I hope all is well with everyone. I am busy keeping appointments. I need to add a hair and nail appointment top the list. I do not know if I want to travel with the Coronavirus on the loss but we will see what the future holds.

David - sorry - had a senior moment. Some where on some site someone was talking about making an outfit for their granddaughter for a stage production. I had a picture in my head of your GD and how cute she would look in hot pink. I carried that picture over to this site and thus the post. I GD in performing in Pater Pan.

Shari - nice to see you are still around, I hope all is well with you

Today is my day of stay at home. I am going to vote today.

Debby I am so happy things are going well for you. It is so nice to have you back here. Your trip sounds fantastic

David -your GD will look adorable in her hot pink suit for the play. Mine is going to be in Peter Pan. They could get enough boys to try out so they are going to have the lost girls instead of the lost boys

I had my dentist appointment today. Everything was okay. but I had my teeth cleaned which always makes my mouth hurt. Tomorrow is water aerobics and a very small grocery shopping. pork loin for dinner tomorrow with oven roasted veg.

Hi. Late check in then off to bed. I was asked what the water goal is. At least 8 cups a day. I have a metal veterans logo timber my wife bought me last year. I can keep water and ice cold at least 2 days in it. I love it. I used to drink cup after cup but was told by er Dr that I may be drinking too much. With the fluid retention some says worse than others I was told to limit to 1 to 1.5 litters of water) liquid. I'm in meds . I tried for 4 straight days and felt like a dried out sponge. I've yo yod back and forth. In doing the 8 glass day . I just have to log it down. I keep forgetting. ...old age..hehe....showing. ...

I'm still here, just busy. I'm making a hot pink suit for a play my daughter's school is putting on (Hair Spray), lots going on with the shelter, preparing for kitten season... Got my taxes done, didn't get a lot back, but better than owing. We finally bought the new car we've been saving for (new 2020 Kia Soul). I love driving it! And flights, places to stay in Rome and Barcelona, and cruise between them are bought and paid for. We leave Oct 19 and will be traveling with my mom and two sisters, their husbands, and a couple of friends and nieces and nephews. It'll be the first time my whole remaining family is together in the same place since my brother died over eleven years ago.

Weight loss continues since surgery - I'm in the mid 190's. It's going slower than I expected at this point, but I joined a support group for patients of bariatric surgery that meets once a month here and am learning so much. It still takes time and it still takes effort. And it's easier to stay in a good calorie range for weight loss. It's really hard to get enough fluid down every day, though, but weight comes off faster if I do. Considering I weighed in the 260's just this past October, I feel great about my progress.

Gotta get back to paying bills and sewing. Take care everyone.

Happy Saturday

Went to breakfast with my son. He paid me back the money he owes me. that was nice. It makes up for the income tac return I am not getting. I am getting a little but not the 3 thousand I used to get. My daughter is talking about buy the house which mean I would have no deductions. I am going to have to make another appointment to change the amount of deduction that is being taken out of my check.

Yesterday it was in the seventies. Today it is in the 40s and the wind is blowing. I am wearing my fleece jacket in the house today.

My trees and pine and juniper so no leaves. I have to get someone to cut the mistletoe out of the juniper before it kills them.

David - what is your goal on your water challenge?

Everyone have a great weekend

Looks like you have a plan.
I created a "drinking water" challenge and omg... I have about 15 posts already from people who signed up. I thought it was a challenge just for me!
Cold a bit again last night for us again. 40s. Going to 60s today and 70s tomorrow. Need to get out and sweep up some leaves. Great to have big trees, but ... The leaves are getting tracked in the house by all of us.
Made egg, bacon( turkey), and chorizo taco for step and gd. Wife at work 1)2 day, gs spent night with his daddy...( No comment).
School nurse called and told me gd was in school office yesterday around 11am. Said she had sore throat. I got her mom to get me Dr appointment. Glad I took her. Strep throat. She's sitting here at kitchen table on her tablet watching utube. Everyone of my nieces and nephews seem to live on on utube.
Anyways....guess I better clean up my meds from cooking and check on those leaves.
Don't see anyone post much anymore. I hope everyone is doing okay. Miss seeing what everyone is up to.

