I'm cleaning out my closet this weekend. Anything baggy goes out for donation. I'll have pleanty of empty hangers to fill. I was going to wait until I was under 200, but I'm so close and I'm down 40 pounds this week. I did buy 2 pairs of jeans and 2 nice t's yesterday to add to my meager supply of clothes that fit (2 pairs of pants and 5 shirts/blouses). I'm in no hurry to fill the closet up, because I'm still loosin'. I'm not done yet!

Well, the interview went ok, the lady was very cordial but on a strict schedule. Some of my friends said they couldn't eat for 2 days before their interview and me and my friend (whose interview was right after mine) both said we were nauseous when we were done with it. I think the tension is getting to us. Anyway, we'll know on Sept 29 what happens. The official "warn letter" went out Thursday saying all or some of our jobs will be eliminated. It's getting real now!
On a positive note, a cousin I hadn't seen since her Daddy's funeral in 2002 found me on FaceBook the other day. I'm printing off all my old pictures of her family for her (Walgreens had a nice dime-a-picture special just in time). She is planning on going to see Mother which will make her day. Neat application!

Welcome, Suzanne! Glad to have you with us!

Everyone please think happy thoughts tomorrow afternoon - my interview with the front-runner company trying to buy my company is then. In 3 weeks we find out who has bought us and who stays and who goes. Still tense times but it's almost over!

Good Morning: I'm new to this site & this group. I'm suzanne & I am 32 years old and am married with an 8 year old son. My passion in this world is photography. I'm currently taking a course through New York Institiute of Photography.

I love the idea of combining my weight loss and photography. I quickly read through some of the old posts. This seems like a great group and getting to know everyone.

Nothing like home grown tomatos! YUM When I worked, I used to trade tomatos for chocolate (the guy's wife wouldn't let him eat it at home) and we both thought we were the winner! LOL

My garden is long gone - we've already cut it down. Just waiting now to cover it with leaves for the winter! My Mother has a giant tomato plant, though, that she is so proud of - it had 27 tomatoes on it last week!

Sounds terrific. I am still getting fresh corn and my garden is still giving me some tomatos but they are almost gone. My sisty got a bunch when she was feeding the kitty. She said they never made it to the house she ate them right off the vine.

I am missing the fresh vegetables all ready!! And still am getting some. I picked four small zucchini today.

I made some tomato salsa or sauce or something today too and put it in the freezer! I put it in 1/2 cup containers.
I pick about 30 small tomatoes, like tennis ball size out of the garden yesterday. They were not as juicy as the earlier ones plus we are getting eating tomatoes from our neighbor.
Sooooo, I decided to make something to freeze with mine. I cooked them and added a Jalapeno and some onion. Then I cooked it down for a couple of hours. So I don't know what to call it, but it tasted good!! ha ha

I got my grocery shopping done, kitchen straightened up (as well as I could since we are in the middle of a remodel), and put a pot roast in the slow cooker. This cooler weather has me yearning for roasts, home made stews, soups and bread. I have a feeling the cooler weather fare is not going to be as light as my summer eating fare has been and it will call for increased diligence. LOL

I didn't get to go see him this time, I would really like to sometime this fall. This is his first year in the marching band!!
They sent me a picture last night from their cell phone of him and then another one while he was marching. He looked so handsome!!! ha ha

We've got football all weekend. Last night was the high school game - DH's youngest kicked 8 extra points, 8 kick offs, and 1 punt.
Today was the first college game but DH's oldest boy won't play in that one. He plays tomorrow in the JV game. It will be a daytime game so I hope to get some pictures!

That kidnapping was bizzare. A lot of crazy things seem to happen in this world. I am glad I live in a small town, but of course that doesn't mean things can't happen here too.....

Things were quiet around here today. Nice cool day. Just watched sports and Kenndy funeral on TV all day.....

