I can't tomorrow even though I would love to still hike also, I have a scout function in the morning.

It comes down to a simple question: what do you want out of life, and what are you willing to do to get it?

So who is close to walking all eight trais. Last weekend we got two in but our shoes were covered in mud. My 4 year old grandaughter is doing the spree for the first time.

I did go but it was such a nice day I didn't mind. I live close enough to the park I walked there. Just let me know whats up this coming weekend if anyone is doing any trails. If I'm home from Wooster in time Saturday I'll show up for the trick or treat trot. Otherwise just let me know whats up whenever.

The reason Seiberling is a 2 is b/c of the semi-killer hill toward the end. This is not the one that goes by the lake and over the ravine.

I usually can do any day but I may have to bow out this weekend b/c I had volunteered to help my son and his family move..don't know for sure yet.

If it is raining it may be best to do Goodyear Alder trail. it won't be slippery if wet.

Seiberling? Are you talking about the Nature Realm? Just checking! I'd vote for that one. They have beautiful, well maintained trails there. I can't imagine why it's a 2 but perhaps the trail is a little rough in places.

The hiking spree is going on now until the end of November and it's never too late to start. You can check the metroparks website for the list of trails and a form. We'll be glad to have the company.

I am having a hard time meeting with everyone on Sunday afternoon. This is the same time the boy scouts are walking the Medina County trails. I hope to be able to meet up with you all again. I do have my Summit County trails done, but the boys don't. I may be walking them on Saturdays. If I know in advance I will post where I am walking if anyone wants to meet up with us.

He's 11.

It comes down to a simple question: what do you want out of life, and what are you willing to do to get it?

Stop digging your grave with your own knife and fork.

It looks like the rain might be finished so I'll plan on seeing everyone there! I'll bring a sign or something to help us find each other. If nothing else, look for a dark haired woman who looks like she's waiting for people!

My son and I will be there. We'll be wearing Boy Scout troop 282 shirts. See you!

OK, sorry for the delay but I started a new job a few weeks ago and it's been keeping me busy.

Since we have a few people from the southern part of the Akron area, I thought perhaps we could try the new trail, the Springfield Bog. It's an easy trail and about 1.6 miles so should be a good introduction to the hikes and give us a chance to get to know each other.

Check here for more information:

Would 2:00 PM on Sunday afternoon work for people?

Either Day is good for me as far as I know. (car broke down yesterday (9/1) --if you were stuck on broadway near market around 4 pm that was me emoticon

My son and I have hiked the fall spree several times and some of the trails are decieving. I think you have to be part billy goat (ex. sand run)

This is the third year my son and I have done the hiking spree. We attended the kick off on Cascade Valley's Chuckery trail. The hill was brutal. We usually hike on Sundays because I can't stand watching football on tv. We would love some company too.

Wow, I'm glad to see people are interested. Does everyone prefer Sunday afternoons?

I'll look at the different trails and pick some. Since people are all over the area, I'll try to pick some in different parts of the county.

I don't object to bringing your dog. I usually take mine on these hikes but had figured I'd leave them at home. My dogs are kind of old and mellow so taking them anywhere is pretty easy.

I may be away for this coming Sunday due to the Labor Day long weekend. I'll let you know and obviously people don't need me to hike!

I actually live in Stark County but would love to meet some fellow Sparkers. Sunday afternoons would work better for me but just let me know when and where you plan to meet and I will join you as my schedule permits.
I will need directions from I-77 since I am not familiar with the Summit County metro parks system.

The Summit County Metroparks is starting its annual Fall Hiking Spree on September 1. The hiking spree runs from Sept. 1 through Nov. 30.

I usually do this every year--sometimes with my son and sometimes with whomever is available.

Would anyone be interested in getting together on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and hiking a trail together? It might be fun to put some faces to names.