Started a water drinking challenge. Logged in food for breakfast and started washing clothes.
Still feeling run down. Can still feel a little tightness in chest with discomfort but I'll be okay. Dr at ER said to rest couple of days, so I'll just take it easy.
Hope everyone here those I've seen post and those that haven't a wonderful day.

For better or worse, I logged in morning food and drink. Had a rough afternoon yesterday. Really haven't felt right for past 3-4 days. Finally got to point I really felt bad. Called wife from work to take me to hospital. Tests ran showed once again I probably had another heart attack. I'm home. Got everyone up for work and school. My wife played school bus this morning. I'm staying at home and doing very little today. After this post will probably lay down again for a bit.
Hope everyone is staying warm today. Yesterday was 82*. Cold front last night brought back down in the low 50*. Okay, feeling sleepy. Will check in later.

Good Sunday morning 🌞
Daily problems always occur but, baby dad walked out on step d and the kids again ( #8).
He now realized just how he had it made here. Shows up at step ds work, follows her and friends when they go out. Told her to get restraining order. He's been out of our house for about week or longer. What I leading to is, there is so less stress here now.
Wife and gd went to visit, stay overnight at her parents. Step daughter allowed baby dad to take my gs to spend night at his mom's house. Step d and friend out most of night so I got to watch good movie on Netflix last night. Everyone was somewhere. Very quiet night.
Sun is out today. It's supposed to get up to upper 70/80* today. Going to get outside at my spot under the tree with a book today.
I hope you all find your "spot" to get out to to enjoy today.

2 of my grandchildren live with me. The youngest 2. The older ones live about 10 miles away. I ended up babysitting today, my son's daughter and the two little ones, not so little now they are 6 and 8. Where is the years go?

I am still taking my food one day at a time. It is always hard on me when I am babysitting, I ended up making multiple meals.

Happy Friday, Happy weekend to everyone.
Irritated at my daughter, my GS threw up last night she asked me to babysit. I said "No" because I cannot clean up vomit. Now she is mad at me. I have the right to say no. So now I am mad at her. This is not a big deal but it is irritating

Justme,
Thank you for your posting. Didn't do absolutely anything yesterday. It was our 8th wedding anniversary. ( Been together for 13 yes total). My wife took day off to be home with me. Had coffee and home made menudo for breakfast. Step d was at work , kids were at daycare/school. We hung out watching movie on Netflix then when to Chinese buffet just down the street. Went back home right before kids due home. Nothing exciting but I really enjoyed just visiting with my wife. We never get that chance because there is always kids or somebody with us.

Today is back to the rock pile! Deep cleaning our bedroom and bathroom. Even took light fixtures apart to wash the glass covers to each bulb. Was waiting for me floor steamer to heat up to do floors . Looks like it ready so I better get back to work.
I have a full chicken boiling in a pot on the stove. Going to strip meat off and make crunchy tacos with lettuce, spinach, and cheese for dinner tonight.
Got to go.
Everyone have a great day.

David - do not give up. Keep trying and keep searching. I have started OA on line and am reading their literature. It is the first thing that has changed my thinking. I hope you can find what it is that works for you. Remember progress not perfection. Every meal, every time you choose to eat healthy is a win. 2 healthy meals and one bad one means you are doing twice as good as you were before you came here. You are worth it. Keep trying.

I also had a slip. It was my GD's birthday yesterday and I ate cake.

Good for you on being back on your eating right. On a good month I say, plan, do, then fall on my face only to start the patern over in a few days. We have been planning better meals for the most part. It's been easier when everyone is dog tired to stop and pick up fried ( poop), someplace. All these years even with all the heart attacks, surgeries etc. I still don't do what I know needs to be done. I let myself down time after time. I know my health is going down as that I really struggle to do even everyday things now with more pain than before . I really feel I won't be around 5 yrs from now .

