So I have been dodging this post for awhile...Still looking for that next job...lots of interviews but no offers. I called one of the last places and asked what was wrong or what was I lacking? The interviewer told me I was not a good fit...What the hell does that mean? I still keep plugging away. After the last couple of interviews my healthy eating went to hell...and I gained like 20 pounds so knwo I am starting over and refocusing on what I eat!

Hey all first of all I would like to say thanks for the support from all of you....So here is the news I didn't get the position but I am not giving up. Ironically I have an interview next week with a full time fire department for a temporary full time fire fighter / paramedic position. So even though I didn't get the flight position, I have another opportunity.
I am going to try to contact the manager to see where I was deficient, so that I can shore up those weaknesses.

Hey all thanks for the support, I went for the interview today. I interviewed first with the Medical Control Doc. I completely enjoyed talking with him, he actually asked me how soon I could start, interestingly enough. He loved the layout of my resume...first time I was ever complimented about my resume.
I interviewed with the crews that were on that day. They were an interesting group. Two flight nurses and one flight medic. Again I really enjoyed talking with them. They gave me a couple of scenarious and I feel I did ok with them. They weren't anything real difficult, just real vague.
Last and finally I interviewed with the manager. He seems to have a very flat personality. I really wasn't sure what to think of him..He really picked at my resume and wanted to know numbers...like how many calls I make on the volunteer department and the like...I am not sure how I dod with him at all.
All in all it did not feel like three hours and wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. So thank you again and now the next step is to wait and see what I here back from them and to send a thank you note to them. I'll let you guys know what I hear and in the mean time I am going to keep up with my weiht loss plan.

Ok, I have been lurking on these boards for awhile and I have finally decided to say hi and ask for help and input. I until now, have been very half committed to losing weight. I am a volunteer firefighter, first responder, POC EMT for several small ambulance services and a paramedic in a small local ED. Until I have been content with myself, relizing I need to lose weight, but not having a real hard reason to lose until the last week. I have had the opportunity to interview for a flight medic postion, something I would have dreamed of for quite some years yet. I feel qualified but my weight is now a serious issue. I need to lose 20 pounds to make flight weight. Part of me wants to call them up and tell them that I will not make weight requirements, but I also now this is an opportunity. The side of this is they do, do ground transports too, so part of me is hoping they can hire me unto ground while I train and lose the weight.
Is this more faulty thinking on my part? Should I cancel the interview? It is a three hour interview and I don't want to waste anyones time either. I applied on a whim thinking there is no way in hell. But they gave me a call back one week after the screening interview, so I know there is a serious interest on their part?
Plus if I decide to go through with the interview process, are there any tips any of you out there can give on doing an interview with a hospital based ground and air transport service? The more suggestions the better!!
Thanks in advance!!
