Twoofthree, fortunately yoga does not require such a decision of you.

Best wishes to you on meeting your goals, and deepening your practice.

That aspect of yoga is something I don't feel I could ever embrace.

I tend to eat much less meat than most Americans. I love doing a few vegetarian meals a week. (I particularly love Indian food, so that makes vegetarian meals something I can look forward to!)

That was excellent advice and I can't wait to share this with a lot of folks I know!! Thank you.
I have been vegetarian for a few years and almost completely vegan for the past year. honey and a few eggs mixed in with my SIL's cookies and such are just about the only exceptions. I did it gradually and it has worked for me.

NAMASTE --The divine in me honors and respects the divine in you.

Just for today I will do my best to do what is Good, kind, right, and nice, even when it is difficult.

Hi, Andasi,
your note shows how we are all in different places on the path... each of us finding what is right for us in the moment. If you are drawn to a vegan diet, maybe you'd be interested modifying the plan -- to "Weekday Vegan"
Best to you in all your efforts,

Thank you for the post ! I myself am a vegatarian i do not consume meat at all. I do eat eggs, cheese, yogourt and cottage cheese. I wish i could go without the dairy and be full vegan but i jut cant do it. I get strong cravings for protein and the grains, vegies they just dont satisfy the need for animal proteing.

Thanks for sending on the link. I found it very intriguing. I might start with two days and see how I do. It should be easier in the summer and especially since we start getting deliveries from our CSA (community supported agriculture) farm next week. We are getting fresh veggies every other week and fresh strawberries, raspberries and apples weekly when they are in season.

Lost 65 lbs and maintained since 2006.

There is no requirement to be vegetarian if you practice yoga, but many yogis gravitate in that direction... Here is an interesting perspective on 'going veg':
