Good Evening! I'm finally able to get online. My knee surgery went well yesterday. Some pain and very uncomfortable but okay. Doc said if I didn't lose weight he would next be doing a replacement instead of a repair. More incentive for me!
Hope everyone had a good day and are looking forward to an even better one tomorrow!

Pam

Sue -- you're an amazing inspiration! I would KILL to get into 14's! I guess you got it right -- just do a little at a time and BE CONSISTENT! Good job!

First day back w/ kids -- so far so good! My great aunt had a saying about the man who fell down the elevator shaft. As he passed the 3rd floor he said, "Well, so far, so good!" Let's hope I never hit bottom!

My report from the doc was good for the most part -- cholesterol was a little high but that's my husband's fault! lol He likes all those fatty foods but HIS cholesterol is perfect! How is THAT fair? lol She double my anti-depressant Rx and it seems to be working. We are beginning the semester with research papers so this should be quite a test of my new dosage! But so far, no random (or unstoppable) tears. Yay!

I have signed up for the challenge as well. I best get moving -- I don't want anyone else to show me up! Thanks for your continued support, love and acceptance -- whether I eat right or not, exercise or not, I know you lovely ladies are here, without judgement and only offering support. So, again, thank you!

I think of Cats in the Cradle when I think of my days. The new job's a hassel and the kids have the flu but its sure nice talkin to you all.

Treading daily and sleeping with aids. All in all I am keeping up but rat races are not for me. Can one retire with NO INCOME?

Sue god to see you. Wow you grow hair fast! And drop weight quickly too! Size 14 is amazing. My left leg fits into a 14!

Raine, I hurt too. Its not fun. Keep at what you can do cuz it pays off. Just dont take yourself out of the game. Be careful.

Jen, Holly and all you inspiration ladies, make me proud. Off to log my miles. Love ya!

Sue - CONGRATS! Wow! That's a real accomplishment.

Sock - so sorry your feet are still giving you trouble. You're doing such a good job of keeping at what you can do, though - you are a great inspiration!

Wendy - that story completely cracked me up. You must have had a wonderful dad.

Holly and Raine - great work keeping on keeping on!

I've been sticking with my goals - 2 days down/118 to go! Onward!!!

Hugs,
Jen

Hey guys, you alls sound like you are doing great! Good for all of you. Holly, thanks for the bootcamp link. It keeps coming up with an error. I'll try again tomorrow. I've been doing daily wii sports 60 to 75 minutes. Sparks now allows you to log the tennis (that's where I really burn calories) bowling etc. The arm and shoulder are still painful but going to work through it until it puts me down and see what happens. Hopefully with time it will all get better. I have to work on some projects tonight, so off to get my shower and then start working. Hopefully, I can get it done and still get a couple hours of sleep tonight.

Night all, keep up the good work everyone!

Love you all.

Wendy, that is really funny about your dad! Sounds like he was a very practical man! And good for you with the treadmill -- you are doing totally fabulous!!!

Jen and Holly, I do a lot of modification of the bootcamp exercises sometimes. I do what I can and substitute what I can't. We have to listen to our bodies, especially when we have arthritis and other issues attempting to call the shots. I just work around everything as best as I can and keep moving.

Just did my video for the day and off to ride the exercise bike now. Feet still aren't healed enough yet to walk or swim. Today was my first full day in shoes and I couldn't wait to get home to lose them.

Holly you reminded me of when my Dad was alive I went over for a visit and was horrified to see him on the floor! He said he got down there to pick up something and thought what the heck while I am down here I may as well paint the baseboard and that is exactly what he was doing when I found him. We laughed till I cried. Thanks for that one.

I sure miss my pop. I will be the age he was when diabetes took him. 55. Do I need any more motivation?

Did the treadmill and found time to pop in here. Its a good day!

I started the boot camp challenge last year and felt kind of frustrated by it due to some of the more really strenuous exercises. I think it's kind of a "one size fits all" challenge. More power to you, Sock, for getting this far! Woohoo! Holly, I'd let yourself quit if it's too much. I found it bad in terms of some of my arthritis issues. Sock's being the smart Sock she is by modifying.

I'm on Day 2 of my 120 days. Again, so far so good. I'm really liking the goal setting exercises on the January Sparkcalendar. That's been a nice little reminder each day when I work on them.

Holly, it's nice to have a clearer picture of your family. Does Kevin get to visit Billy when he drives to MT? I'm so sorry he live so far away. My nephew lives in that area - in Chaska.

Wendy - isn't exercise actually addicting? That's so cool!

