packing & getting to the airport is not what bothers me, it's the getting around the airport, going through security ok, & then I have to deal with immigration when I fly to & from the U.S. Have a great trip!

BRENDA
Patti holding her hand over her mouth is what a lot of Japanese women do too! I can't for the life of me! understand WHY they do that----they can't hear each other talk!
the way she talks & talking through the entire show would definitely annoy me as well.
I'm glad for you that you had a deverrsion yesterday

I also agree with Bonnie---you are so good at figuring things out! good for you! I could certainly use you around sometimes!

BONNIE
I hope that snow melts soon & doesn't wreck your dinner

ELIZA
how wa syour work day?

The snow never made its appearance. It just seems to be a cold rain. I haven't gone to tone chiime pracitce yet. It won't be until 1 pm this afternoon. Hopefully the rain will stop so that I can ride my bike . If not, I'll take the train

Oh. and I too, love to hear the goings on about all of you too emoticon

Bonnie, what a bummer you are getting snow, At least you have time to celebrate Christmas dinner with Amy and the children before the snow hits tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed that it does not come early.

Have a good day.

Glad you got your printer to work. You are so good about figuring that stuff out. Congrats.

IT turned cold here this morning. We are supposed to get about 4 to 5 inches of snow overnight, then it is going to warm up and turn to rain in the morning. If that really happens it will be a terrible mess.

Sigh. Well, I suppose I have to tolerate some winter.

I am going out to dinner with Amy, her kids, Natalie and Zachary, and their significant others. We were unable to have Christmas because Amy had to work. I am glad it is not going to snow until early morning.

Have a good weekend all.

I woke up at 9 and it started snowing tiny flakes with a few bigger ones interspersed. I don't think it will stick because yesterday the weather report said the snow was moving North. Our town is NE of Seattle.

Goodbye Mary. I am praying you have a good flight.

Michele, did you make it to your tone chime lessons? I would not go if it was going to snow either. I am a pansy when it comes to bad weather. I just hunker down for the duration. I pray the wind does not come up and knock down trees.

The road going up to the top of the hill behind us is very steep with homes and very narrow roads. Homeless people live in the woods. Katrina walked up the trail carrying her little dog and found a lot of trash and broken glass last summer I have never done that nor have any inclination to try it. Too scary for me.

Patti did not bother me yesterday because her niece spent the night with her,. She lives at the Coast and was having some flooding. She left yesterday afternoon.

Patti started to watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy with me after she broke up with her "boyfriend" last year, She talks the entire time and has this annoying habit of holding her hand in front of her mouth and speaks softly. So I turn the TV down so I can hear her and she asks me to turn it back up because she can't hear it. So mostly I just pretend I know what she is saying.. She really does not listen. It gets complicated. I don't know why she decided to watch it with me other than she told me she does not like to be alone. She can watch it on her TV. I told her I like to be alone but evidently she didn't listen. What she talks about constantly is her family and things they do and what has happened in the past and their arguments and trips she has taken. I could care less because I do not know those people. She is constantly complaining and it gets tiresome,

I love visiting with all of you and hearing about your families and fun trips and trials and tribulations. I think what I am saying about Patti is she is just too overbearing everyday.

Michele, there is no chance she can find another friend here and not much chance of getting new residents. We have no empty apartments. Many here just stay in their apartments except to go down to get their mail or pass through the lobby going to appointments and shopping,

It has stopped snowing. Nothing stuck. Temps are in the mid 40's today.

Did I tell you that I finally got my printer hooked up yesterday after three hours? I deleted the program and the installed it again using the CD that came with it and it works. Why it did not work was because I had hooked it up to wireless and I do not have my laptop hooked to wireless.

One more quick hello/goodbye this morning! I slept okay but as soon as I woke up I started rethinking what I was bringing! I'm never sure of what we will do and want a variety of clothes 'just in case.' I'm taking a larger suitcase so I can tuck in a couple of lightweight tees, I guess.

For some reason, navigating the airport doesn't bother me, Michele. I fly once or twice a year but was even able to ride the train from one terminal to another in Atlanta in December! If i can do that kind of thing I'm okay. I just hate the packing and getting to the airport. Hope you don't have bad weather for your class today.

