6 yo, 15.1hh, buckskin, 3/4 foundation Quarter Horse, 1/4 Percheron mare; registered with IBHA and NAERIC; the steady one for family/friends

7 yo, 15.1/2hh, bay paint gelding; APHA registered; newest addition (9/5/10) intended for Ranch Horse shows and Extreme Cowboy Competitions with hubby (might steal him though!!!)

8 yo, 16 hh, bay TB gelding; Jockey Club registered; rescued gelding, been on loan for 4 years to a lesson/4-H program

8 yo, 44", chestnut pinto shetland/welsh gelding; my son's pony who he has sadly outgrown, on loan for use in therapeutic riding

12 yo, 15 hh, dark bay Oldenberg/Morgan mare; semi-retired eventing mare, on loan for use in lessons/4-H

Half-owner with my mother of a fabulous Arabian weanling colt... was an oops where she bought a broodmare and a couple weeks later she had a foal... Surprise!!! Top bloodlines, fabulous conformation and prior owners didn't want him. Should turn out to be a top notch stallion and hoping to train for Reining and maybe cow/ranch work.

Pictures of are on my page.

Thanks, she's a great horse and was well worth the $30 we paid for her. She's kid broke and is a goofball. She loves to chase her boy across the field and pull his hair!

Hi Everyone
I own a Hanoverian X thoroughbred - 20 years old this year, and I love him to bits. I was lucky enough to inherit him from one of my freinds husbands (who never really took to riding). I shared him for around 2 years before owning him. I'd waited 38 years for my own horse and its well worth it. I wouldn't be able to afford it if it wasn't for my friend having her own stables and only paying minimum livery - I have her to Thank for giving me the opportunity to have such a beautiful horse and helping me so much with my lifetime dream.

I have a Polish Arabian, Xandy. He's getting up there in years, past his mid-20s. He's a fantastic horse, one of those awesome horses you only meet once in a lifetime.

The barn I work at is extremely diverse, everything from Norwegian fjord horses and shires to quarter horses and thoroughbreds. Lots of warmbloods, too.

Hi all. Nice to see a page for horse lovers.
I have a 15-year-old Polish Arab named Mysterious Me.
I call him "Mystery". We aren't competitive but
trail ride around the farm where he is boarded. I have recently been doing "Parelli" training with him
and enjoy the progress we have been making.

I have a black American Saddlebred stallion that I have raised from a new-born. He is very well bred and has been shown most of his life in halter, park and fine-harness. He has a beautiful son. I pulled him from the show ring because I just got tired of it all (traveling, politics, trainers, pressure etc.) and needed a break and time for me to get healthy. He is now standing (hiding out) at a local farmers 100+ acre farm/barn (away from the show stuff) and is very happy! He has a new outdoor pasture to run and be free in, no shoes, normal length tail and gets muddy! :-) I have owned many horses and would love to have a trail horse someday to enjoy.

I have mainly Quarter horses, but her it goes...LOL! 2 bay reg. QH, 2 black reg. QH, one palomino QH, one grey QH, one sorrel QH, one reg. Sorrel paint, one bay paint, one bay/wt. appaloosa and one reg. Sorrel/wt. appaloosa, 2 miniature horses. How is that for a mix LOL! I have barrel raced, pole bended, team penned, showed western pleasure, racking horses, english dressage, halter....I am right now the trail boss for a local Saddle club and love to trail ride. I am working with a couple of great prospects for barrel racing. :) I love to break and train any horse as long as they have good sense..

Yeah they do. I was really excited about it too! But he decided he'd just had enough of being in the ring. What's best is I could hear my boyfriend and stepdad laughing at me. Mom yelled, "SMILE!" As if I wasn't embarrassed enough! It was still fun, though. I had a good time.

Hi all! My mom has my horse, but she's got quite the assortment. She's got your average paint-looks-like-a-QH, a few gorgeous paints, a couple painted drafts, a clydesdale, a percheron, and 2 drum horses.

In the future, I'd like to get into Drums and Gypsy Vanners. They are beautiful animals and are so great to work with!

My mom and I did a show this past weekend (I was home for a week) and we took the yearling drum colt. He was quite the handful for my mom, but once I got him, I walked, trotted, and set him up outside the ring like a champ. Go figure once we got into the ring, he stopped dead and refused to move. emoticon Needless to say, we didn't do so well at that show, but we had a good time.

NOELISONE- there are challenges for everyone on this site. To start out, why don't you just challenge yourself to track your food and exercise and drink the 8 glasses of water a day. Most of the challenges have that anyway. If you like Wii, there are Wii teams, there are Biggest Loser Teams. there are teams for everyone.

It is fun to look and find out about the horses other folks own. Lasarre, it sounds like you are very busy with your horses. I found out that Mr. Ed was an American Saddlebred. I recently rented some of the old shows and watched them with my teenage sons. We enjoyed them. I am real new to posting and navigating around this site. I will figure out how to sign up for some of the challenges. It looks like it is all encouraging and fun. emoticon

Hi All,
I just found this team. I have 2 saddlebreds. Cosmo (Accepted Offer) who is 4 and I got him at an auction in October. He showed for the first time ever yesterday and won his class. My other horse JC (M&N's Buck Almighty) is 5 and we bred and raised him. He was 2nd in his class yesterday. It is always great to meet other horsey people.

Hello, I am new to SparkPeople and I think it is great to have Horse lovers to speak with. My horses name is Noel. She is a7 year old Mustang mare who was rescued in Utah when she was about 18 months old. She is a sweet palomino horse and was green broke when I got her 4 years ago. She is now my partner on the trail. She and I love bareback riding the best. I have a cart and am attempting to train her to drive. emoticon

Hello all,

I have 2 apps (mom and son), an impressive line quarter horse, and an arabian. I lost my 20yr old quarter horse mare a couple of months ago and I really miss her. She spoiled me because she was so loving and gentle that I had no worries when I rode her. The other horses not so sure about. But I'm working on it. Of course last Monday evening the young app ran over my foot so I've been out of it all week. Didn't break my foot but really bruised.

Hi! I just joined, too. I have a 14 yr. old Tennessee Walker gelding. You and I weigh the same and have the same goal weight! I am so stiff and inflexible now (I think it's the weight) that I rarely ride. My horse is very tall and even with a 3-step mounting block it's difficult to mount. I feel so bad about it all!

Hi Honeybear, I enjoyed reading your post. I'm 54 yrs. old and have osteoarthritis in my knees. My horse is a 17hh Tennessee Walker. Even on a 3-step mounting, I really have trouble getting into the saddle. When I put my left foot in the stirrup, my knee really hurts, then when I swing my right leg over the saddle, I'm so inflexible that it hurts, too. I rarely ride anymore because I'm afraid of a fall (I hate to admit that!) But broken bones don't heal well at my age, and from a 17 hand horse it's a LONG fall! I hope to get in better shape because I truly do love to ride. Nice meeting you, and I'm glad your daughter enjoys riding!

Hi! I have a Tennessee Walker, too. His name is Mojo and he's 14 yrs. old. I can ride him in the arena, but he's awfully spooky here on the Colorado trails (smells mtn. lion, bobcat, bears, deers jump out, etc.) I don't ride him often; I'm 54 with osteoporosis and am afraid of a fall (he's 17hh) in addition to his spookiness. But I love grooming him and walking with him on the trail (and it's good exercise for me, too!) I think we can all enjoy our horses w/out riding them. He's my best friend!