Hope everyone has a fabulous Tuesday evening!

Hugs,
Jen

Oh yeah...some of the exercises are quite interesting. I think I blogged about one of them -- my rear was sagging so much I never got it off the floor. emoticon

There are some on the back, some on the stomach, some on the sides. The back and sides I can sort of, kind of do. The ones on the stomach I skip because of my hernia. What I recall is push-ups -- I'll do those on the wall or on my desk instead (standing up instead of being on the floor). Same difference as far as I can tell.

Holly, the bootcamp videos that have lunges and heavy knee stuff -- I have a lot of trouble with them, too. I can only half-do the lunges and won't push it because my knees don't tolerate them. I also have problems getting on the floor. Overall I just do what I can do on the videos, if there's lots on one I can't do I'll find another that I can.

Hope everyone is having a good week so far. Today is my first day back to work. Bleh. LOL!

Claire, sorry to hear your trip was so stressful. Major bleh!!! Glad you were able to do what you needed to do, however, and that you're back home again.

Very exciting to read so many of you are doing the bootcamp challenge! I should have been doing week 4 this week, but I took last week off from everything pretty much, so I'm doing week 3 this week. It's pretty cool and some of the workouts are awesome. I hope all of you enjoy it as much as I have.

Speaking of bootcamp...I spent much of the day running errands before returning to work tomorrow, and I need to get tonight's bootcamp done!

Hugs to the divas!

Claire, so sorry about your trip. I guess I missed reading this was not a pleasure trip...and I guess it turned out to really not be fun. Sorry. At least you and hubby got to see some new sights and were together. Together time is never lost time.

A friend shared the following prayer with me. I love it and thought I would share it with my friends here...

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things about my body I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can for the better, and the wisdom to know the difference and get on with my life. Amen

I love the "get on with my life" part.

What is the boot camp you are all talkinga about? I did a search to see where I missed it, but couldn't find it.

Have a good night everyone.

Hugs
-Raine

Claire, what a whoosh of a trip. I had you lounging in a colorful suit by the gleaming pool with your loving man by your side. Well there is next time, right?

I too joined the boot camp. I have yet to look at the page. I dream that I might find time. I am doing a work out a day however. No new me, just the same one trying to climb that hill that gets higher every year. Dont tell anyone but I missed working out while I was off playing and still tried my best to sneak them in as often as possible.

We will do this thing ladies, one day and one step at a time. I am finding that keeping it going is what is giving me results. Never enough but just doing it.

Hello lovely ladies,

Looks like most of us are back into a routine or almost there. It feels good to start a new year and know that we are working towards better health! Let's do this! :)

Did anyone else start the 28-Day Bootcamp Workout Challenge? I was a bit nervous about joining it but I started Day 1 today.

Best wishes to everyone! emoticon

Claire - what a trip! I'm so glad you're back safe and sound. It sounds like it was just incredible. Can you put this all behind you now?

Wendy - so happy you're so up! I hope you still have at least a little time for us. ;-P

Raine - lovely, inspirational writing, as always. Thank you.

Holly - we mailed the enrollment deposit for Connor's college today. And now I know when he'll be back next hear for Christmas vacation and when he'll return. Sigh. So it begins for us. So do you have three? Two boys and a girl? (Well, all adults, obviously). Where do Billy and your baby live? What's the baby's name?

Pam - Congrats on starting NEW! We'll all do this together!

Myra - glad you're on that high!

Koogswife - Hope things are going well for you.

I'm on Day 1 of my 120 days to healthy habits goal. So far so good. ;-)

Have a wonderful Monday, all!

Hugs,
Jen

I'm back..... The trip wasn't what we had planned or hoped for but we accomplished our mission. First we spent a night in Miami b/c we missed our connection to Bermuda. We tried to make the best of it -- rented a truck and explored the city (we had about 24 hours there). When we got to Bermuda, there were 40 mph winds, and it was cold and rainy. And b/c of national holidays there, the banks didn't open til Wed. So we putted around on a 50 cc scooter (in the wind and rain) to make the most of our time until the bank opened. Then, on Wed (we were supposed to leave Th), we went to the bank with the paperwork we were told we needed to close my father's account and empty his safe deposit box but it wasn't what they REALLY wanted. So we spent the day in the lobby, trying to work the problem out. MY brother and my father's lawyer worked from their side, we from ours. Finally, after the bank had closed and most of the employees had gone home, they gave us the assurance that we could complete our buisness the next day (we were supposed to fly out at 8:15 am). We were able to change our flight and stay another day in our room (they owed us one for the night we spent in Miami). We got the job finished about 1 on Thurs., had the rest of the day to ourselves (it was even sunny at times). We left Fri am (up at 4 am and at the airport at 6). Since then I've been unpacking, doing laundry and resting. It was a stressful trip and we were soooooo glad to be home.