Bonnie, I do hope Maci will be able to stay out of the hospital, at least for a while. Such terrible stress for the whole family.

Brenda, I hope you're feeling better by now. You, too, John. No more swelling, I hope.

Doris, it's your husband who hurt himself? I hope he'll be okay. Injuries, especially while we aren't at home, are scary.

Okay...gotta get busy and pack!! See you good friends when I can.

that is great news about Maci; I hope you wake up this Friday morning to even BETTER news! emoticon

MARY
I agree with Brenda: emoticon already! I hope you do have a good time
I was so stressed the entire time I was in Raleigh. I also was nervous about navigating the airports. Tad & Annie both helped me! I now feel like a "Big girl" & know I can do it myself

BRENDA
Christopher did say that the snow was melting. but that is all that I heard
I hope you are feeling better than you were yesterday. Has Patti been bothering you recently?

DORIS
It was SIL who had that accident, right? It sounded terrible! I do hope he is better soon. I have spasms down my left leg sometimes due to my herniated disks ( I have 3 of them in my back) & the pain is awful. Trying to get comfortable is really tough

It is going to rain tonight, but the forecast says a combination of rain/ snow is possible.
I hope it's just rain, but even then, it's going to be cold! Brrr! emoticon
If it does in fact rain I will take the train to Junko's. If there is snow, even a little, I won't go at all.

Have a great time. I understand the stress of flying. Hope you enjoy your family.

DORIS

Maci is having some issues tonight, but the cardiac team is keeping them out of the hospital for now. She may have to go in for a chest xray tomorrow. Hoping she gets a bit more stress free time for a bit.

Good night all

Yesterday was such a busy day that I've used today as recovery day. We were on the go all day, and then ended the day by grilling steaks for DD and SIL. I don't think I told you that he had an accident Monday morning and spent the day in the ER. He is extremely sore and still having muscle spasms. He pulled a pin on the post driver that he shouldn't have pulled, and it threw him to the ground and hit him on the back. He is fortunate to have no broken bones or internal injuries. Even on hard meds, the spasms are still very painful. Hope he gets past this soon.

John and Brenda, glad you're both better. Brenda, I'm also glad your weather is improving. We have had light mist all day, but temps stayed in the mid 50's. John, best wishes for your test next week.

Bonnie, is the apartment where Maci's family is staying a part of the hospital property? So glad she is improving and that they are out where life can be more normal. Hearing your weather is better makes me happy!

Michele, the train is a great idea rather than riding the bike in the rain. Good choice!

Mary, hope you have a great trip and enjoy seeing the "littles". We'll miss you.

It has been a mild weather day here today.

Had a nice visit with my friends. Then I stopped at mom and dad's and helped mom wash her hair. She did not go to Angie's house yesterday for her shower because Angie has a cold and mom does not want to be exposed. I don't blame her, she has had enough.

Not much else. God Bless

Well, I will have to check into dental insurance if my old crowns start to not be good anymore. Thanks for the info, Brenda and Bonnie.

Eliza, MDO is Mother's Day Out. My former church had a 2 day a week program for 12 months through Pre-K. I was the Story Lady from 2015 to 2017 until I moved. I read theme based stories to all the classes and also did a lot of subbing. Some teachers, as usual, we well prepared. Others had nothing in place. If I would know that ahead of time I could bring all kinds of resources with me but most of the time I would get a call 30 minutes before class started. The church was only about 10 minutes from my house but still, I like to be prepared! I could never sub like you do!

Brenda, I'm going to California for 10 days to visit with my son and his family. I haven't seen them since March and haven't been there in over a year...October of 2018! I'm looking forward to it but will be missing a lot of activities here.

I'm going to check in with Southwest in 45 minutes then get my mani/pedi at 4:00! I decided to take Dave's old beat up but big suitcase instead of trying to cram everything into mine. I will take a small carry-on since we'll be going to visit both of my DIL's parents in 2 different towns!

Mary, where are you off to? My dental insurance is through my dentist and because it is I do not get credit for it to deduct off my rent. But the cash I pay him for work done is deductible.

I have a gold bridge on my lower right and four crowns upper front that were all put in in the mid 60's. All together they all cost under a thousand dollars.. That is roughly 55 years ago! Now i pay $1300 for one crown.

