I also am amazed now that I am watching portion sizes that I actually am satisfied after eating the RIGHT portion size. I always thought that wouldnt be enough food but it acually is. I'm also making sure to have healthy snacks on hand like apples orcheese sticks so that I do not cave into eating all this food we have at work like chips, cake, cookies, chocolate!

I used to binge when I was upset and now I ask myself if I'm REALLY hungry or just eating for emotional reasons, I haven't binged in years, even when I quit smoking! I think eating mindfully and making wise food choices is key to losing the weight and KEEPING it off! emoticon

I don't think I have actually given up anything, except emotional eating when I wasn't actually hungry. Now, to be honest, I had already made a lot of changes like using a lot less salt than I used to, and avoiding foods with a lot of sugar. Those changes did things like help me keep my blood pressure and glucose readings in a normal range, but I was still gaining weight.

Now that I am thinking about eating instead of eating because of emotions, I find that it really doesn't take all that much food to fill me up.

What are some of the things that you thought you could never live without food wise?

For exampe: I went to Subway this morning. I had a flat bread ham and egg white with some veggies. I did not have cheese or mayo!! That's huge for me! It actually tasted just fine without them. I'm sure I cut out a lot of fat and calories this way!