Happy Monday

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I am giving my power lift to a friend who's daughter has CP. It did not work out well for my car and that is why I want a wheelchair accessible van for my next car.
I seem to be back on track with my eating. All of my family is doing well. At the moment life is good.

My trip to get my real ID was terrible. I had to walk forever to get in the building so I was in pain. I got in line which went pretty smoothly. when I got up to the counter the woman in a snarky voice said "Do you have your birth certificate? I pulled it out and said yes. Then She said "and you r marriage licence? Again I pulled it out and said yes. And your tax return " Again Yes then she asked for my 1099 which I had brought. She looked at it and said this will not do. I said on your website it said to bring my 1099 this is mine. She said It doesn't have your entire social security number only the last four digits so we will not accept it. I responded It didn't that on the website and this is the only 1099 that I get. She said you can bring in your social security card but you cannot get your real ID today. Then she smiled and said in the same snarky voice Have a nice day. I said that it was not a nice day and was not going to be a nice day but I hoped that she had one. AS I gathered my paperwork she said well then be blessed.
I went from the DMV to social security to get a new social security card. Three hours later I finished the paperwork.
I am hoping to go to Costco today

Omg emoticon ,
I recently grew a mustache, and for the heck of it I took a selfie in the car waiting to pick my wife up at work.
The reason why I say Omg is, I was going to add it to my pictures on my sparkpage. I saw just how bad I looked and could easily see my turkey neck from putting on weight....I've been snacking here and there plus drinking a regular soda almost every day. I've got to stop. Take control, finally take this seriously.
Just walking around the house and outside I can feel myself get out of breath quickly. I can feel the strain on my heart. I can't have another heart attack. I've survived 8. For some reason it hasn't been my time and I don't want to help it either.

Baby dad picked up and took both grand kids to spend night at his mom's. Step daughter going out with friends. I'm going to try to find a good movie on netflicks or the fire stick and watch a movie and eat tuna fish lettuce wraps. Been awhile for a quiet night with the Mrs.
Going to see what movie to pick. Enjoy your evening.
David.

Justme,
Weather I guess have been really messed up this year.
Several northern cities in Texas were in 30s, and even one at 12*. Here in corpus Christi, it went from 76 to 38* in same day. Supposed to be warming up in mid/ upper 70s for weekend.

David - sounds like things are getting better.

The weather here is very similar, Sunday it was in the 70s and Monday in the low 40S . I am so happy spring is around the corner.

Tomorrow I take in all the paperwork for the "real" ID, Thursday is a meeting, and Friday I am have my retinal scan.

Good morning.
Warming up a bit again. 62* going up to 72*. Supposed to be 80* on Tuesday but back down in 40s* and 30* on Wednesday and Thursday. Just about anyone I know has a cold now.
Picked up a couple of library books the other day. An hoping to fit in a little sit and read outside this afternoon. I haven't been out forever.
Still look around and see all the " stuff" I need to get done around the house as far as cleaning.
I'm also doing an online search for a good comfortable pair of " slip on " shoes that don't cost a car payment.
I have an extremely limited selection of clothes but really need a pair of shoes. If anyone has had any luck please pass info on to me.( Thanks).
Drove kids to daycare and school. Wife will take herself to work today. she gets half days one in a blue moon. Today it's 10am - 2pm.
We both agreed to eat more meat and veggies, cut out carbs. Will see how that goes... I still haven't been able to get a weight scale. Wife said she doesn't want one, but ild like to monitor what I am. I'm sure I put on at least 8-10 lbs.
Well, here we go again ......