All the snow is gone and it is 42 degrees. I hope the cold weather has passed us. No rain is expected today.

Enjoy your mani/pedi, and have a great time on your trip.

BRENDA

So glad you are feeling well.

I do have dental insurance. It cost me about $36 a month. It pays for 2 cleanings and xrays for the year, and something on other procedures, but not all.

It is a help.

JOHN

Hope your feeling better too.

I am going to lunch with a couple of old friends from high school. The girl, Diane, I have seen over the years, but this will be the first time I have seen Bob, I think since high school.

Wonder if he will think I have changed. LOLLOLLOL

Maci was discharged yesterday. Karissa, Josh, her dad, and she have gone to an apartment close to the hospital. They are aware of what to look for if she has to go back quickly Hopefully she will do better without the stress of being in the hospital.

God Bless, I have to get going

Oh, John, you are a hoot! Once when I ate nuts that were mixed with pecans or walnuts my lips were horribly swollen. My middle son, the CA one, was at home and when he saw me he said, 'Wow, mom...you look just like Angelina Jolie.....but not really!' I ended up in the ER and had a rebound effect from the Benadryl. Please go to the doctor or tell him about your reaction. This reaction is anaphylactic shock. Do you have an Epi Pen? I have carried one for 20 years but have never used it....but I've had them administer it in the ER. Be careful!! and do let your doctor know!!

Brenda, that's a great deal on your dental insurance. I might look into it but this new crown is a fluke. If he says the older crowns will need replacement it might be something to look into. Are you doing okay wth people leaving you alone?

I have line dancing and will get my toes and fingernails done before my trip tomorrow! It's been 5 months since a pedi and I can't wait! I broke one of my big toenails and it's just now grown in enough to have work done! I am looking forward to seeing my grandchildren and my kids!

John, I found out I was allergic to Penicillin when I was in about 8th grade and had welts all over my body. I hope the swelling goes down quickly. I will have to look up Anna Nichole and see how big her boobs are. I do not know who she is. I am allergic to Ibuprofen too. That makes my tongue swell up.

I wrote an earlier post but lost it when I hit send. A message came up and said I lost my signal. It was a very brilliant post too. emoticon

Mary, I pay $54 dollars a month to the dentist and that takes care of x-rays and four cleanings a year. Then when I have work done and I pay the bill in full I get a 20% discount. That is why I save money to pay in full because I do not have a credit card.

Michele, I hope the weather clears quickly for Christopher. This weather is supposed to move on the next few days. Our cold and rain is headed for Portland, Oregon. I do not mind sharing with them.

I have been using my heating pad to heat up my bed before I get in it. Directions say not to leave it on your body for extended periods because it could blister the skin. And unplug it after use.

Have a good day tomorrow . I am tired now so am heading for bed. I am much better tonight so whatever made me sick is over It must have been that peanut butter.

Good Night everyone. emoticon

Mary: Sorry to hear of your tooth problem. Glad you get a good price. Hope all goes well.

Bonnie: Everything goes better with exercise. The fountain of youth pill it is.

Speaking of pills I am up cause I had an allergic reaction to some penicillin antibiotics the urologist gave me . Welts all over and my lips swelled up like anna nichole's boobs. I did several things including took some benedryl. Extra water, water pill, aspirin, and a fish sandwich at McDs. Not sure the last helped. Starting to get sleepy. It seems to be abating somewhat. Welts come and go like my girlfriends did. No breathing pbms just swollen lips and places on skin. It is a pain though.

Brenda: It is fresh food that usually gets me. Some stores will sell anything people will but from the hot food or salad bars. Canned and frozen never gave me food poisoning.

The old dentist did my 'new' crown in January last year. He DID retire at the end of December, so that's why I saw this new dentist today. He's 10 minutes from my house rather than 40 and no traffic! It's a bummer about the crown. He's giving me a senior discount...he does that for people in my neighborhood! And it will cost several hundred dollars less than what the old dentist charged so that's good too. I don't have dental insurance with Medicare, nor do I have a separate dental policy. I have only had 4 fillings in my life...and those molars have crowns now. The old fillings/teeth gave out over the years. I've been very fortunate to have good teeth overall. But this will be a disappointment, having to get the new crown again.

