How's everyone doing?

Yesterday was the spring show for one of the places where I teach dance. I feel like I've been running a marathon every day for the past few weeks. So I took today to just relax and recover.

Hi all:) Just jumping in after being gone for a couple years...and that was when I was in Lincoln. A lot changed, weight took a back seat....and stress. We won't talk about what happens when I'm under too much stress. Lets just say I had to reset my goals when I changed my location and leave it at that!

Hi, I'm planning to get some yard work done. A branch broke off my big tree in my back yard and I need to start getting it cut up so I can take it to be recycled. That's probably going to be my great weekend do.

Hello I am going to try to check in more often I have reached my goal and lost 150 # Now I face the challenge of maintaining my weight I find the threat of falling back to my old life pattern a real fear

Sorry I have been absent for awhile but work has been a booger. It's good to see that we're getting a little bit of activity on the site, CLCCOOL has been doing an awesome job of staying on top of things and we should support her by regularly posting something even if it just to say hi. ROCKYMTNMAN, congrats on winning the Pheasants Forever weight loss challenge and a loss of 81.5 pounds is incredible, I bet you and everyone around you are very proud of you as they should be. I know I've lost forty pounds so far and I'm beaming from ear to ear.All this hard work is paying off and the stride in my step is back.

Well I won the Pheasants Forever weight loss challenge 81.5 pounds so now I need a new challenge My new goal is to walk a 10K walk in 100 minutes or less by 5/31/2013
Making the goal public is part of the plan to keep me motivated to reach my weight goal of 250 # 20 # to go

I do not post here very often but I want to say thanks to all my Spark Friends Tomorrow morning I do my weigh in for the Pheasants Forever Chapter 247 weight loss challenge My starting weight for the contest on 10-15-13 was 356 and this AM I was at 274 So I expect that when they announce the results at our Banquet on Saturday night at the Crown Plaza that a lot of my friends will be writing bigger checks than they planned on

Hi Guys, hope everyone finished with a great weekend. Snow is one of the things I miss and don't miss if you know what I mean. Shoveling it wasn't one of my favorite things, good exercise though. I did get in more than a 120 minuets of exercise both Saturday and Sunday, I'm feeling good but the knee is complaining. I had the opportunity to go to a Greek Festival that the DW and I like to go to every year, but not this year, it not on the diet. Oh well, maybe next year during maintenance. Hi Guys, yea! I was able to do my walking today and it felt good.Went for about two miles, knee was sore at the end but wife sent me to the store afterwards and that seemed to work out the stiffness. Will take it easy for the next week or so but if it keeps up at this pace it won't take to long until I get back to where I was. Hope every one is having a great weekend. Pool is a great idea and yes I do have one; temp got up to about 76 a couple weeks ago then we had a few cold fronts go through and down went the temp. If the weather warms up like they're saying then maybe be able to go in in about a week. I can tell you the knee has improved about a hundred percent so I'm hoping to be able to get out walking by the weekend.

Well, got some snow here! Last night @ 6 we were making fun of the forecasters, cuz it didn't look like we were going to get anything, then POW! Planning on getting out this afternoon, so I hope it melts, quick!
I did a webinar yesterday about speed training/running & was suprised that he didn't talk more about how to prevent injury! I think that is the most important thing in the fitness industry, so that people don't have to get hurt to learn! Sorry that you are going thru this! If you have access to a pool, that is where I would start with your rehab

Yea, I did that before I even started running and had a formatted running plan. Problem is I don't listen very well and pushed harder than what the plan said, you know Chris knows best. I just glad I just irritated the tendon and no real damage. so, when the tendon heals I'll not know best and stick to the plan and if the body doesn't like that I'll look in o alternative means to get my cardio; zumba, exercise bike, bike or elliptical machine. The one thing I won't do is go backwards. Thank for the advise emoticon

Sorry, Hi everyone, been busy this week with work but my knee seems to be getting better. This was the first day I didn't need to take any drugs except for the anti-inflammatory drug. Limped around all day but much better. Going to try to start doing some of the walking I was doing before but no power walking or defiantly no running for at least two weeks. Will work on other core exercise for the time being. Last of the week is here so everyone have a great one. joi gin

Hope you all have a great day. We are supposed to have snow tonight, but there are so many different reports, who knows!
Chris: I've had knee issues in the past & both of my parents have back problems, so I have spent a lot of time finding ways to workout that help, not hurt or cause injury. I have known people who run late into life & never have knee problems. I think I would go to a store that specializes in running equiptment & shoes, some have a machine that you get on & they test how you are running & fit you with the correct shoes to protect you from injury, if you really want to run.