Good morning.
Slept in till 7am. Woke up with the blahs. Made breakfast for the girls( wife, sd, gd) and grandson. Made ( sorry..not healthy), pancakes, sausage, fried eggs. I didn't eat but had my morning ( decaf), coffee. Just got dishes and kitchen cleaned up. Wife took gs to mall to pick out clothes for niece having bday in couple hrs my other two girls are in their rooms.
Will probably sweep and steam clean floor in my room after everyone leaves for party. I'm not a social person. Happy to be quietly at home. A small family get-together has at least 35+ people. In-laws have accepted me at this. Still see and have them over when in town to have coffee and hang out.
I'm holding back on alot of how i feel today. I'm trying to see if it's true that the more you talk about it the worse it gets.
Baby daddy is still staying over at his mom's in ajoining town. SD still trying to figure things out. Told her to not make any decision now. Give it a couple days. Concentrate on her and the kids now. Always afraid of giving out bad advice.....
Well, I'm going to go stretch out on the bed till they all leave for the party. I'll talk more later.
Enjoy your day.
David

My scale read under 200 lbs. this morning! 199.5! Only 59.5 to go. Though the journey through surgery and subsequent recovery hurdles has not been easy, it's been thoroughly worth it. I am now able to eat nearly anything I want, but the size of my stomach and (bad) reactions to sugar have made it so I can not eat all that I would have before and the sugar dumping is a big deterrent to wanting sweets. In my mind that's a successful surgery to me. I've also been able to start back to the gym this week, both cardio and weight training. Gotta tighten up some of this loose skin!

Linda - good luck with taxes. I still have to do mine.

Davide - I agree, you are a treasure. Sometimes we don't tell our spouses how much they mean to us. I'm glad your wife took some time to tell you what you are to her and your family. I hope the baby daddy stays away.

I have some kitten adoptions to do this afternoon, more planning for our big Europe trip this fall (we've got villas lined up to stay in and our flights taken care of, just have to book the cruise and excursions, transfers, etc.). Also we're starting a search for a new car this week. We really need a second car! Hopefully will hear from the bank about pre-qualification for a car loan today. Lots going on.

Happy Saturday

Davic - your wife is so right. You are a treasure. I hope baby daddy finds some other woman who wants to wait on him hand and foot so that your SD can move on to a better man. Hopefully she will see what a treasure her mother has and look for someone as giving and caring as you are.

I managed to get my living room back into order. I will pay my bills today and then the only thing hanging over my head is taxes, teeth cleaning and retinal exam. I am planning on Monday to set up appointments. I just got my 1099s. I am spending today paying bills and meal planning.

Everyone back to school and work today. Started in early on some more laundry. Striped the beds.
Plan on sweeping and steam cleaning front rooms today. Still not at 100 percent but feeling a bit better. Was able to sleep in bed for awhile last night over having to sleep upright in recliner.
It's 54* and cloudy..( love it!).
Going to drink some coffee and explore a bit here on SP then back to chores. My wife got me this morning when she said " your always complaining that you didn't accomplish much, limited college hrs etc. You can smile, look at yourself proudly in the mirror. And , if anyone asked what you do...hold your head up high and say...I AM...A.. Domestic.. Engineer...wow....so much love in this house....
Okay, coffee is brewed and has my name on it....
Have a great day!

Hi. Been staying busy today.
Heavy brush pickup is going around this week and picking up heavy bulk.
My in-laws who previously lived here left old water heater, stove, and other bulk items out in back yard. I was able to drag then out to the front. Took awhile but finally got that monkey off my back.
Did several loads of clothes. Back to trying to help my SD by washing / folding hers and the baby. Baby dad for the 5th time walked out on them. 3 he's later told her what a mistake he made etc. Her reply. Yes you did. I think we need to keep things the way they are now.
Omg....I only hope she keeps and holds that idea. He was raised the man is totally in charfe. What he decides will be how the family follows. A man doesn't ckean, house work etc. That's a woman's job. Well, maybe now he will see how he had it made when he was here.
Anyways, more clothes to do tomorrow. Need to start back on cleaning floors again.
Hope all is well where you live
Goodnight.

I am doing better. Life has been running away with me. Today I am staying home and cleaning the living room. Hope all is well with everyone.

I am a total flu shot person. Since I started getting flu shots every year I no longer get the flu and I usually do not get bronchitis either. There are a number of place you can get the shot for free around here.

