We all have those days at some point! Glad you found the keyring. I figured u had left it at next to the computer at Curves.

Hoping to get a chance to workout and visit a Curves in Alabama today. I enjoy checking out other locations while I am traveling.

Hey everyone, just checking in to let you know I have been doing really good, I lost 2.4 lbs last week.I have been keeping a food tracker book with me since I am not always able to log on to the computer, joined curves and had been working out 3 x week, that is until last week when I went and had a MRI done for the scoliosis (was just a routine check up thing) and found out I have two bulging disc at L4 and L5. Thus the real reason for the numbness in the left leg and pain when I stand for more then 15 minutes or tried going for walks. Any ways I am now getting set up for PT and Injections, but still very positive about losing the weight, you might say I have more incentive then ever now, (I do not like the thought of surgery). Hang in there, be positive and LOOK for your Muse for inspiration.

The pain of being overweight is soothed by the effort of exercise and eating healthy.

" I am not always slow moving, but when I am, it is because I am practicing Tai Chi."

So many days a week would be good or inches lost. We don't have the smart machines so the amt. of calories burned wouldn't be like those with that program. Maybe a streak of some kind for a month at a time?

Excellent ideas Gretchen. Thanks for sharing. I enjoy ones where you go to other members pages and post a comment.

Agree that 10,000 steps is alot depending on what you do during the day. Plus I always loose count and my pedometer isn't working properly.

Anyone else have more suggestions?

Maybe you could add a challenge that we post a message every day or huddle every day. I am only going to Curves twice a week right now because I do water aerobics on Mon, Wed & Fri and that will be year round. I was going to Curves 6 days a week before but my Curves is only open till 10:00 on Saturday. Even though I am retired I like to keep my weekends open for yard work and house work. The 10,000 steps is lots of walking and I have not signed up for that one because I am usually in the 9,000 range. I may just try it for awhile because I know walking is a good thing.

So, let me throw this out...

Would team members like to see a challenge associated with Curves? Like days attended, calories burned (this one might be hard to be fair), inches or pounds lost? The challenges we have currently are Curve 3x a week for 30 minutes and 10,000 steps per day. Not many have signed up for these goals.

Just wanted to get some opinions and see what the team thinks. I'm open to any other ideas that anyone suggests...

5 mile walk today, then curves, i too am having the problem w/food...................my goal is to drink more water and cut out the pepsi, which i drink WAY too much of. i can't wait till the 1st, to get weighed and measured again, lol, that really pushes me to get my butt moving :)

Jetta....Baby steps!! Work to cut out one or 2 things.

emoticon emoticon I cut out soda and fried foods. That was the biggest thing towards my food (calorie) intake.

emoticon I still crave McDonald's fries but usually do pretty good unless my son wants a Angus Burger from there. Then I sneak a couple fries!

Ok continue to rub it in that you can go to Curves today! emoticon Oh well, we like our holiday anyway even if we can't get to Curves today. Although it meant more to me when I was working and truly had the day off. Have a great day everyone. Let's see, I've done laundry and need to run to the store. Hubby will need me to help him while he changes the fuel line in the '64Corvair. I have to hold the end so the fuel doesn't leak out. He asked me not to smoke there! emoticon emoticon He's kidding of course cause I don't smoke.

Curves Smart is the program that lets you put a special tag into the machines when you're working them. It tracks calories burned, amount of effort used, etc. I'm getting set up with mine tomorrow.

Using the curves calorie burner that we can do without the tag is pretty much an average. The Curves Smart shows your real number.

I read an article recently that drinking water helps hydrate the skin, in turn helping with the wrinkles and the skin shrinking. I will continue to look for that article and post the link for you to read.
