Great job! I have barely even been logging in lately, though that's probably exactly what I need. Hopefully now that I realize that, I will back on track here.

I hope everyone's week is off to a great start!

That is awesome. I've been having a hard time with the scale but the exercise is great so a little progress here and there is great!

The scale was down a bit more at the pool this morning.

It is very hard for me to believe. It has been years-and I mean YEARS!_ since I have made any progress in this area!

I have to be diligent about caring for myself. 100 DAYS OF WEIGHT LOSS is a great way for me to keep focused. Day 1 is July 1, 2017. Build habits to produce success. Most of these habits I have at least tried before but did not sustain. First habit: delay eating by using a timer.

Dh's youngest got off to college last Sunday. Monday and Tuesday I sorted thru the clothes he left behind and took most of them to the Thrift Store to donate them. Kept a few of the memory-makers such as soccer stuff with his name/number on them. Most of them went - I figured if he didn't like them enough to take them with him, he probably would never wear them again. 3 weeks till the next one leaves, and I can sort thru what he has left!

We've finally got a fire lit under him. Today his list includes: hair cut (I supplied a half-price coupon), school supplies (list made last night), bank to deposit last week's paycheck, sort laundry so he can see what he still needs to buy clothes-wise. He is still working at Staples up until Friday so he needs to make good use of today since he doesn't go in until 4 this afternoon! We wish we had a hidden camera to see him after a couple of weeks on his own - he cleaned out his car and gifted me with two loads of clothes. How in the world do you accumulate two loads of clothes in your car?

We're working on getting DH's youngest ready to head off to college next Sunday. He has put it off and now we have 7 days left and he has no concept of what he wants to take with him. If we pull this off it will be much more than a small success! Today I got together school supplies. That's my small success for today!

I am so glad I did take the classes and the advanced class I took twice. Of course the college is "cutting" all the community classes now so they won't have them next year.

My small success today is I have lost 2 of the 4 pounds I gained while the kids were here!

Photoshop classes are so much fun - I just wish they lasted more than 1 day. There is so much to learn! He said the best way to learn Photoshop is to just play with it. Bring in a picture and experiment with filters and effects until you get more familiar with them and find your favorites. I would love to take a longer class at one of the colleges around here.

That's funny! Yeah, my town is quite a bit bigger than that. It used to take me 45 minutes some days to get to my job that was 6 miles up the road. And not on an interstate, a 4-lane highway!

The town I live in is so small we think a traffic jam is waiting at two signals in town. I can travel from one end of town to the other in 10 minutes most of the time. LOL and yet people do complain....

Funny how quickly your mood can change in traffic! We had a wonderful surprise this morning on our interstate - they finally finished working on another 4 mile stretch and opened up the third lane. Evidently they did it between my coming thru there at 7 last night on the way home from Mother's and our coming thru there again today at lunch time! Now if they would just finish picking up all those orange barrels. . . .

coming from So Cal where driving isn't for the faint of heart to the Oregon Coast where are nearest highway is 110 miles from us has been an interesting experience. I find myself being a courteous driver until... I get on a freeway or in a city and then zingo gotta need for speed. LOL

That is crazy! And the problem is, if the limit is 75, you figure you can go at least 78! We're pretty much 70 all around here except in the construction zones where it drops to 55. 70 is plenty high enough for me - can't imagine driving on roads like they have in Germany where the limit is 100 or so!

Just an observance......
In Kansas, Highway 24 between Manhattan and Wamego, they have lowered the speed limit from 70 to 65 because there have been many accidents in the last year.
Then this last week, Interstate Highway 70 that goes through Kansas, and is only 9 miles from Wamego, has just been raised from 70 to 75!

We live in a crazy world sometimes!!! LOL

I recycle everything I can. Can't get the teenagers interested, though. They go thru Gatorade bottles and Water bottles like crazy. Not interested in using refillable bottles and not interested in recycling the ones they buy. I have to pick their bottles out of the trash can to put them in the recycling bin. Maybe one day it will click with them.
Unfortuneately their mother (DH's ex) was (and still is) famous for throwing things away and buying new. Instead of washing towels, when the pile got too high she would just go buy more. Don't want to match socks? Just go buy more. All the drinking glasses are in the kid's rooms? Go buy more. And so that's how DH's kids view the world. Everything is disposable. So sad. We've been down to 3 glasses in the whole kitchen before because I refuse to buy more when they just won't bring them back to the kitchen. It's so funny when they have to drink out of a tiny little juice glass!

I love coupons but I am careful to only use those that are for stuff I normally use. I've had great luck lately with kitty treats.

My DH and I are recycle fools. We rarely have a full trash can as all of our paper, cardboard, plastic, etc get reused or repurposed. It is amazing what you can make out of trash.