Good morning all.
Hope this new day brings each of you the direction each of us had made when we first came to SP.
I'm on the down side of this flu. Looks as though no one was spared it in my family. Kids are back to school, SD back to work, but wife now home from work because of it.
Picked up a couple new tires yesterday at a brand name dealers store. Back again there this morning. I have a small neessen juke. It's small, quite, great on gas mileage. Anyways, replaced front two tires. They put back 2 on front( still looked almost new. Got on the freeway going home yesterday and the tires made more wining noise than an 18 wheeler with mud tires....
I'll wait to see what they say.
Anyways had some time so wanted to check in to see how everyone was doing.

This has been a pressing week for most of us here. Each of you are in prayer I say every morning. I ask that each of us is watched over and is helped to find their way.
I'm tired. Still having to set up in recliner to sleep in at night. My gd and gs seen to be in the mending side of this flu. My immune system has been shot since all the heart attacks took their till. When I get a cold or flu, I have it a minimum of 3-4 weeks. I'm in week? 2, 3,? Heck I don't know . I am going to end here as all my meds are kicking in and in getting sleepy.
Good night all.

I am still overwhelmed by what has happened, but I am improving. I am giving my son money so he can stay in San Diego with his cousin for a few days. He wants me to stay with him, but I just cannot afford two rooms. It is more important that he stay they are the same age only one moths difference and they grew up together. Mikey lived with us during his high school years. I just feel a lot of stress right now. There is the family situation and the funeral. I am really worried that I am going to owe a lot on taxes, I have my trip to plan for and my son has been very needy at the moment. My daughter is trying to make plans and I have to wait until I do my taxes to tell her anything. At least my health is better and while I am overwhelmed I am not depressed. I am sad, but that is very different from depressed.

David - I'm sorry you've been feeling bad. I hope you feel better soon. It's hard o find any motivation when you're not feeling well.

Linda - I'm so sorry for your loss. What a tragic thing to have happened.

Shari - I'm glad you got some relief from your pain. Those injections can hurt, but the long term gain is definitely worth it.

I'm starting to feel like myself again after two weeks of severe dizziness and two rounds of antibiotics for UTI's. We've been in Maryland for the past week playing with our grandsons and visiting with our daughter. It's been nice and wow! Hhave the boys grown in size and behavior. They're a blast to play with. I just wish it had been warmer so we could play outside more with them.

I'm finally eating real food again. I'm enjoying flavors. They're so vibrant when you haven't had them in a while. My stomach doesn't tolerate much more than about 3-4oz at a time, so portions are small and limited in how often I can eat. That's ok as that was the purpose of the surgery. We'll see what the scale says when I get home tomorrow. Then off to the races to get ready for cat show this weekend.

Take care everyone.

To lighten up the day I saw this little joke. ( Tried but could not copy and paste)

A weasel walks into a bar.
The bartender says " I've never served a weasel before", "What can I get you"?
"Pop", goes the weasel.

JUSTME - Sorry to hear about your family's recent loss. It is tragic.
DAVID - The flu is absolutely no fun... sorry it is taking its turn in your household.

As for me, I just wanted to report that I have been 2 days pain free now (following a horrible 2 days after getting the epidural steroid shot). What a difference in my disposition, attitude, and energy! Praying it lasts a really, really, really, long time!

Happy Friday

David - I do not think we ever fail as long as we keep trying. Failure is when you quit and do not get up. Everyone has ups and down, a slip a stumble, but you are a winner when you pick yourself up and get back to it.

I have been having a rough few days. Death has been on my mind. I have been going to bed way too late. I have been in pain because of the weather change. So . I am also a winner because I am still trying. I have not been perfect, but I have not been over the cliff.

Happy weekend to everyone. I hope life treats you well

Good morning everyone.
We are supposed to get a little cold front this weekend and from what I've read all of you northerners are really in for it if you haven't already been hit by it. Bundle up. Try to stay warm.
Have both grandkids home with me. Elaiya has school holiday and Logan home with flu. I've had runny nose and over all aches and pains. I'm sure im getting it from him. I'm hoping Sunday that one of his parents will be home so I can try to get some sleep.
Drank my water, ate a banana, and set out the trash cans as today is pick up day. Logged food and water. Off to basics again. I won't use the " starting over again term", as it sounds depressing and failed again.
Oh man, I'm sneezing like crazy. Both kids are still asleep so I'm going to go out to the kitchen and brew some coffee.
Everyone enjoy your day.

