Well I totally failed the health goals. I exceeded the estate settling goals and I met my quilting goal. Once the house is sold, I will have a big stress causing chunk of the estate settling done. That will spell relief!

You are right about it being cathartic. We had to keep records for 7 years when we sold our business. At the end of the 7 years we had a big bon fire and toasted marshmallows.

No nausea yesterday but I have managed to put on 16.9 pounds in since June last year. This is not good. I worked so hard to get it off but just don't feel like dieting right now or eating lettuce. At the end of this radiation and when I am fully retired, I will get into it again. By March 1 I hope. Carol

I asked the technician if nausea was a side effect and she said no. She said fatigue and burning. I've had some fatigue but no burning. So eating carbs is just giong to make me fat. O, well. I did have some nausea right after radiation on Friday and yesterday during the day. Maybe I'm a fluke. We shall see. Carol

The occasional wave of nausea is hitting me and when I have nausea, I want to eat something. That is a bad thing. And carbs seem to be what I want to eat. Oh, well. Just not going to worry about it until after this radiation business is done. 6 down, 13 to go. Carol

Pam--so sorry for your loss. It is nice that you can stay and support your friend.

Chips and salsa--mmm..mmm...good! You could cut it a bit and have salsa with veggies or on top of cottage cheese. I love chips and salsa too...especially freshly made salsa.

There is still another week to work on January goals. I probably won't make all of them, but I am thrilled with what has been accomplished so far.

And here I thought Orange Theory was a quilt. Pam, so sorry. 44 is so young. I went to Walmart to shop for produce yesterday and I really think it is cheaper than both Publix and Winn-Dixie. And the produce was fresh and beautiful. I bought a premade tossed salad for $3.97. It was large and very good and I ate it in my car while wasting time in Niceville. So at least now I have food to eat. Carol

Pam - I'll be around all next week if you want to grab lunch. Orange Theory is an instructor led, heart rate monitored class that uses the treadmill, rower, and floor exercises to take you through an hour workout. The workouts change daily but always include elements from each of the three areas. You can do it at all fitness levels, they have alternate exercises for the floor if needed, which I definitely use sometimes. And there are walker, jogger, and runner levels on the treadmill workout. I realize with your PPS that you won't be joining but I wanted to give a full explanation of what it was.

Additionally, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's good that you'll be around to support your friend.

Meg I am in your neck of the woods helping my SIL after knee surgery. Darn cold for this Florida girl! How was your class? What is Orange Theory?

My goals have been sidelined for now. I am eating what ever is here and some of it isn't good. It is okay February is coming.

I had to extend my stay in PA do to the death of my friends husband at age 44. Just glad I am close enough to go to the service.

I will, as Carol says, Reboot in February.

Linda - You managed to beat my nemesis. Chips and salsa is killer for me. I could eat those with every meal. Shoot. I could eat them FOR every meal. LOL.

The long weekend didn't do me any favors. On the weekends I try to stay off the computer just because I'm in front of it all day every day for work. And it's so easy to not log food when it's not right in front of you. And then it was 9! on Saturday and really really cold Sunday and Monday and all I wanted to do was sit in front of the fire and munch. But, I went to Orange Theory both Saturday and Monday, so hopefully that helped.

Last week was a struggle with cravings and I ended up eating too much chocolate chip banana bread with additional melted chocolate chips on top. I know it was not a wise choice. I have refocused and am back on track and hoping for a better week.

I am down 0.6 pound. Yesterday it would have been 2.6. I had extra salt at dinner last night so I do know I am down more than 0.6. I am making progress on the rest of my goals although it doesn't always feel like it!

BLE is publishing a cookbook in October. On the Vlog this morning Susan talked about our bodies wanting to keep us at our highest weight and I agree. My body fights to be fat. I know that BLE works but it is tough to stick to it, especially since we eat out so much. Carol

I'm not perfect with my diet either, but I am aware of it. I'm probably in a maintain pattern. Evenings are tough. It seems I want to snack. I know it will get better as we get closer to spring and I chop away at the estate stuff.

Pretty sure I put the 2 pounds back on. I've been weight lifting, which always puts, at least, water weight on from the muscles retaining after being stressed. Plus, I don't suppose that ice cream cone tonight did much good. emoticon

I am down 3 lbs. I was down 4 lbs last Friday, but the weekend hit and I had pizza, fried chicken and donuts -- NOT GOOD. I went up 2 lbs from that (Monday) and then today I was back down a pound. Going to stay focused this week and work on having a better weekend.

Congratulations to all those who lost weight this week. Your hard work is paying off.

As for me, I maintained after another stressful week. I think I am retaining a little fluid. I bet I'll see a loss next week. I'm very happy with me step goals.

The downsizing efforts are going well and I'm way ahead of where I thought I would be. I think I'm on target with getting the secret santa blocks into a top this month. Little things add up.

January - 5 pounds (2 pounds gone so far) and finish the quilt I started for my daughter.

2019 - 30 pounds and all 4 girls have their quilts. Or at least 3. I'll have one done for her February birthday, but I have 2 more in February and one in January. So by next February, everyone will have a quilt.

Josey is a racer. I think she must have some greyhound in her as she can run around the yard. Yesterday, I was standing on the edge of the deck and the next thing I know, she was racing for me. She could have knocked me off but she did miss me. Will have to find time to walk her today. CArol

Since I'm starting the 5% challenge tomorrow, I need to get my act together. We have chocolate candies in the house and I find myself eating too many of them. I like to have them for my sweet tooth but I need to limit consumption, like one after a meal. And suck on it. And savor, and drink a cup of hot tea with it. Carol

I like your goals Bev. Can I ditto them? I am in the Determined Daisies team for the 5% challenge. I am really looking forward to this new team. It is similar to BLE bootcamp in that it is 8 weeks with lots of encouragement. And similar to Sonoma Diet where someone honchoed a walk to Sonoma and we had to log out miles daily. I need that motivation.
1. Lose 20 lbs
2. Keep BLE close at hand
3. Finish one UFO a month.
.4. Get active

I think everyone knows by now I don't make big New Year Resolutions. I prefer to do smaller monthly changes. They are less imposing and should be easier to keep. Also, if planned and executed properly the smaller monthly resolutions will lead to the completion of larger goals.

My goals for 2019 are:
1) lose 20 pounds
2) get and keep my A1C below 6
3) improve my physical strength and balance
4) complete 12 UFO's

I plan to reach them with small monthly resolutions. My January resolutions are:
1) exercise 30 minutes daily and lose 1 pound per week
2) stick to my low carb diet and stay in recommended nutrition guidelines
3) do strength training 1 day per week, and core exercises 1 day per week
4) complete 1 UFO every month.
