never too late to join us ---- just come on in and start moving! We'd love to have you!

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I've come to the conclusion that timing is everything! If I save too many points until the evening, I don't lose as consistently --- I do better if I spread them evenly throughout the day --- duh! I know, I know ---- it's not like we haven't been taught that ---- but I tend to get busy during the day and don't "need" to eat as much as in the evening ---- but we live and learn and I have learned that better spend them evenly and lose consistently! I've got to remember this . . . . . . . . . . .

Bummer! I'm sure you were a bit disappointed --- I know that when we go out for dinner and I do all my "homework" -- I really look forward to going! But better to be safe than sorry --- we have had a dusting of snow and the temp is getting a bit cold again - but no surprises so far! Don't like too many of those kind of surprises --- matter of fact, I think I may be starting to catch the spring fever and it's way too early for that!!

I like the WW points plus plan too. Seems like kind of a no brainer and you're not really counting calories. I needed something like that to get me going again. I think it's easier to track on Spark but I'm tracking on WW right now. I'm paid through Feb. and then I'll decide whether to stay on WW or just do Spark.
The family was supposed to go to dinner tonight to celebrate my son's 25th bady AND his gf's bday too. Same day which is crazy. We had a surprise, short lived blizzard so we postponed. The roads are very slick and we're under a wind advisory too. I had already looked up the nutrition info online and had found something healthy I could eat. We'll make it up later.

I love spark far more than the ww website --- I'm on the monthly WW plan and the online etools are free with that plan, but I find it not nearly as beneficial and easy to use as spark. The spark just has it ALL and it's so easy to find things and the support from other members is awesome! and it's free! So thankful for sparkpeople --- but I do love the WW pts plus plan --- basically, I just gotta have both!!!

It's been a good Thursday so far --- looking forward to a successful, OP day!

Thank you ladies! But please know that I appreciate all of you too ---- I love being involved with active teams as well! When I joined WW at the end of September, I thought there has to be WW teams here on spark --- but I was a little surprised to see that the teams weren't real active on a daily basis. Probably b/c if you're a WW member, you are either going to meetings or online -- both offer some support, fellowship, tips/tricks, etc. But there's just no place like sparkpeople and all that is offered here can apply to WW too -- we just have to convert it into WW language! I have a feeling that I wasn't the only sparker looking for WW interaction --- I just started making some comments and connections and this team came to life!!! I am thrilled with the excitement going on in here ----- and we all know that Weight Watchers works!!!!! (just watch the commercials --- they tell us that all the time!!!!)

Let's keep the team alive and well ----- it takes a team to ---- well ----- to have a team!! -- lol -- !!!!

Feeling a bit stuffed up --- I think I will take a nap and stay fairly low key today --- no need to over do it since it's Sunday afternoon. Lots of people were coughing and blowing noses during church this morning ---- not a good sign!

Good morning, I'm going to order a Spark Activity Tracker. The reviews seem (mostly) good with a few people having trouble syncing it to their computer. Does anyone have one? Any thoughts? I am finding my pedometer a little bulky and I find it hard to attach on "dress days."

Plant Nanny ---- I love this!!!! All these cute ways to stay focused and on track makes me wonder how I ever got off track in the first place!!! Thanks for sharing --- the more the merrier when it comes to tips and tricks to help us get to our goals!!!

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm having a great OP day --- just got back from taking our DD to campus -- she's been home for a month and we've had big fun! But I must say that she brings not only joy to our household but a good bit of temptation too!!!! She eats like an elephant and weighs about 100 to 103 on any given day! BOO! not fair! but I have learned to NOT try and do as she does in the area of eating --- b/c I could easily eat like an elephant and if I did, I would also look like the elephant!!!!! LOL - gotta keep my sense of humor! Any way --- as much as I hate to see break over, I am glad that we're all getting back to a normal schedule. Our school was cancelled yesterday and today - so we will be hopefully back to normal tomorrow. I teach just 2 days a week and love being "on schedule" --- keeps me in line and organized in so many ways other than just school stuff -- I love it!!!

Happy and Terrific Tuesday ---

Wow, fast work, JANE1216. I just clicked the page back and there will the goals. For anyone tracking water intake, I can suggest a cute app called Plant Nanny. You get a little cartoon plant and every time you drink a glass of water, you give one to your plant too. It grows and flowers (or wilts and dies if you don't drink enough for a few days in a row!). You can create several different glasses and bottles so you can record if you had just an 8oz glass or if you drained your big sports water bottle.

Good idea, NEWJEANSDAY! I totally agree. I'm way more successful when I've planned what I'm going to eat. Ideally, I like to plan a week of dinner menus with some soups and dips added in for quick lunches (I work at home). When I don't do this, I'm more apt to wander around the kitchen "looking for trouble" as we say at my meetings.

Daily tracking is probably the most important thing I think. But how about phrasing it "daily planning and monitoring"? I find it so hard to stay within my points allowance if I don't plan. But monitoring that you ate what you planned is just as important...

Hi, I just noticed we don't have a team goal. Since this seems to be a pretty active team, it might be fun to have one. I'm going to suggest daily tracking as a goal. That is the key to success with WW, in my humble opinion.

emoticon

Even when we have splurge days (and you gotta have 'em!), tracking it all makes it workable. Any other ideas?

Hi, it is so nice to see some activity in this team! I am a long time WW member, lifetime since 2004, joined in 1981 and eventually lost about 200 pounds to get to lifetime. The reason I stick with WW is because there is NO keeping it off without support. I am fighting off the 5 pound December gain right now, I have to lose about 3 more to be able to weigh in free. I use that benefit to keep me at or near goal. I plan to be at goal again before February, so hanging in for support any place I can get it.

Life is good

I attend a Saturday morning WW meeting and our leader did an overview of the Simple Start so everyone would have a full understanding of how it works. There were quite a few on it and loving it --- and several had "ah-ha" moments and said they were going to give it a try now that they understood it better! Our leader even said you can switch back and forth between the tracking and the Simple Start -- once again we have flexibility beyond words!!!! and that's one of the reasons WW works so well -- got to have that flexibility! I'm doing well on the tracking so I'm going to leave well enough alone for now --- no need to mess with success! But I was impressed with the details and glad we went over it like we did - it's good to know how it works in case I ever want a change or need a little excitement in my plan.

I just had a very tasty dinner --- salad (of course!) and then in my OrganicGreen skillet, I put a little water, chopped onion, broccoli, and cauliflower -- let it simmer until done and the water was gone then topped with a slice of WW American cheese and the strings of one cheese stick! It was only 2 points+ for the whole skillet and yum!!! More than I could eat - so I have some left for later if I get hungry!

I've been following the Simple Start program since Thursday. I've had to make a few adjustments since we have a temporary residence in Arizona and I don't want to go overboard on buying groceries. So far I think it's going well. I don't have a scale here so won't know what my weight is until I get back home unless I find a meeting.

I can feel for you with the cold weather. It is supposed to be 40 below zero windchill back home tomorrow. That's why we decided to come south for a couple of months.

The road to success always has detours.

I know every single excuse not to eat right or exercise regularly - except for a good one.

This is the place to come to post your "Daily Chat"! A little of this and a little of that!

I will start by saying that I'm having a great weekend! No WEAKend here! Going strong and loving the feeling that I get when I'm on target! On the down side --- it's freezing here!!! We are looking at a forecast of 5 degrees tomorrow and below zero on Tuesday ---- WAY too cold for me!!!

Happy Sunday everyone!
