This is a pretty good, basic onion soup recipe. I don't do the cheese toast on top, though, because of the fat, although sometimes I ladle the soup over stale bread for extra texture, or have a frilled cheese sandwich with it.

it's easy to agree with most of that. i can't agree with the eat dairy every day. i'm a vegan for a few years now, and let me tell you if i eat something that has a little cheese (even imported cheese) i feel sick. the human body can not digest dairy. we had to slowly get a bacteria from milk as a child so we can learn to digest it. and when you stop eating dairy, your ability to digest it goes away. it is not natural for humans to eat baby cow food. the other thing about ditch anything low fat, i think should be ditch anything unnaturally low fat
