I'm planning to do the smuttynose rockfest half marathon on september 30th with my boyfriend and my little sister. Last year I was just a spectator as I watched my boyfriend and his friend do it. This year I'm gonna participate. I'm biking across america this summer which should get me in pretty good general shape. When we get back we'll still have about 2 months to do running specific trainig so that's my plan.

That's awesome Tvhuff..I totally agree I it is much more fun training for something than just exercising. Out had really kept me motivated.. I joined a group called Team in Training and they have changed my life. Now I do smaller races based on how fun they look and by which beneficiary gets help from it. if you or anyone reading this had facebook please feel free to check out my page called Angi's place....I have a series of notes that tell about my journey with TNT and how out had changed my life....funny thing is I would have never even done Tnt if not for the motivation I get from spark people....

This is an addiction I am glad to have.

I completed my first Half Marathon at the Disney Marathon weekend Jan 7th 2012. My next one is the Nike Women's Half in San Fransisco, in October of this Year. The rest of the times, I am running 5K's and 10K's and other arena events like the Disney Tower of Terror night 10 mile race in September...That's my test run for Nike :) And also a Myfirst Tri next month.

This has become such and addiction. January 2013, I will return to Disney Marathon weekend and run the Disney Full Marathon.

Just one? AFC Half Marathon in August. Best views of the city. Sells out early, though, because it is the third race of the Triple Crown Series (with Carlsbad and La Jolla).

Scott - Thanks for the insight. I'm looking forward to Tulsa. I hear they know how to throw one heck of a party. I'll have to make sure we hook up. I'm probably going to drive up after work Friday. That way I can relax Saturday and enjoy.

John - I will make my way out there. If there was any race you had to do there, which one would it be?

Yeah the Andy Payne I did is pretty boring since it is just around a lake that runs near the highway. The worst part is the Oklahoma heat when I did that it was in the 90s I am pretty sure. Also, the red dirt dust that was blowing around since the lake was at a historic low at the time and boats were bottomed out near there. However, I ran it last year because it is nearby and I figured if I needed to be dragged home, then at least it was not too far. lol.

The metals at the Route 66 are pretty awesome. My only complaint with that race is trying to leave Tulsa they shut down the highway entrance to return to Oklahoma City so you have to go about 10mi out of your way to head back home.

I have wanted to do 1/2's at some of the more scenic parts of the country but travel funds are nil. =(

San Diego has the La Jolla Half (hills!), the Rock and Roll Half (meh), the AFC Half (beautiful!) and the Silver Strand (along the Bay). We have plenty for you to run out there.

I will hopefully be doing 2 different ones this year, which are the same ones I did last year: The Andy Payne 1/2 and the Route 66 1/2. Andy Payne was my first ever half last year and I managed to shave off 15mins when I did the route 66 one towards the end of the year. I am hoping for even better results since I have been doing ALOT more long runs and already managed to shave 4min off a PR for a 10k this year.!

Signed up for my 3rd Half Marathon which will take place on November 11th. We be doing the Rock N' Roll San Antonio Marathon. The last two times I've walked and finished in 3:43 both times. This year I would like to run a little if the hip and back will let me and finish in 3:00 but I will take anything under 3:43. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Congrats and addiction, indeed.

I already have a full calendar of events, and I decided tonight to add the Laguna Hills Half Marathon because it is a fundraiser for Darkhorse 3/5, a Marine Corps Infantry Unit. How could I say no?

Yep. I'm addicted.