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! It's pouring down rain here which is great! No watering for a few days!
Went to the hardware outlet my company runs this morning - they've moved to 80% off on prices so we got about $150 worth of stuff for $36. Not bad. DH shouldn't have to buy any screws or nails or tools for quite a while.
The hummingbirds have been wearing my feeders out! They are so much fun to watch. Trying to get some pictures but usually by the time I get the camera focused they're gone.
DH's son kicked a 42 yd field goal in his high school football game last night - DH was thrilled. We heard on the news that a referee and a team coach died at two separate games in other parts of the state last night. That's something I've never heard happen before. The coach was coaching the team that was playing against the team of the school I went to in Attalla, Alabama (many years ago).
And did you hear about the lady who was found after being kidnapped 18 years ago? That was really bizarre. Can't imagine how much therapy she and her kids will have to go thru to even come close to having a normal life. So sad that people could be so cruel to others.
Oh well, time for another load of clothes.
Cheri

I have trouble getting rid of plants in the yard, too. I feel guilty when I pull something up other than a weed. I read an article somewhere that said you should not be afraid to pull up a flower or a plant if it's something you don't like, but it's still hard for me to do - seems like such a waste. I would really like to re-do my whole bed next year and start over. I've learned a lot in the past few years and I think I could lay out the bed so much better now. I just hate to pull out all the perennials that are coming back so faithfully. Of course, some of them I'm trying to kill - like the balloon flowers that have taken over on one side. But naturally they are indestructible plants. If it was something I wanted to spread I wouldn't be able to keep it alive, but I haven't been able to kill the balloon flowers and believe me, I've tried!

That sounds like something I need to do too. I have way to much stuff too!!

We have had another beautiful day today so we have been outside cleaning up some things in the yard.
It is hard for me to believe we have lived here 30 years and most of our shrubs, trees, etc were planted within the first five years we lived here.
So we have a lot of old and overgrown things in the yard. We are thinning and removing some of them.
It is just hard for me to do that because I get attached to them!!! LOL
My DH gets frustrated with me!!! LOL
But things always do look better once we are done.

Sounds good! The farmers market is so far from my house I rarely get to go. Wish there was one closer. I've been cleaning all weekend - things were getting out of hand! DH and his youngest are cleaning up the workshop - that's LONG overdue. Maybe he can get to the point where he can actually find his tools again! LOL He hasn't seen most of them in about a year. I've been straightening in the kitchen and the office - way too much stuff. I've got a pile to send to my daughter, a pile for my Mother, 3 bags for the thrift store, etc. It will look better when I can get everything out!

Good Morning....
Not much going on around my house, just taking life easy.
Went to the local Farmers Market yesterday morning. Things are winding down for them too.
I did get some Blackberries, Brussel Sprouts, Pear Tomatoes, Cantaloupe, Corn on the Cob, and big Tomatoes.
Yum yum......

I was trying to spruce up my collection - a lot of mine are pretty old. It was fun to get different things for such a low price. I don't expect it to last a long time, but at least I have more to choose from now!

How neat!! That would be fun to shop for $1 jewelry!! Great for gifts, like you said!
I don't wear much jewelry but I do have a lot of it!! ha ha

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.

Way to go, Jo! Bone density is not a bad test, I had that last year. Not crazy about the mammogram, but at least it's pretty quick. I'm proud of you for getting all these tests out of the way!
I went to a jewelry sale with a couple of friends from work during our lunch hour and it was so much fun! They had a whole room full of tables with necklaces, earrings, and bracelets and everything was $1.00! Some sort of clearance they do once a year. They also had another room with full priced stuff but we stayed in the $1 area most of the time. I ended up with a bunch of things to use for Christmas presents and a couple for myself and only spent $26. We had a great time!

Well, all of my check-up tests are coming out with flying colors so far!! Everything within the ranges that they should be.

Just had my first Colonoscopy. The day before was quite interesting. Not something I want to have to do very often!! Had to drink a GALLON of water with some kind of meds in it. Half gallon during the morning and another half gallon in the evening!
And NO food!!
Guess I got my water drinking in yesterday!! ha ha
The only problem was that is all came right back out!!!! ha ha

But the check this morning showed no problems at all!! Not even any polpys!! I thought all "old ladies" had them!!! ha

Only two tests to go, Mammogram and Bone density tests. They will be in one week.
I feel real encourage to know I am healthy. I felt healthy but you just never know. It makes me want to try even harder to get the rest of my weight off!!
I may feel 10 years younger!!!! ha ha ha