Glad your son likes his job. I understand - I love being outside, too. Can't believe he does so well with coupons! There don't seem to be that many on the things we use. DH and his kids are meat and potatoes people - not much coupons for that. I did find a $3 on hair dye that I've got to use before Tuesday! LOL

We have that in Canada. C.Waites The buggies. My young son works for Private Garbage Department. He was looking through the newspapers. He does recycling only is his job. Plastic and newspapers. That is his truck pick up.
So he has just been working like three months. He gave up his job which was real good. Electrical Engineering. As he wanted to be outside. He is not a inside guy. Plus he wanted to write two books which he has. Well anyhow. Another bin guy told him. Bring a pair of scissors to-morrow and while your waiting at the truck stop before going home. Before hand collect all the coupons from the newspapers that hundreds of people throw away and never ever use. Then cut them out. On your way home one night. Go pick up the items.

So now he does that and saves them and he gets all his food free. It is not coupons so much off. It is free.
Then other times he takes the food home for his family and kids. I asked him what do you pick up. He said. Banana's. Chapmans Yogurt, egg's' crackers. Whatever.
Now since he has worked for the company he is slim anyways but now has loss 20 pounds. Now his Doctor wants him to get weight back on with the job so he has to have food to keep him not losing weight. . So he can have all protein and carbs. He now has gained pounds back. He said. Mom you come with me for a week. I guarantee you. Your weight will fall down the 20 pounds you wanted to lose. Big time. Lifting those bins with rain that has poured in them. Then up to the automatic machine that takes the bins up and into the truck. He works hard physcially.
So my little today's story.

Oh yes he is happy as a lark with his new job. Has all benefits paid . And has all weekends with family off. All holidays off that is out there.

He has taken the food to a couple whom the guy has loss his job. So these items come in handy.

I laugh as he has to use the buggy cart where you put in the quarter you mentioned and when you go out to the parking lot. You get your quarter back.

Enjoy the night for those who are in the night. As we are all different times right?

As for me. I am chilling out today and talked to a Spark member I met eamil here for 2 hours on phone in N.B.

So how nice.

We're a busy group, aren't we? I can't imagine ever saying 'I'm bored'. There is always something else to do! Took my granddaughter to visit Mother yesterday - have to take them one at a time because she can't handle too many people at once. Got her to help wash clothes, take out the garbage, check the mail, and buy groceries. We went to a place called Aldi's for the first time - you have to rent your buggy! It was so funny. The buggies are locked together and you put a quarter in to release the lock and get out a buggy. Then when you put the lock back in place, your quarter pops back out! When you think about it, they're saving quite a bit of money. They don't have to hire people to round up buggies, they provide no sackers and no sacks - there are counters set up past the register and you bag your own with sacks or boxes you bring in with you. And they only sell their brand and lots of fruits and vegetables at very good prices. Their brand of Cheerios was only $1.49 a box. We'll see how good it is, but you can't beat the prices. And we already tested the strawberries, canteloupe, and watermelon and they were great! Gabi thought it was quite an adventure!

I am the computer gal also. I have projects that keeps me busy mentally in craft room for some hours. Talk to my daughter at work or we email back and forth. She is the Pastoral . My sons work and on the road so don't bother them too much.
I tell you since I started the 28 day Challenge Bootcamp. Never a dull moment.

I love it all. It makes me more accountable for my fitness and eating portions.

I enjoy all my teams and only have 3 groups but I manage to get Huddle's in. Answer some blogs .
Look at photos from Sparks.

Do Birthday Greets. Sent in my email.

Manage to talk to the Lord and pray for others.

I am doing good. No photo's as it is not been really nice days and when I am out. I mow the front lawn and Hubby does the back. Twice a week as the grass grows with the rain.

It is a good idea to keep up your skills and add new ones. Practice is great. In my house my husband is the perfectionist and I'm the get r done girl. We balance each other. I am also the one with the skills when it comes to computers and fortunately, I can teach him most of the time without getting him upset.

There's always something else I can find to keep me busy - project after project just keep popping up. Right now I've got the hoses hooked up to the Reverse Osmosis Unit to purify some water for the aquarium, began doing some cleaning in the bottom of the closet to make it a little more useful, and I already took the trash and recycles out, fed the dogs, and made up the bed. My main project right now is to begin working on laying out the website DH wants to set up. You can get a website for about $100 a year so we're going to set one up and populate it with info about our hobbies. We figure it will be fun and also give me practice in using some of the web software I've been taking classes in. You know, if you don't use it, you lose it! Of course, it will be tough to actually open it up since we're both such perfectionists - we may never think it's good enough! LOL

Being unemployed and being retired aren't really the same. Unemployed means you still seek to work on your career and, usually, reduced income. Retired means you are totally free of all those obligations. I hope you find satisfactory work soon.

