Still only getting up to about freezing here in my little corner of NE Montana. A few gusts of wind now and then but mostly just a light breeze.

Still not bad for January...

More like spring. Hoping lilacs etc don't start to bud. I didn't get and currants last year because they budded then froze.

I can do it with your help!

Just checked and the weather service has lowered our highs for the week. Was supposed to be 40F, but now mid'30's. Whatever, I guess we'll deal with it...

We started out at -8 and now, 9 p.m. it's -20. I fired up beasty and went to the PO and Holiday for coffee, out to Wally World for cottage cheese and to get the car really warmed up! Also got a 4 pack of Heat! Filled up with gas in the way back and put in a bottle of heat! A bit of wind, ground blizzard on HWY 2?

Have a couple blankets in the washer (with a sweat shirt and warm socks) just to keep water running? Dryer helps heat up that space in the basement. Sure hoping we don't get to -30.

I don't even want to think about it!!!

Currently -12 heading to -32 predicted. I sure hope the forecast is wrong and we end up warmer than that.

Thankfully, there is little wind, but what there is drops the fells like temps about 10F from the actual ones.

Tell me spring is just around the corner.... emoticon

We started out at -4 at 0600 and ripped to -8 by 1300. Same 1 inch of snow so was easy to sweep off the walks and vehicles! Wednesday is the predicted coldest but warmer than the original predictions!

Had a little fog this morning and freezing rain off and on! Then at 4 p.m. it started powdered sugar snow! No real measurable snow but at least it covered the dead grass! So it won't "officially" count as white Christmas , but good enough for me!

Looks like ours will be a mostly white Christmas. Still quite a bit of snow, but highway clear except in town.

Supposed to get up to around 40F today and then cooler the rest of the week, but still in 20's.

Was officially 59 degrees and highest gust was 58 mph! Only the dirty piles of snow that were plowed to edges of parking lots are left. Still ice in the shady spots! No white Christmas this year!

Not quite so warm here, but still above freezing. We must be at the eastern edge of the wind zone as our wind wasn't too bad.

Highway is plowed by the state boys so it's in good shape but the streets are rutted and the intersection slick. Too many idiots going too fast! After doing errands this afternoon it just reinforced my desire to shop after 8 p.m.

Temperature dropped from 43 to 23 in just a couple of hours. Snow came down at a pretty good pace! It's wet but not too heavy. The prediction is for 4 inches! We have 2 and it's really fine powdered sugar snow coming down now.

Rain started at 0900 Tuesday. Turned to rain/snow mix about noon! Started sticking to the grass about 1400! Temperatures held right at 30 degrees! Wet, heavy snow! I've kept up with it by shoveling the walks several times! Ran to the P.O., the grocery store, Walmart and to get my coffee at the c-store about 1700. State road guys had not plowed Hwy. 2 yet! Starting to get slick. I ran out again to shovel and give a ride home to a kid who works at the c-store at 2300! Wet feet, wet hair and snow still coming down!

We got 10 inches of snow from 4 p.m. Saturday to 4 p.m. Sunday. Still spitting a little. Shoveled 4 times and had a nice young guy come and help with some of the heavier shoveling and keeping the patio cover cleared off! Now the prediction is for minus 6 tomorrow morning. It's 37 degrees and light rain. Supposed to rain all night! Hope the hourly forecast is correct and it doesn't freeze and/or turn to snow! I got in a couple late afternoon hours of leaf raking. Filled the trusty old coffee cans with kitty litter and tiny gravel to keep in the vehicles! Need to get a few bags of gravel for weight in the back of my little truck. The Boy Scouts sell it as a fundraiser! Then I have it in an emergency. Not ready for winter but it doesn't seem to care what I want!

*Moving this up to the top forum so you don't have to search through for it! It's one of the things we talk about the most in Montana anyway isn't it?

It's up to 28 today in Havre, but the sun is not out. They are saying 'winter weather alert' and possibly another 1-3 inches of snow over night. I'll be surprised but since I wanted to get out and see the big supermoon tonight I suppose it won't be visible and will miss another eclipse. Oh well, they happen whether I watch them or not!

Except in this case, tonight, it's a lunar eclipse!

The best cure for stressing is to count your blessings...and a long walk won't hurt either!

Never give up what you want the MOST for what you want at the MOMENT!
