Wishing you a good week too!
My eating is more related to being on steroids for the UC than to good holiday food - right now I'd eat a cardboard box!
Stress is the biggest problem though, it fuels my UC. My doctor asked what caused my current flare, and he didn't bat an eye when I told him the stress from my step-mother. I feel fortunate that he understands the role stress plays in this disease.
Do others here have this problem with stress causing flare-ups? Any tips for managing stress?
I already exercise about 1 hour daily - walking or low impact aerobics + core strengthening exercises. That helps some....

Hope everyone has a good week. This can be a trying time for us UC people with all the good food. It is hard to eat wisely so take care one and all.

I just lay, take my meds, and pray it passes soon. I tend to just eat jello or part of anything soft and squishy. Mary

I would stay away from the yogurt. Sometimes dairy causes problems. Bread, you can get the sprouted bread. I believe Ezechial is one brand. It's usually found in the organic freezer section.
And just for grins, try a decongestant for your headaches.

For probiotics I take a pill. There is gluten free bread but it isn't very good. I just don't eat bread. We put stuff in lettuce or eat meal without bread. You can use rice and potatoes and there is good gluten free pasta.

One step at a time.

I've tried yogurt for the probiotics but my stomach just sends it flying through and usually accompanied by cramps. I've switched off dairy for now. I'll see how it goes. I might do the wheat. What do you use instead for bread?

So NSAIDS will put you into a flair. Tylenol is pretty much it for prescription free temporary pain relief. I know Tylenol doesn't do much for migraines. Personally I avoid dairy and wheat always but the only thing that got me out of my last flare was immune suppressors. You could try diet adjustment, slowing down, and probiotics. I wish it were easier to figure out what helps.

One step at a time.

I also have migraines. There has been so much negative attention about taking prescribed pain killers that I tried using aspirin to manage the chronic migraines. As a result my hiatus hernia flared up and I am having constant bouts of running to the potty. I'm basically tied to the house. It's been years since my UC has been this active. Any suggestions to get it back under control? I've upped my ASACOL. Should I go off milk and dairy products?