That is sad that your new crown is broken. I guess it was time for that dentist to retire. So sorry

Glad you are feeling better.

Mary, what a bummer your crown cracked after only a year. Do you have dental insurance? I have to save up about $1500 for my next crown in March. I have most of it saved in my stash bag.

We have just had snow flurries on and off all day. It is still very cold out.

Yes, as the day goes on I feel a lot better than I did all night.

I'm so glad you're better, John, and Brenda, I do hope you will be okay soon. I try to check expiration days but sometimes I forget. I thought I'd gone through my pantry and gotten rid of old things but every once in a while I do find something that's expired.

I had a good dental visit with the new dentist. Boo....my 'new' crown from a year ago has a crack in it!! My old dentist retired. So bad. Now I have to have ANOTHER new crown. Not fair!

JOHN

Glad you are feeling better.

BRENDA

So sorry you were so sick. Hope that is over.

I don't think you have ever really needed to exercise, you have always been physical in your daily life.

I used to love to exercise. I used to swim a couple of miles a week, I also walked a lot.

I have had problems with my back for probably 40 years, maybe longer. I used to get really good in to an exercise routine, and then my back would go out.

Then, my doctor, and my chiropractor would tell me that I had to stop until they got my back, back in place to stay. But, it would only stay for a while.

It was very frustrating. After having my back surgery in 2011, I am better, but still it is an issue.

That is why I am so thrilled to have finally found something that I can do on a regular basis.

Amy and I went to the Y today and got in the pool. I water walked and swam for 50 minutes. Felt pretty good.

But, even that can make me back sore. Sigh.

I will be on my bike again tomorrow.

Maci is going to be discharged. Karissa did not say when, but that it is coming. I am thrilled about that.

God Bless, all. Take care of yourselves.

I had a terrible night with abdominal pain and cramping then woke up with a terrible earache around 3 I looked all over for some ear drops but found none so I just put a piece of cotton in my ear and covered my head. I finally got to sleep and did not wake up until 11. I have my "do not disturb" sign on my door. I looked again for the ear drops and found them just a little while ago in the back of my medicine cabinet. My ear does not hurt right now.

Now I am wondering if it was the apple I ate for lunch yesterday because I have not had one for a while. Or it could have been the peanut butter I put on my English Muffin. After I ate it I checked the expiration date on the jar and it said "best by Jan 1 2019". A whole year! So I threw it away and checked the dates on the other two jars I have and they are fine. I do not have a fever but I feel cold inside.

I get the peanut butter from the food bank and government commodities once a month. I am going to be more diligent to check the dates from now on.

I made my chicken vegetable soup and it is pretty good,. I forgot to put the garbonzo beans in it so will do that later.

It is going on noon and it is 31 degrees and trying to snow and the wind is coming up. Here comes the storm................It was 62 in here when I got up. I do not leave my heater on at night.

Bonnie, I have never been an exerciser. I just chased children everyday and had jobs where I was on my feet moving around all day. Now I sit in my recliner and read and write posts and watch TV. I do walk the floors, halls and three sets of stairwells everyday. I read and think about exercising and then I think I won't, emoticon

Mary, how nice that you stay in touch with former students. It is great that you are getting your medical help close to home now.

Thank you all for the positive words about my lifestyle changes. I am feeling so much better, and so happy that after so many years of trying, I have finally found an exercise that I can do without inducing extra pain in my back.

I have always been an exercise person, but with the issues of pain I have had for so many of the last years, I was having more depression because of not being able to exercise.

This is really a miracle for me.

Thank you all for being there during those difficult years as well.

Also thank you for supporting Maci. I know that she is getting better because of all of the prayers.

God Bless all. Have a good day/night.

Good morning, friends. I decided to try my post in Word so that if I lost it again I could copy and paste! Itís SO frustrating to have replied to everyone to the best of my ability and the computer shut down and I lost it! Even when I got it back up (and have no reason why it did that because it was plugged in and fully charged) and tried to Ďrestore the pagesí nothing was there. So here goes once again!

