I am so deeply sorry for what you are going through. I'm sorry I didn't see your post sooner, I tend to use the app as I'm normally at work most of the day.

I can imagine what you are going through is rough. I know I am young, but if you aren't bothered by that, I'd love to help ya out!

Warm hugs

I have not been on spark the past couple of days so missed your post asking for help. First off - wow! I give you a lot of credit for just hanging on for dear life. You are dealing with so much right now. Praying for both you and your DH. Illnesses like that take not only a toll on the person but also on caregivers. Is there any way at all to get your DH to compromise in letting someone else take some of the burdens off your shoulders of being his only caregiver? You certainly can't take care of yourself if you don't have any time to be just you. I realize that as spouses we do what we have to do to take care of our loved ones...especially us women. I just feel so bad that so much is falling on you.

I will certainly do what I can to root for and encourage you all the way. I'm no expert or example of following this journey well though as my own care often comes in last but know that I am here to listen and give hugs!

Bless you!

It has been a hard six months since DH became ill and we still have a climb or two ahead of us. He became ill in March and endured testing and waiting, (rinse, repeat) until the end of May when the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer sent us to Kalispell for specialized surgery.
Then we were introduced to cancer care in Bozeman, a 150 mi round trip for us.
He has finished his first round of weekly chemo, now is nearly in the middle of daily, yes, 5 days a week for 5 weeks, chemo and radiation. Then back to weekly chemo through Feb.
I can tell you exactly when each tree along I-90 started its fall color transformation.

He is doing quite well according to the doctors.

I, on the other hand, have fallen completely off the Spark Wagon, gaining weight, craving sweets, not exercising, etc. to the max.

At first, the caregiving was 24/7 since DH is 78, nearly blind, diabetic from the cancer, and recovering from really drastic surgery, all resulting in a weight loss of 45# (for him!).

He is a bit more independent now, but adamantly refuses to have any help in, professional, friends or family. Consequently, I am perpetually exhausted, which might have something to do with my weight gain, eating habits, etc. (Duh, ya think?) emoticon

Think I'm nearly past the feelings-sorry-for-MYself-stage and working on being the help hubby needs, but I need someone to help drop-kick/mentor me back to the straight and narrow on SP. Anyone up for it, for awhile at least? I need some accountability and am reaching out to my Montana friends for help.