It's hard to find the right words when something happens like this.
I've been to 5 funerals this past year of friends I've known for a very long time. You see the family, tell them how sorry you are for their loss. But, it sounds so little in comforting them. I truly am sorry that this loss has touched your family. I will say an extra prayer for her family .

DAVID - "I would say the same thing to both you and your SD. You are important unique individuals that bring good things to your family. May be the best way to deal with your SD and her leech is to start pointing out all of the good things she does, how hard working she is, how she is fun to be around anything that you see is good and helpful. May be if she hears it enough she will realize she should be hearing it from her partner." GREAT ADVICE FROM JUSTME!

Shari - I have the Emeril Lagasse one. It is about the same size as a toaster oven and my daughter uses it as a toaster oven and I use the air fryer function. It does a lot more things but we just changed from the one that is advertised all the time on TV "The Airfryer Oven." Which I really liked as an airfryer but it did not have a toaster function.

I had lunch with my last living SIL my niece, my daughter and her children yesterday. It was great. But I couldn't sleep last night and have been na;;ing off and on all day.

I was going to say I started the day off with "back to basics", large glass of water, my morning meds. Then that went out the window . Made 2 hamburger bun with ham sandwiches. Calories....calories... Calories......
I just can't get a handle on anything. So many things going on at home. Both cars need to go to shop etc.
They stopped my Counciling sessions way before the holidays.
I actually feel health wise overall at Rock bottom. Sorry I know I'm just feeling sorry for myself but I just don't know if I can do it anymore.

Justme,
My answer to getting money help if bill goes over a certain amount....
Blood from a emoticon ( closest to a turnip I could find,).
They wait till we go to sleep then go out and crank thermostat to 70-72*.
It's a game to wake up in middle of night and keep turning up to 74*.
Heck they drive our cars
Both on my insurance,
They give us $200 a month for food
And $100 towards car insurance.
Mind you... He's 6ft. 7in. 5 homemade hamburgers is a snack.as he calls an appetizer.....
Each make over $500 a week but can't go to work or out with anything less than all designer clothes.
Complains...I never have money ...I have to spend it " on the "D" kid for clothes, diapers and wipes.!!!!!
They don't know the real value of money.the sad thing is he is clear he doesn't want to get married, and she said she would never move out or move anywhere with him. I keep or did keep asking her then what's the point of the relationship, why keep him around, he is a terrible verbal abuser. He keeps her thinking she's no good and lucky to have him.
Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't say anything anymore as even being in the same room with him makes me physically ill.

So nice to have everyone here,

I have been a little under the weather, just a cold and a cough, but it has kept me worn out. I am still on my plan of 3 meals a day no snacks and no added sugar. It seems to be working.

David - WOW!! You got a lot done and 2 sick kids. You must be feeling better to get all of that done. I hope your health continues to improve.
Is it possible to have your SD and baby daddy contribute to the electric bill anytime it goes over a given amount? My DD and SIL pay the utility bills and that keeps them on their toes. They pay everything except the propane.

Shari - so nice to have you back. I love cooking my pizza in my air fryer oven. The crust comes out so crispy.

Deby - You are a champ. This does not sound like an easy lifestyle change and you are so inspiring to tell us what is required and how you are handling it. You are a rock star.

