Hello ZORBS,

Thank you. I just might (probably) send you some questions. Right now I would be close to you in 2009.

Thanks again, Konrad

Welcome and thanks for taking this on. One suggestion: Remove all the stickies from the topics - or come up with strong justifications as to why they should be sticky.

I find stickies generally annoying except for some very special types of discussions. For example, same questions come up repeatedly, need to be read by everyone, etc.

To take an example, "Hello from your team leader" is not the type of thing that needs to be sticky. It's nice to know your background but it ties up a slot in the general discussion forum and, well, it's not a discussion topic (or if it is at the moment, which I guess I'm making it, it will soon hopefully cease to be). If you insist on wanting to show your bio permanently, make it a sticky in the "Introduce Yourself" forum.

"Trail Shoes" barely even qualifies as a discussion - it's mostly people posting what they're wearing - as if that's of any help to anyone else? C'mon - trail shoe selection is a very personal issue. And shoe models change regularly. The initial post in that discussion is from 2011!!

"4 things that I will do today to reach my goals" is a kind of inspirational discussion (c'mon - that's not a "discussion" in any sense) that should fall or rise on its own. If people stop posting to it, it will fall away. If people continue to post to it, then it will naturally remain near the top on its own - so it doesn't need to be "sticky".

Admittedly, the problem with "stickies" is exacerbated by the limitations of the SparkPeople forums. If users could show more topics in each forum on the team page, I wouldn't find the stickies so annoying but since the home page is restricted to only showing a handful of topics, we have to work with that restriction.

Strangely enough, I'm the last person who posted in the introduce yourself forum below.

Since then, I have run 2 ultras, and pretty much run trails exclusively now, except when volunteering as a pacer for road races. I have been running since 2007, exercising regularly since 2000, and unlike most runners, I strength train regularly. Ask me anything about running or fitness, I probably know the answer!
