I have no secrets! LOL Truly lol i have told everything to someone at some time or another!!

But seriously, i have battled my weight since i hit puberty and suffered so much emotional trauma from age 11-14 that as you said i ate my feelings.

I have dealt with those years ago, but bottom line is i LOVE to cook and i LOVE to eat! I have a husband and three teenagers (and a grown son thus the grand babies) who LOVE to try whatever i make as long as it has no vegetables and lots of meat and or cheese!

I have no idea WHY i have more confidence i can do this this time, only thing i think is different from a hundred other attempts is I am Closer to God i think. I quit praying for a magic pill to make me thin and just asked for HELP! I know i can't do it alone.

Stilll need to work on the ME first, it's just not how i am wired and so far that seems to be my biggest hurdle this time around. Not that i don't think i deserve it really just i take care of EVERYone else. I am the rock that holds things together, etc!

But.... i am trying to work on that! emoticon

Good evening Cindi, thanks for the reply. I do understand when it comes to the grand babies..that's a whole different kind of love you can't explain. And for the weight gain, you got this, just don't give up. When I read..what was MY secret to the 115 lbs. lost, many things came to mind including how and why I gain back 92. The majority of the loss was due to illness which caused me to be in the hospital for two months. The Dr. put me on a 1200 calories with 3 carbs items per day. I hated that plan. I don't do low fat, low sugar and low anything very well. Many days I just didn't want to eat because the food including 2nd choice were artificial. When I came home I tried to follow the plan but how can you follow a plan you hate? So My 1st step, follow a plan you can deal with but is healthy as well. Some people do well on two protein shakes and one healthy meal per day. Me??..no I like to chew.
My 2nd step please don't let life get in the way of not taking care of yourself first. That's were the 92 lb weight gain began. 3rd I am an emotional eater, what emotions were I trying to keep from coming up by using food to stuff it back down. A book and it's study guide called Sweet Freedom, Losing Weight and Keeping it Off with God's Help by Teresa Shields Parker opened my eyes to the issues on dealing with emotional eating and this book helped me a lot. And my 4th step NOW I believe in myself that I can lose the weight. It's one thing to say I need to lose weight but do I believe I can when facing I have a 100+ pounds to lose and deep inside there is doubt I can't do this, especially on my own. Just make a plan that will work for YOU, it took a while for me to learn that. These steps are only a few and I hope it helps and as you can see I love to chatter too...LOL. BTW what are some of your secrets for weight loss? Have a great weekend Cindi...

I am usually around more than the last couple days, i have been spending some quality time with my grand babies! SO much fun!!
But they go to their Dad's for a week tomorrow so the next week i will prolly be driving everyone crazy around here!!
I am curious, do you have any secrets from losing 112# last time around?? Most i made was #60 but put about 40 of that back on before i came back!
I am committed this time, these two babies remind me WHY i need to get healthy before my body starts a down hill slide!
Ohhh and btw, i am kinda chatty LOL as if you hadn't figured that out!!
Have a GREAT day!
I am off to plan out my weekend eating a little so i don't get caught in a trap!

Today I officially started back with Sparkpeople after gaining back 92 lbs. of my total weight loss of 115 lbs. This time I learned how to stay in my own lane, always put myself first and that this journey is more than a boil egg and a half of grapefruit. Have a great week everyone!

DEE, LOL, yeah, that's always good. And on some days, that's good enough!

I'm still weak and icky from the flu. Yesterday I made healthy meals and actually did some upper-body chair exercise. And posted on Spark, and tracked my food.

1. I did an 11-minute seated cardio video. I'm in horrible shape!

2. I deleted someone from Facebook who was extremely negative.

3. Somehow avoided cooking and eating the pasta I was craving today. It wasn't from real hunger. It was an urge to binge-eat for the sake of eating. It wasn't easy. But I just kept taking one minute at a time. I still want to eat it, but I'm not going to.

Man, some physical energy just creeped up on me and caught me unawares - don't know how come.

perhaps due to some multi-vites i took?

35 minutes of walking to bus stops before and after work.

cycled to pool and back

swam breast stroke for a few laps and tried out my rusty old back stroke

Just to freak myself out i should get up and pick up some dumbbells and throw them around for a few minutes.

Yeah! I managed to avoid caffeine, except for 2 sips of vending machine coffee that tasted like dishwashing water.

other than that:
a regular glum weekend day at work.
I'm starting to get worried about some unusual symptoms I've had for a few weeks - involves pain
like did my skull crack ?
did i get a concussion - does my brain really feel bruised?
did i have a stroke ?
is it extreme high blood pressure come back ?
severe withdrawal symptoms from caffeine addiction and caffeine poisoning?

if it goes on another week - i'll have to go see a dr.

I'm always too exhausted these days to blog much - but i have dozens of blogs in me to write up - i have to remind myself to keep thins simple.

I push mowed the OTHER half of the front yard... OMGosh!!! The first half I did yesterday was Bermuda sod... today's half was Fescue... It was WAY harder!!! I finished!!! So tired... So sore... but I did it!!!

Hi all,

I was feeling down this morning, and didn't want to exercise, but knew I'd feel better after, so I told myself to do only 5 mins on the bike.

Well, it was over so fast, so I set it for another 5 doing hills. With the music playing, I hit it for another 5 mins with hills.

So, now my plan is to exercise hard in 5 min increments every 1-2 hrs during this summer break. It adds up, and I don't feel overwhelmed. Can't wait to see my mins add up for today. emoticon

Cooked a healthy dinner instead of eating out. Usually after hockey practice we grab food out. Today, we were both starving, but came home cooked chicken breast with fresh lemon juice, garlic, potatoes and broccoli. emoticon

I was busy, ate fast food twice and still came in under my calorie count. I also got home late from my son's ice hockey game, but still rode my bike for 25 mins. That wouldn't have happen 2 weeks ago.

I pray this streak lasts through the year. emoticon

I rode my exercise bike for 30 mins on a tough program while lifting 5lb weights. I had to drop the weights on the really big hills, but it felt great. emoticon

I finally got up off my butt and worked out in the morning. lately I have been putting it off til night. I know I burn calories all day if I begin earlier. So I am so relieved I did it.

My son helped me after my first 30 mins. He is very thin and athletic. This evening I will ride my exercise bike.

I feel really good and strong. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi,

Just read an email from Sherry. She says there are great things happening here, and I see she is right. I'm back, and hope to be more consistent.

Ok, what I did that felt good besides returning to the group? I did as much as I could of 3 different exercise videos. I loved the ballet one on Roku. Love the fluid movements, it made me feel beautiful. Yesterday I tried Pilates, and boy was it relaxing. I almost fell asleep.

I'm going to post something here hopefully daily. I want to feel good everyday. We all do!!

Downloaded a bike speedometer app that can be used for any time of movement exercises.

I logged in my food on the fitbit sight, which subtracts the amount from the total amount I am alloted to eat accordinbg to my height and weight. This app helps me see my steps in real time and how my food choices affect my weight journey.

Went to church, ate healthy, cooked meats for Monday-Tuesday. Bought a bunch of discounted meat (day old meat) for a great price. It is still good meat just was on the shelf for 1 extra day.

well cruddy weather so change of plans ended up going to walmart in stead- so went to get 3 things, sheets, puppy pee pads and a storage tote, in and out within 45 min and did 675 steps and this was about 1045 pm so i had to walk to other side of store to check out so i was kinda excited for that just to have more steps on the app so while waiting in line i was kinda marching in place does that count too haha! im learning and trying, its so hard when i have these ailments that can prevent things at times :(
