That is so cute about the kids. Sounds like they are future track stars.

Thanks, yes. Friday was a crazy day and I didn't get a chance to eat, but I didn't resort to snacking or grazing on my kids' leftovers, and for that I am proud.

I am reading a book about "all or nothing" type attitudes and I think I carry this through everything. I am a perfectionist and think that if one thing goes wrong that I just declare the whole thing a waste and forget it. In the line of work that I was in, this was an asset, since I had to be completely detailed. But, in most other things it drives me crazy. I am working on this.

Today was much better, eating wise. And, I snuck in some exercise by walking my kids to our local high school and letting them run around the track. My 2 1/2 and 5-year-old love to pretend to race each other. They ran around the track twice. Pretty good for little ones - everyone on the track was cracking up, since they pretend to jog. Towards their final lap, I stood on the bleachers clapping and cheering for them, like I was a spectator.
Thanks for the support.

Your main problem was not enough to eat during the day. Your breakfast and lunch were lacking in calories so it was inevitable that you would overeat. Hunger is our enemy. You need to space your calories and carbs out. Make sure you eat a minimum of 1200 calories a day.

Every now and then we take off the wraps. Sounds like a charming evening. Italian and Mexican food can be loaded with carbs though. I don't eat that cuisine as much as in the past, but every now and then I treat myself to it. Every day is now a new day.

As far as I can see it wasn't the NIGHT when you messed up.
Egg on toast and yogurt was your food for the hole day?
That's when you messed up...that's the root cause.

You shouldn't hate yourself for messing up, rather find where you made the mistake.

While you were eating, did you enjoy it? I sure hope so. It was just one meal. Now move on and don't beat yourself up. Just get back on track with your next meal/snack.

I walked 4 miles today. I ate lightly - had an egg on one slice of low carb toast for breakfast, then was busy at lunchtime, so just ate a Dannon diabetic/low carb yogurt.

Then, came dinner.

We went to this lovely little family-owned Mexican restaurant in our town. So pretty, with Mexican art and those gorgeous hand-painted pottery plates. And, a tray of crisp, freshly fried homemade tortillas and a crock of chunky, homemade salsa right next to them.

I abstained for as long as I could, but it took about 45 minutes to get our food, and I was dying, so I dug into the chips.

I ordered Tacos dorados, which is my favorite thing there & is so bad. It's 4 tortillas stuffed with grilled chicken, then fried (tortillas are small - like cigar sized). And, over the top is lettuce, tomatoes, onion and a couple of radish slices with a white creamy sauce - maybe sour cream, but something added to it, like cheese.

So, delicious. I should have eaten a salad or a piece of flank steak.

How do you not let a slipup turn into the slippery slope theory, where you completely start gorging. So far, so good, no dessert, and no digging around in my mom's chocolate dish when we stopped by after dinner.