Get the diabetes under control first - I'm sure the scale will start moving again soon! That's great news!

My blood work showed I am on the mark doing well with Diabetes 2 and following guidelines for less chance of more kidney stones. Scale refuses to budge, though... emoticon

When I was away the four days. I did not gain weight. I was walking in the mall and really keeping active. That is what happens when I go back to the city to the Grandchildren. Never a dull moment. So was good. I ate only portions as well.

I wish I could visit her - my brother and his wife are flying up there in May for her graduation from pharmacy school. Once she gets a job I'll let you know where and see how close it is to you!

I love the rock formations on the coastlines in the west. I have a niece who lives in Oregon and she loves it. The beaches in Florida are beautiful, but they're all flat and all sand. I don't go in the water much, so the temperature doesn't really matter to me. I just like to look at it and listen to the waves crashing onto the beach.

The Atlantic Coast is so different from the Pacific Coast and the Pacific Northwest is way different than Southern California. I used to play at the beach daily in Cali as I lived a half a block from the ocean. It was warm and sunny. Here in Oregon it is beautiful but you won't catch me sunbathing or swimming because it is frigid cold.

What fun!! I would love to see the beach again. My son and his family go each year on vacation for several years. He loves Florida, even talks about retiring there some day!

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.

Sounds good! I would join you, but I've convinced Mother to go to Panama City Florida next week - don't expect I'll be eating exactly right. Maybe when I get back - sounds like a challenge I could do!

You guys make me feel ashamed of how much I don't like walking in the rain. I need to take up your cue. I've decided to give myself a 10 day challenge of eating right and staying in my calorie range. I should be able to do this for 10 days.

That sounds so nice! I don't mind a little rain as long as it's not too cold and not muddy. Rain makes things smell so nice and fresh. And good for you that you didn't let rain stop you!

I am trying real hard to get back into my walking two miles a day, 4 to 5 days a week or more.
I have been doing pretty good the last two weeks.
My small success today was walking in the rain!!!

I kept looking at the weather map and saw the little yellow blobs that are heavy rain and sometimes storms kept getting smaller. So when they were gone around our area I went out and took my walk.
But instead of taking my long walk that is partly out in country type area I just stayed within three blocks of our house and walked it twice. That got me a total of 1.8 miles! Yea....
I was excited when it dawned of me that I could stay close to home and walk and just do it two or three times. I was worried about a pour down or thunder starting when I would be a mile from the house and no houses around.

It was nice walking in the light rain and using my umbrella. I like listening to the rain pitter pat on it!! It was a nice walk.....

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.

I agree, eating healthy has a lot of effect on the body that doesn't aways show up around our waist.
I haven't been doing real well in weight loss for several months now.
But I can sure tell it was I eat healthy, instead of snacking, for a couple days in a row. I have more energy and even my moods are better!!

I have only lost 5 pounds since the 1st of December, but I can feel the strength training kicking in. I was able to lift both of my twin grandchildren at the same time and hold them on our trip to Co. and I can hold my 7 mo. grandson without back pain. I also can outdance my oldest grandson on Wii (pts.) but I'll never tell him. I feel stronger and can do more things so I guess I will just have to keep on doing what I am doing.

Today I actually met all my goals and I must congradulate myself for surviving all the drama of the first day of a new class cycle. It all seems rather fruitless right now but hey... I'll do what I can. I still have a job so I should be happy!

Oh how I wish... I have run around all day at work. One of my co-workers is off so I had a lot of fixing to do... Very annoying and not very healthy. I need to walk rain or shine and plan to a lot this weekend. I'll be at the mall and I know two full turns is a mile.

Got my butt off of the soft chair and out of the warm house this afternoon afternoon!!
I took a walk around the neighborhood. It was such a gloomy day and only 40 degrees.
But I felt so much better after I was out and about and so many Daffodils were blooming in the yards that really perked the day up!!

Wow, she was really surprised when we knocked on her door and there was my family and all of her family!!
Total of fourteen of us!!!!
We had soooooo much fun!!

All of the smiles and hugs can bring such joy to a day!!!!

I agree that 1000 is too low. DH is training his son for college football and stresses that you have to feed the body in order for it to work right. You just have to put into it foods that have lots of nutrients and not empty calories. 1200-1400 is where I try to stay, and the food tracker is good for helping you see any places where you are missing key vitamins or minerals in your diet. I love the daily report you can look at that tells you how much sodium, protein, vitamins, all that. Really useful. I take vitamins, but it's still interesting to see how I do just with food.