Spark on

Woo boy.....
This has been a non-stop week. I've had both grandkids at home entire week today is our first day back to daycare and school.our grandson somehow came in contact with somebody that was infected with boils so he had boils and I couldn't let him go. And my granddaughter was home from elementary because she had a stomach bug. It's Friday I'm beat I'm run down I'm running run over overdone and everything else.I got coffee in the pot brewing I'm sitting here at the kitchen table I turned off the AC and open up both doors with the screens on them and our bedroom window.it's something like 68-69 right now I think it's only go supposed to go up to 73 and there's supposed to be a cool front coming through tonight. Our dad gum electric bill was almost $400. the kids are like polar bears as soon as we go to sleep or go in our room they Crank that dadgum AC down to like 70 they will go out leave the TV on and leave all their lights on.I'm hoping that with everybody gone back to where they're supposed to be that I can get back to keeping the doors and windows open to get some fresh air and cut down on electric bill.I know Christmas had a little bit something to do with it but all I have is two figurines in the yard and a strand of lights under the eave along the roof.I also had a five foot artificial Christmas tree inside that has those little itty bittys sparkling lights.and yes with everything going on I still got all that stuff up I haven't turned anything on outside for like a week. I've got to work on the floors today with steam cleaning and clean up the rooms I'm going to split the house in half so I don't die the first day.and then over the weekend I'm going to try to get all that stuff outside put away in our storage unit out in the back. Should Valentine's day is going to sneak up on me and I will still have Christmas junk up.
Okay, the coffee's ready and so am I so off I go.hope each and every one of you have an awesome day enjoy your Friday and I will check back in later.

Truth be told.... I just took a break for a brief period. Looking forward to next Tuesday when I finally get the epidural steroid shot in my neck. I normally don't want time to fly by.... but in this case I'll make an exception; can't wait. Both Christmas and New Years was quiet and uneventful. It was peaceful and greatly enjoyed. I was gifted a new pizza stone because I forgot to take out my old stone from the oven we replaced. It was taken away along with the stove. I also got a new Mr. Coffee machine, which I like much better than the previous one.

Hi everyone - Welcome back Shari and Happy New Year

I'm still doing well, though have had a problem with being dizzy a lot. I have an inner ear condition called Menier's Disease that can cause this, but it's usually barely, if at all noticeable. It's been really bad the last few days, like can barely stand up bad. Thank good for my husband, who is always there to take care of me when I need it. I did develop at UTI and have been on antibiotics, so I wonder if that aggravated it.

I'm enjoying eating real food again, even if it has to be pureed. Scrambled eggs wth a little salsa is the best! I have to eat pureed through the 16th, then can start eating real, soft, moist food. Probably only in 1/4-1/2 c portions per meal, but it will feel good to chew again!

The best part is I'm down to 207 lbs. That's from a high of 258 when I started on the program to have the surgery on Oct 3 and when I weighed in at the doctor office on Dec 12, I was at 232 lbs. It's pretty crazy. The hardest part is trying to get all the fluids, food, pills, etc. down every day as it has to be spread out and taken in very small quantities. Pail is limited to a few twinges around the incision sites, so I'm able to get out and walk, though I have to take breaks when the dizziness comes on.

Leaving for Maryland on the 15th to see my daughter and grandtwins, busy getting ready for participating in Portland's International Cat Show (our shelter has a booth that I'm organizing) where we'll do cat adoptions, raffles, information providing on spay and neuter, etc. It's always fun, though a lot of work. It's one of the biggest judged cat shows in the world, so we see just about every breed of cat there is, and attracts a huge number of spectators. It's pretty cool and a great opportunity for our little private non-profit shelter.

Looking forward to less rain someday - wish I could send some to Australia. Hope you're all having a good start to your new year.

Debby, so glad your procedure went as you had hoped. My mil had the "pouch" procedure done. She lost almost 100lbs.
Just remember there will still be both good and not so good days. Cherish them all as they pass by so fast.

I got to eat real food today! Yay! It had to be pureed, as will all my food for the next two weeks, but it sure tastes good after four weeks of milk or protein shakes only. Breakfast was 1 egg with 1.5 T salsa and one T peaches. I'm stuffed! Weight is still falling off. I'm down almost 50 lbs since starting this journey Oct 3. Unfortunately, though, I think I may have developed a UTI, so off to urgent care for me. Hope everyone is having a good start to the new year.

Alot of time for lunch I'll make a sandwich for lunch. I end up eating 2 so I'm trying to cut back to 1 with handful of chips.
I know it makes a difference I know on calories.
Drink water or koolaid without real sugar.