I was on the waiting list to see my new doctor but had an appointment for late March. On Monday afternoon I got a text message say8ing that an appointment had opened up for tomorrow. I jumped on it! I got to have a long appointment with the new doctor and loved her. She actually was supposed to just do a Ďmeet the doctorí 15 minute appt. but she did my physical, EKG, and sent me downstairs for blood work. So my anxiety about getting all of this done before my eye surgery is over! I did try to cancel another visit with the pre-op clinic but they said I have to go through the eye doctor. I will do that today. On top of everything, I will see my new dentist today---Iím getting things set up in Pearland instead of west Houston!

Brenda, I treasure my quiet time, too. I hope you can lock the door and put your sign up anytime you can. I wish people would honor you. You donít need a new playmate, lol! They know you donít want company a lot! I hope the freezing weather wonít impact you. Stay inside and stay warm!

Doris, Iím sorry about your friend but glad heís no longer in pain. I hope his family will know thatís heís with God and so fine now! I was able to tell the new doctor that I do line dancing and water aerobics in the summer but that I know I need to do weights and walk more. She said Ďweíll address that at your next appointmentí and my weight, too! I was down a pound and a half from last week though, so thatís great. I hope you can get into a good workout mode.

And Bonnie, you are doing so well with the bike riding. I hope you get the drywall finished. I need to get so much done around here but I just canít get going on it until after my California trip. I did see that Maci was making good progress. Thatís wonderful!

Michele, Iíve never flown standby but I would imagine with Annieís job, she knows how it works! You canít hold yourself or Tad responsible for Benís actions and words. Bonnie is rightÖhe made a poor choice but heís trying to hold up his end of the bargain. I would just stay away when things seem to be heating up. I wish they would let you and Tad be grandparents but itís on their terms only. Move on and donít let it define you!

Eliza, I had 31 years of K-2nd grade, then other years of subbing when my kids were little and 2 years of MDO after I Ďretired.í I really enjoyed it most of the time but Iím so glad not to have to teach anymore. I chatted with a friend yesterday about how things changed over the years. Having only taught in small parochial schools and one private school, I never had death threats or children who harmed me or the
other students other than a few who were eventually dismissed for terrible behavior. But I never made a lot of money, either. My two kids who are/were teachers made more their first year than I did when I was through!

I had a wonderful Sunday afternoon at the Eagle Scout ceremony. My former first grader is a junior at the high school my boys attended. He mentioned me in his opening statement of thanks to those who had guided him along the way! It brought tears to my eyes! I got to visit with his parents, his younger brother who was also a former student, and another boy who was in my class with the first one! Special time.

Today I have a lot of loose ends to tie up at home, then have the new dental appointment and an HOA meeting tonight!

it seems we are all taking turns at losing our posts! who is next? Hopefully none of us!

ELIZA
I am grateful for my children every day. Thank you for reminding me of what I HAVE vs what I HAVEN'T! You are dear friend! And I agree---subs are so essential, so valued!

BONNIE
I always look forward to what/how you have to say about what is going on. I deeply value your opinions as you are older than I. Tad & I here have no one older than us; no one to give us a perspective on life. Thank you!

your assement about Ben seems to be right on track. I told Tad ( I have to prop him up & support him often!) the very same thing. Ben is a good man & is desperately trying to be an honorable family man . The only one he can "lash out " at is Tad, knowing that Tad ( and I for that matter) will still love him

I'm so glad you had Dennis! He is a treasure for you
And you are doing so wonderful on your bike! Did you get below zero temps?

I did see the things on Maci today. I'm so glad for all of you that she is doing better!

BRENDA
Yes! Again, Christopher said it was snowing again, & most everything shut downin the Seattle area as the roads were frozen
I hope too, that Patti will find a new friend & leave you in your peace

I too, MUST!! MUST!! have my private time or I will go nuts!

DORIS
I am also sorry to hear about your friend's passing! You are all in my daily prayers & I did keep you in my daily Rosary this morning

Has anyone heard from Marielle recently?

I did get a little wet, but more than that, it was just darn cold! The damp cold is colder herre than the dry cold
The sun is out now, however

I am at peace. And I thank Our Lord daily that my kids & Tad are still healtly, & have no severe problems.
It is not for me to understand, but just to trust. And I keep telling God "thank you " for these small troubles, as it gives me MORE reason to trust Him more & more!

I went to the end of the hall and looked out the window and everything is frozen including the cars. Patti and I covered our windshields the other day when we heard it would snow. I wish we had carports here. It is hard on cars sitting outside year round. I take my car in to be winterized every November.

