I am glad to read that you are still active in tae kwon do. I haven't been back to the dojo in a week and trying to find the urge. My family and friends said it seems like the fun of it has vanished from my heart. Perhaps they are right so I've been avoiding it for the past week. Although I was happy to see my instructor's tournament mentioned by USA Judo in a recent email that I received. I forwarded it to him with a congratulations.

I have totally lost my spark...In a lot of things in my life as well as here...I have been checking in here every day tho...and as of late, i have been reading some very inspiring blogs from a few on here...I am still very active in tkd...i also have been taking lots of cortisone for injuries as well as joint issues...so the more i take, i better i move...but the more weight i gain, the less i am able to move...a catch 22 that has gotten me in a funk emoticon

Struggling to get my spark back. Currently my work-outs haven't been as fun as they were in the past. The main reason is my instructor is hosting a tournament that I won't be competing in or assisting with. First, I am not a competitive person and second I have to work that weekend.

I am sensing disappointment over my not competing this year from him. I am debating on sending him an email for an actual sit down and talk session outside the dojo. I feel this would be the right thing to do.

working on getting my spark back! I have had a summer of injuries and have done some serious backsliding

Started P90X a couple weeks ago but missed quite a few days so I restarted it this morning from day 1. Cant do any of the Plyo moves in it yet but have come up with what I hope are pretty good sustitutions, ever try a squat jack? lol!
I'm also trying to get back into TKD classes on a regular basis, I have been avoiding those all summer also because the stances & jumping would agrivate what I thought was achillies tendonites but has turned out to be a ruptured tendon.
I'm hoping once I start losing a little weight I wont have as much pain in the tendon and maybe it will start to heal properly.
Really want to start running again but that will probably have to wait.....
So, what is everyone else doing to get their Spark back??
