That is correct if your goal is between 130 lbs to 150. After many books they say your goal weight plus another zero can get you to your goal without feeling deprived.

Sparks calculated it according to you goal or ideal weight.

Want to see if I'm on target with what everyone else is doing. What did you set as your calorie range? I set 1200-1550.