I made a big pot of chicken veggie soup and it turned out pretty good. Now I don't have to cook the rest of the week unless I want to.

There is supposed to be a big wind storm tomorrow, colder temps and snow mixed in. Kristina may not be able to come to work if trees start falling over the roads where she lives. We are supposed to have our monthly birthday party tomorrow.

Bonnie, I am so proud of you being so diligent riding the bike. I used to have one but gave it to one of the movers when we sold our house and moved out of Tacoma. Gangs were moving into our neighborhood. Here in the valley life is a lot quieter and safer.

Doris, I am sorry your friend passed but he is at peace now. My friend Linda died of that, too. a few months ago. It is a horrible disease.

Bummer you lost your post Mary. I did that the other day too.

Eliza, will keep being available to substitute?. I am sure the children love you.

Michele, as I am writing this the Seattle area and points north are in the midst of a big storm. We are supposed to get it tomorrow. I hope everyone stays safe.

Back home again tonight!

Michele, I love Bonnie's assessment of "what you did wrong"! These are 2 independent adults who feel secure enough to leave the nest. They seem to be happy with their lives and you have a good relationship with both now. And even though Ben is nearby physically, he's the one who is farther from you emotionally, but he is committed to the family he started, which is an admirable attribute in today's world. God has blessed you!

Brenda, I understand how you feel about having the quiet time. I, too, enjoy just getting my day started slowly. Keep your lock handy!! Maybe someone new will move in soon who can meet her need for companionship. It's good that the hall heat is back on since it's been so cold there.

We have been enjoying beautiful weather the last few days, with temps in the 70's, but cooler weather is predicted by the end of this week.

Our friend with pancreatic cancer passed on yesterday. So sad for his family, but we know he was prepared to meet his Lord and no longer suffers. And that gives them peace, comfort, and hope.

Mary, I'm going to try to take your lead and get back to exercising at the fitness center. Maybe even as early as tomorrow!

Eliza, good subs are really appreciated in public schools. And that's a lot of years of service!! Congrats!!

John, hope you're doing ok by now.

Yes, BRENDA, I am so glad that Dennis fixed the soil pipe. That could have cost me thousands of dollars to have a new one put in, and what a mess it would have been.

I am grateful. Life just seems to work out as it should, most of the time. Even when I think it idid not work out so well, it was still as it was supposed to be. LOL

I just posted a video that Karissa posted a couple of hours ago of Maci, playing and laughing. It is so good to see. It is on facebook on my timeline if you want to see it.

She is a miracle child.

Had a pretty good day. It is winter and I am not depressed, so any day that is happening is a good day.

I will tell you, I am so grateful that I realized back in June that I could ride my stationary bike on a regular basis. It has made such a difference in the quality of my life.

I am feeling so much better, losing some weight and getting stronger.

I am going to meet Amy at the Y tomorrow to get into the pool, so that will be something to use a few different muscles.

But, I am thrilled that I have my stationary bike on the porch. It is so nice to go out there and ride most days. I can see the outside, but it it is raining and windy, I don't feel it. It is cold, but I put a sweatshirt on over my workout clothes, and by 15 minutes, I am warmed up and have to take it off. By the time I am all done, I am dripping sweat. That HAS to be good for me. LOL

If I am lucky, it won't get below zero this winter, and I can leave the bike out on the porch and not have to bring it inside. If I do have to, I have a place to put it.

God Bless, all

I have the chicken vegetable soup cooking in my slow cooker. While I was chopping the celery and carrots there was a blizzard for about 5 minutes. I still need to chop a couple of potatoes to put in it. Now the sun is out and all the snow is melted. The sky is blue/gray and it is 24 degrees.

I took a bunch of canned fruit downstairs and put it on the table for whoever wants it. No one was down there. This place is dead.

Bonnie, poor little Maci. I am praying for her and her family everyday. I hope you get your wall finished in a timely manner. You are so lucky to have him when you need him.

Eliza, I hope your weather warms up some soon. I hate the cold so I stay home.

John, are you feeling any better and do you have any snow?

Mary, How is your weather now?

michele, are you still having rain? Did Annie have to wait very long to get a seat? I m so glad she can visit you every so often.

