My bride of 47 yrs. would always order Brisket when we were stationed in the Southwest so when I started smoking meat I approached the first Brisket cook with more worry than confidence. She had loved my pulled pork and ribs but Brisket is much more difficult to get right. The first 3 attempts were edible but not great. On my fourth attempt I finally got it right. She really enjoyed the Brisket and then proceeded to tell me that since she was a kid her favorite BBQ was pulled pork. emoticon For me, pulled pork is the easiest meat to get right. I may never cook another Brisket. emoticon

One thing I like about smoking meat is that the low and slow cooking renders out the fat and makes the meat much healthier.

I buy Bar B Q Sauce but also make one myself. My husband is Scandinavian and for Christmas, they have spare ribs and Swedish meatballs. The recipe is from his mother.
In Texas, near and in Austin, there are loads of Bar B Q places and so good. On the way to see my parents in West Texas we always stopped in Brady for some good food. Back in Minnesota. I do miss those trips. My mother made the best brisket and she used Claude's Marinade to get the best results. I have found this sauce in Minnesota also.

We use our grill all year long. Some meats just don't taste as good cooked any other way. We don't use BBQ sauce as much as we marinate.

Hope is here-Perfection isn't

God Bless

Love anything cooked on a grill. We use our grill 12 months a year -- even in the snow.

I love foods cooked on a grill; but, I do not like added BBQ sauces.

Do you like to eat BBQ or do you cook BBQ? I bought a cheap bullet smoker in 2010 and just got a rotisserie for my grill. My wife really likes BBQ and I have fun learning how to make it taste good.