Back to school for me today -- yee haw! We'll be starting our research paper right off the bat so we can get it out of the way. That's the plan anyway!

I haven't had time to read the posts -- this is the first time I've turned on the computer since I've been home. I'll catch up. Happy new year, one and all!

I took down the tree and put away the last of the holiday stuff. Finally swept the floors.

Went to the store and packed lunches for the week for both of us. New job, new year and great new attitude. Actually looking forward to a new week.

I feel sad that it is all over but this winter I am not depressed gang. HUGE update there.

Since 07? Seems like yesterday. Think of the births and losses we have shared. Wow. Long time with some great ladies. I love this board.

It has been a happy new year so far.

Holly, I am with you, I want my kids close, moving in is fine too.
Love the pics girls. Fresh faces.

Claire, I am still jealous of your trip.

New job does not allow spark time but I am going to try to wedge girl talk into my new really busy schedule.

Cant miss my treadmill time or I will rust.

Have a great week divas! Go out and be fabulous!

Great day! Got in my cardio and a 10 minute core! Ouch, really have a hard time with laying on my back. Butt is still too big, but I did it anyway. Next core is crunchless core, that will be easier. After dinner we are going to Wii dance for at least 3 songs before I park it on the couch for a black and white oldie. Hope you all have a great night. See you tomorrow.

Hi All,
I'm beginning day 2 and still on the high from day 1. Today will include taking down all the christmas items, doing the weeks laundry and with a little luck I want to rearrange my living room but hope my hubby is available to help.

Energy is beginning to flow, people putting Christmas away and cleaning up the "morning after". Another season behind us, another new season around the corner, all ticking up to being another season gone by.

Tomorrow is too big, yesterday adds to all the other yesterdays, so for today, I will take today. One day, one moment of peace, one moment of joy, one moment of loving to the max. We all have so much to be thankful for.

May 2011 be an overwhelming connection of moments lived to the maximum for each of you wonderful ladies.

Hugs to all!

Nightskystar- I thought I wanted them around all the time too until one moved back in. She didn't stay too long. Love her but can no longer live with her :)

Wouldn't it be cool if we really COULD hit the exercise bike with Tina Turner? I just love her.

Off for my "long" yoga routine. Happy Sunday!

D'Oh! I posted on the old thread!!! Here's what I posted yesterday; now I'm going to catch up with the new posts. I wondered where everyone was!

Happy 2011 Divas!
I'm with everyone else - ready for the "normal". I have a group of 4 teenage boys sleeping in my living room, so taking down decorations will wait until later today. We had a party last night for Con, several of his friends, and some of their parents. It was fun, and most people left around 1:00. We have WAY too many goodies left over, though, but Dave will bring them in to work on Monday, so it should be fine (he's very popular when we have leftover goodies). ;-)
I just really want to spend the next two days organizing, centering and resting and then hit the ground running on Monday. I'll have to do some prep work tomorrow for the student meetings - at the moment, I'm not even sure who I'm meeting with and for what purpose! ;-P So, yeah, I guess I'd better prep a bit.
Well, Sock - we've reversed - you have the cold and snow and we have 50 degrees today!!! It's raining right now, but I'm hoping to go out later.
Myra - welcome! This is a wonderful group. Congrats on your 1 month sparkiversary and on your meeting the boot camp challenge!
Have a good start to Saturday, everyone!

Hugs,
Jen

Hooray for the first day of the new year! Glad to see Sherry and Myra and everyone are doing great!! I've had a good day as well, and am about to hit the exercise bike with Tina Turner (a DVD lol!) -- I'm totally freezing and riding to the beat of her music really gets me warmed up after 15 minutes or so.

Let us continue on this wonderful journey!

Happy New Year everyone~ Can you believe that some of us (Holly, Wendy, Claire...) have been here together since 2007????? Great friendships, not much progress as I look over my logs. Did do moving with the WII today. First tennis and bowling for 45 minutes then this evening DH and I bowling for another 30. The ache that was in the arm and shoulders is on fire tonight, but hopefully, I can shake something loose. Good luck everyone.

Happy 2011 ladies. I am blissfully happy and ready for a fresh start. I wish I could say it was a perfect month of staying on track but the good news is I am still ON TRACK.
Wishing you and yours all the best for the new year. Hugs to all my divas from coast to coast.
