Not sure about today yet, may take a rest day. Did a good run last night, weight is up just a tad but within 5 lbs of goal weight, so all is good! Getting ready to go to Morro Bay for Memorial Day weekend.

Congrats on seeing the scale going the right direction, have a good workout and a great day.

Haven't checked in for a while. Today I had a good time walking. Walked 3.5 miles from home to Bagels and Blenders where I enjoyed a breakfast bagel and a cup of coffee. Then I walked 4 miles to Beach Park and did 30 minutes of yoga. After yoga I walked to Sub Station on California Ave and had a great ham sub. Then 3.1 miles to home. No sitting around the house doing nothing for me!

Hi Yasmin... I did this race last year. It was actually my very first 5K race ever. I looked up the date for this year's race, but I didnt feel ready for it =( I hope they had a good race and a good event!

I hear ya. There's nothing worse than a day where bad piles on top of worse. I've had a couple weeks like that. Today I was finally able to respark my motivation & went on a 4 mile bike ride around the neighborhoods. It felt so good! My poor boyfriend was not the happiest camper at that point...then we went for a very short walk down the street. 1st walk since our beagle was hospitalized end of last week! Yeah! I hope the good keeps on coming for everybody!

Hi sorry I check the email every day but I do not get a chance to reply all the Time. I have not been watching my food intake (stress from kid, husband and planning a trip). Do You every have a few days where bam one thing after another some little thing goes wrong and you feel like you been hit in the head by dinner time. Then I will over eat (use to be cake or ice cream or pie), now I am trying to just eat raw nuts and just about a 1/4 a cup or ten nuts. now it is saturday and raining and when it rains the pressure change causes headache/sinus problems. Less stressed now, but I feel beat up by the headache/sinus issues. Hope every one is getting their physical activity. Also did not looses and weight this week. Ok see you next time may be I will not whine so much.

I wasnt able to hit the bike path, but I was running crazy errands all over town... does that count? LOL!!

I am looking forward to beautiful spring days when I'll be trying out different walk paths that I've been wanting to try like the bluffs. It just looks like such a nice walk.

Hey lets all take a long walk today. Lets try to do a mile walk, run fast slow. we need to push yourself. Today is Wed. Hope to see ever one on the bike path in bakersfield. Walking in the rain, love that thought. It would be good to hear from the fellow spakers. Heading out for that walk in a few.

So, I cheated today, and not like I eat bad, I weigh myself when I shouldnt have lol I couldnt wait till Tuesday, now I cant wait for my actual weigh in Tuesday to see over all how well I did this week :) WOO HOO!!!

Yes stretching is a must for me to keep my muscles flexible (don't recoup as easily as I used to). It's also very important to me to prevent injuries. If I have to cut back exercise due to an injury, it's too easy to get out of the habit. Got in a 2 mile walk this weekend along with two shooting sessions of 30-40 minutes each ... at the coast .... where the temps are very pleasant to exercise in ... and yes, I'm bragging.

Keep up the good work Ed. You're doing great. We can do this one day at a time!

Just had a really good movie night with a friend tonight. Watched a feel good movie and laughed all the way thru it. Weighted myself an saw that I lost another couple of lbs. Yay to me.

Good job on your 4 miles Pat. Did the stretching do you any good? Keep it up and keep striving for the best. I am here with you. So lets keep pressing on.

Got 4 in tonight before I ran out of energy then stretched and called it a day. Getting ready to leave in my car, I sat at the park on the phone watching soooo many people who were walking, running, skateboarding around the park long after dark. That's motivation, I tell ya! Singles, pairs & groups were trucking along. Something to consider as the sun sets earlier. Didn't get to Tai Chi last night due to an work emergency. Bummer. Next week. Tomorrow shooting hoops. Gotta get more practice in for the sometime in the future shooting match. emoticon

Congrats Ed on your continued weight loss and feeling healthier. emoticon emoticon Glad you're back and feeling great. Rewarding yourself with some new clothes is a GOOD thing! You deserve it. Go Ed!

Hey BK, I've been out of commission for the past couple of days, but I am back and feeling great. When I get off work today I will be hitting the gym with full force. I can see a big change in my health and I can see a big change in my clothes: they don't fit anymore. That's a great thing. The only bad thing is I have to go out and spend money on clothes that fit.
I am a penny pincher so it's going to be hard to part ways with this cash. Don't get me wrong, I spend on what I need, but I don't like to spend money on unnecessary stuff. Call me old fashion but that's how I keep a nice account.

Anyways, I got off the subject of working out so I will leave yall with this: Keep up the Good Work and I hope you are all going as strong as Pat and I are.

Keep on doing shooting them baskets. That's how I got good. When you are ready, we can have a match. But I must warn you, I'm pretty good shooting. I hope you keep doing it and getting better. Strength will help, but too much strength will have you shooting too hard. So be moderate in your strength training. Hope all is well.

Hello, hello, is anyone there?

Shot hoops tonight and did my weights. Shooting hoops is so much fun and, like anything that we do over and over and over, I'm getting better, making more baskets and from farther away. Decided though that some strength training is needed to help the shots be more accurate. Sounds good anyway so I'm going for it.

Hope your all doing what you need to do to accomplish your goals.

Another day done. Did 5.4 miles in 70-75 minutes, but not sure I'm trusting the time. Having a heart monitors that strap on to get more accurate data would be cool. I really like besting myself. Gonna have to start jogging I think. Don't have this much time to spend if I want to keep challenging myself. Tomorrow some baskets - long overdue. Tuesday am going to check out a local, weekly Tai Chi class.

