Good to know you, Tessa!

I have a Tri Teammate from the UK who always teases us when she goes back to the UK to do fun Spirts there! One of these days....

I've also noticed a great Tri enthusiasm in the UK. No question, they have more & better Tri magazines and the best of Kit choices as well!

Wishing you the best in your training! The most important things to remember is:

1) Have Fun
2) Keep Moving
3) Finish

BAM! You got this!

I'm from Bedford UK!

Just about to start tri training (at a very gentle level). I've had plantar fasciitis for a year which is getting better so haven't been running at all.
Hoping to make it to the end of a sprint tri in May here in Bedford (indoor swim).

I think it's great to set a goal race to do. Pick one and commit to training. I say a race is just a test of your training. That's the hard part, the training! You nail that, you own the race. I started with Sprints as well. It's good to get comfy and work on the technicals of the race, i.e. Transition, mounting and dismounting your bike, and good swimming pace.

Last Year, my goal was the Marine Corps Marathon. Because of that, I only did St Anthony's Triathlon in St Petersburg, FL. (I love in Dunedin, FL) This year, I have committed to St Anthony's Tri again along with The Rotary Dunedin Tri, IM North Carolina 70.3 and TriKW (Key West) I might add a couple sprints along the way.

I think Tris are great for the cross training alone. Then, having fun on your Tri! All the best in your training and don't hesitate to check the forums or ask questions.

Where I live now: Northwest suburbs of Chicago

Where I've lived in the past:
Anchorage, Alaska - don't remember anything, I was a baby when we left!
Cleveland, OH - got a baby sister!
Princeton, NJ - learned how to bike and swim; got a baby brother!
Grand Forks, ND - learned how to road bike
Cincinnati, OH - started running for fun and exercise
Cleveland, OH - college
St. Paul, MN - met DH, got married, had DS, stopped riding, got plantar fasciitis, stopped running, kept swimming
Cincinnati, OH - had DD, gained a bunch of weight, kept swimming
Seattle, WA - lost some weight, got back into biking, got back into running, did my first triathlon and my first century bike ride (it's really hilly out there!)
Moved to Chi-town in 2015, lost some more weight, did some more centuries and one more triathlon.

I'd like to do some more sprint triathlons, and work up to an Olympic. I live in Graylake, which has a good lake for training (beach entry, non-motorized), and Lake County has some good cycling, and the forest preserves have good running trails. I took last summer off of training for triathlons because it was my first summer working full-time after being a SAHM for 7 years, and I wanted to make sure I was spending time with my kids. I kept running, biking, and swimming, just without a specific triathlon to train for.

This year, I'd like to get at least one triathlon in the books!

Take life one day at a time - enjoy today before you worry about tomorrow.

Super cool, I have never been to any of these states. I will however go to Florida next March! Fort Lauderdadle to be exact. Super excited about it. Will be for pleasure, not for work. Also probably not going to do much training then lol.

Midwest Girl Here - Wisconsin. Enjoying the summer, anticipating the tundra of winter!

Getting healthy is like getting through boot camp. It's a lot of hard work, and some days you want to quit. But when graduation day arrives, memories of pain and trouble pale in the light of the pride and accomplishment you feel. You made it! You didn't quit.

I will be participating... not sure how competitive I'll be, as it is my return to tri for the first time since last August, and with only two bike rides under my belt since then. Still, it's a Sprint, on my "home" course (transition is about a mile and a half from my house), so I'm confident I'll finish it.

Good luck with your medical tests... may they give you good answers!

Afraid not OneKidsMom.

Actually having a fasting day for medical tests on Monday, so I won't be leaving the house that day.

Are you competing? If so, have a wonderful time and best of luck. If not competing, still, have a wonderful time!

If you're in Nebraska, and on the Spark Triathlon Team, the next obvious question is: will I see you on Sunday at the Cornhusker State Games Triathlon, Catherine?