Hi everyone, went and saw the Doc today and got great news. My damage to the knee was'nt serious, as a mater of fact the damage wasn't the knee at all but the patellar tendon. I had severely over strained the tendon where it attaches to the knee. Prognosis is that I should be back to form in approximately two weeks. Though he says I might consider another form of cardio than running. I'll think about it but was really enjoying running again, it felt really good. I,ll just have to work hard on the upper body for the next couple of weeks to get my exercise time in.

Was suppose to been training for 5K this week but trained to hard last week and it put me down all week. I can tell you I won't overdue it again. Be careful if you start running, get the prpper instruction, listen to it, get the proper gear and have fun. Stick to the plan as the wife said. Be careful with your back!! Strenthen those tummy muscles, while you are young, but not on the floor! Actually, the best workouts for back issues are water aerobics or belly dancing! But, awsome that you are seeing results with your diet! It's wonderful that you have a supportive husband, that is SO cool! I did a 10 minute kettlebell workout yesterday for the 1st time in MONTHS...all I have to say is WOW! I know each & ever muscle I worked...because I FEEL it! Today, just did my aerobics, but REALLY thinking I will alternate the kettlebell with aerobics! For 10 minutes of kettlebell I burned as many calories as I did today with my aerobics!
I am glad that I finally found a good Pastor & church! I used to feel like going to church was a duty, but now I actually enjoy it! Though, last week I tried to talk myself out of going, I'm SO glad that I didn't!

I love to dip strawberries in greek yogurt, that I have added cinnamon to! Especially, because I'm a dipper! Most of my meals include dipping something, lol. I could just sit & eat strawberries! I must say, had the BEST church service this morning about faith!! We are making strawberry pie this weekend with the fresh strawberries; when the wife put the ingredients in the calorie tracker it turned out to be only 206 per slice. So one of the things I look forward to every year I will still get to enjoy. And Let me tell you that these strawberries are some of the best in the world and when I buy them they have been picked fresh that morning. Sorry to gloat but I do really enjoy them.

Today was a good day; only had to be in Miami for the morning then finished the work day from the house. Got to eat some of the strawberries that I got in Plant City yesterday (I look forward to that every year) and the wife got home today from being in Tampa all week. Today was a rest day for exercising (knees and leg muscles are killing me), so all in all it was a good day. Glad it's friday everyone have a really great weekend. Boa Noite

WHOOAA! Take it easy! You don't want to end up in the hospital, lol. I worked for a runner & he gave me advice that I have confirmed during studing for my ACE fitness cert, run hard one day, then the next run easy the next day, that helps with endurance & improves your time & distance. Plus, people who over exert or push themselves either really do get injured or give up quicker. Sorry, don't mean to give free advice, I'm just all about people not hurting themselves in an attempt to get healthy....

Hope we pick up more participation here soon. I think it's sad that our old familiars haven't been posting. Maybe if they did then others that see our team would be excited to join us.

Hey Guys, things have been real busy and exercise has been weak at best for last week, but I did get the go ahead from the Doc that I can begin running. So today I incorporated eight one minuet jogs in my one hour cardio walk. It felt really good to be able to run again and could feel that it really was good on the old body. The wife and I signed up for a 5K run in April so were doing the 5K Your Way for Rookies Challenge. Believe it or not I'm looking forward to it. Everyone have a great week. Aloha

yea, I was thinking about that yesterday! But, I still wouldn't trade you. I love my home & seeing Pikes Peak everyday, is a bit of Heaven on earth to me!

Not to make you feel bad because there are a lot of things why I miss Colorado but having this 70 to 80 degree weather all winter long is awsome.

WooHoo! another day, another work out, I actually kicked it up 10 min. Finally, got out of the house, this snow & cold weather has made me want to hide in my room! I'm not used to so many days without sunshine! but, it finally came out this afternoon & is supposed to get to 50 tomorrow, phew!

Hey, everyone, I'm on a roll, 2 days of sticking to my workout!
Make sure you tie your small animals & children down today, the WIND is back!! I had a small dusting of snow this morning, but it is melted & there is blue sky...but I do have visions of Toto & the Wicked witch of the west blowing by my window! emoticon