Boy, am chatty. Get my heart rate up and it's like giving me caffeine. OK so enuff of me. How are you doing Ed? What's happening in Bakersfield?

Thats why I am always on here: To find my motivation. And I find it in you Pat. I see you always posting about how you get out and do your workout and have fun shooting basketball and I get amped up to do what I got to do to get this weight off my body. Well, it was probably a bit disappointing for you and your team, but I like your positive statement of "in the Fall we will go undefeated." Very cool, Ed. Never give up, never give up, never give up. (this is one of my favorite quotes)

So here is a positive about this daily checking in for me: even though I committed yesterday to doubling my power walking and doing 4 miles this morning, I started to whine to self the closer it got to my walk-out-the-door time. "Oh, don't go now - go after work." "Oh, just do it tomorrow when you have more time." Then I flashed on all your encouragement and support and knew I had to go and git er done. And I did. And it felt great! So, two thumbs up to you. Thanks. Hope your workout was great.

Verdict is we came in 2nd place with a 8-1-2 record. 1st place finished with a 9-1-1 record. We had to wait because the other team played the 9 oclock game and we played the 6 oclock game. Since I have to be at work at 550am we did not stay to watch the last game.

Its all good though. In the Fall season we will go undefeated.

I guess I will be on my way to the gym in about an hour when I get off work. I'll keep yall posted on how my work out goes. Til then, have a Sparkful day.

Was able to double up on my walking yesterday. Felt great to be more challenged! Today did a short walk of 2 miles and it was okay. Doing daily is my goal - even if it's not exactly what challenges me. Will do a double cardio tomorrow and then, after work to reduce stress, will throw in some basketball. Fun!

Tie games are so much fun. So Ed what's the verdict? And why did you have to wait until today to find out? Whether your team is the No 1 Champs or the No 2 Champs, you're still Champs! Go Ed!

Softball game tied tonight 12-12. Won't know until tomorrow if we are the champs. Oh well

Got in a good workout at the gym today. Didn't do too much because I had the softball game, but still all in all, it was a really good workout.

Pat, you will get back into the swing of things, just keep at it. I can be your motivation, just look at me pushing myself everyday. I know you can get it done and reach those goals.

Wow, Ed, you were on a workout marathon yesterday. Working out with weights is very satisfying. I like it because it feels good and it effectively releases stress and tension.

Yesterday did get my cardio in. It wasn't challenging like it used to be and so tomorrow will be doubling up on my distance. Looking forward to it.

Today I hit the gym really hard. Over 3 and 1/2 hours. ( Cardio and Strength training ) I am already feeling it. But that's what it's all about. No pain No gain. I know I will really be feeling it in the next day or two.

Spent the afternoon at the beach today. Got my brisk walking in and it was so cool, literally and figuratively. I love the ocean - it's a great place to get grounded and to be introspective.

Aaarrrggghhhh! I've been suffering from either exhaustion or post-grands-have-left depression and have been quite the slacker! Tonight I'm finally starting to feel my positivity and energy coming back. And it's about time, I tell ya!

I've been back on track with my food as of yesterday and now I know I'll be back on track with my fitness. However, talk is cheap and action speaks louder than words. Tomorrow's posting will reflect the action and not just the talk.

Grands flew back home yesterday afternoon. Now will have time to get back in the groove - but not too much of a groove as there are new things to incorporate into my exercise routine such as dancing and rock wall climbing. This will help me cross train, along with basketball. Keep on, keeping on people.

Won another softball game last night 9-8. Too close for comfort, but I'll take. One more game left in this season, if we win, we play for the championship. Wish us luck.

Worked out with my trainer today. It was something else. He made me use muscles I didn't even know I had. I enjoyed it. So I think I will schedule with him 10 days a month. I am still feeling the burn from it.

Well I see you had some fun. I never tried that dance game before. I might have to get to an arcade and give it a try.

I don't know if there are any get together s. It seems that no one is interested in working out with other people. So I am just going to keep on keeping on. It would be nice to find new friends to share some of their workout tips and show you how to do it, but oh well.

Hey Ed,

Sounds like your really enjoying yourself at the gym. Go Ed!

Since my grand grands have been here, I've been off of tracking and all my planned exercise that I normally do. We hiked in the Sequoias, went to Pismo Beach, rock climbed the 3-story wall at the sports center 3 times and, while the kids were playing in the arcade, I found a dancing game that I was learning to do. Totally felt like a klutz (the game kept booing me-made me lol) until the last 2 turns and is definitely a cardio workout. The rock climbing is a keeper. I'll be going back and competing against myself. What a fun challenge.

Do SP people get together and do work outs? yeah, where is everyone?

I still have 2 miles left to do tonight, but goal is to do 10 miles tonight. 9 are from wii fit and 1 is from walmart and bringing in stuff ;)

Just Put in another hour at the gym. 48 minutes on the cycle uphill constant. Then 12 minutes on the Stair climber level 5. My legs are burning as we speak. But I gotta do what I gotta do.


Yep Pat, that machine is challenging but like you said, I am too motivated to not try it. I actually like it.

Have fun with your grandsons. We will be here when you get back.

Great Job on the Wii fit Free. I know it was fun.

Wii Fit is my best friend.
45 minutes (3 miles) of Free Step.
Done!!!
Bam!!

I love the effectiveness of the workout.
Did it 2x last week and it went wonderfully ;)