WOW, that is a long time. Congratulations.

BRENDA

I am glad you were able to sleep, but that broken sleep is not the best either. I slept pretty well last night. I think I woke up a bit, but not for long.

I rode my stationary bike. It is not too cold today, in the 40's, so that was good.

It is supposed to be colder in a couple of days, I think. Every day that it is not below freezing is one day closer to summer. LOL

I am good with that.

Hope you were able to enjoy some me time today.

MICHELE

I think there is a different way to look at "what you did wrong" with your children. I think that you raised two children to be successful adults who were not afraid to take care of themselves. As for the son who is there, I think he made an unfortunate choice in a mate, and is an honorable man who is honoring his commitment.

Just a thought from someone looking in.

Dennis is supposed to come today and texture the drywall he put up yesterday, but it is almost 4pm and he may not make it. He did have someone else he was working for, so that job might have been longer. He does not carry a cell phone, so i will see what happens.

I did not have any plans for today anyway, so I can just stay home.

Made some business phone calls. Have more to make, but enough for today. I am still working on getting financial aide for mom for her hospital and nursing home bills.

Had a couple of things to take care of for myself too. Customer service some places is so good, and other so bad. I had both experiences today. The last one I had was a good one, so I decided to quite on a good note. LOL

I can always call tomorrow

My cousin's little one, Maci seems to be getting a bit better. They are waiting for a few things to even out yet, and then they may be able to be discharged. They will not come home to Ohio right away. They have a place to stay near the hospital in Boston so that if something goes wrong they can get right back to the hospital.

It would be very good for Maci if she can get out of the hospital. They poke and prod her so much that it is stressful for her.

God bless all, have a good rest of the day/night.

BRENDA
how I hate to lose a post!
I did hear that there will be more snow your way. And good for you locking your door!

I have Tokyo teaching this morning. It's raining out & I will get wet walking from the train station to Mizuho's dress shop ( a good 35 min. walk) while I wait to go to Starbucks.

It snowed overnight, not a lot, it is just on the grass. It us 23 degrees out this morning. Our high today will be 43. I looked out the window at the end of the hall and all the caregivers cars are parked on the side street so they made it in this morning.

YES! I remembered to lock my door!! I saw the police drive by checking out the upper road. There is a little squirrel in the nut tree looking for nuts but the trees are bare. Poor little thing.

The sun is coming out and I can see blue skies and big white fluffy clouds.. It is trying to snow teeny tiny flakes.

I slept 8 hours in two shifts, 1 to 3 and 5 to 9. I missed the weather report this morning but it will be back on again at 11. There is a lot of snow north of us but we are expecting more the next couple days. I am just hunkered down for the duration. This calls for a big pot of chicken vegetable soup.

Yesterday afternoon I wrote a long post and then lost it when I hit the X button instead of send. emoticon It was really brilliant too emoticon

I hope you all have a good day and all the storms have passed.

John, are you feeling any better today? I hope so.

Unlike you, I never had brothers, only sisters! so whenOS Ben, started his rebellion, I was really blown away! Now, NOTHING fases me anymore. LOL

It has been a warm January here, too. Usually it'smuch colder, & we even get snow in Feb. Two years ago, we got snow 2 weekends in a row! that was big for us, & Tokyo/Yokohama is not equipped to handle snow

BRENDA
I am sorry you forgot just the ONE time!! to lock your door.
I hope Patti will find someone else to "play" with tomorrow

Christopher did say that the snow was already melting & yes, there was much more last year

well Annie is on the bus, on her way back to Narita ( the Japanese airport in Tokyo) to hopefully fly back to Denver.

I am a little sad, always am when either she or Christopher leaves.
It seems so unfair that others have their kids & families close by & tad & I do not..
Tad said to me this morning, "What did we do wrong?"

I am trying to look at it as an opportunity to trust God's plan for us, more & more.
Chin up Michele!

Yes, I too feel like the weather is changing all over the world. It is very worrisome.

It sounds as though you might have to have a talk with Patti, or you will just have to be diligent about keeping your door locked.

It is too bad, but I know you do need your quiet time.

I had a pretty good day today. Was able to get some things done, and that always feels good.

Still have a couple of projects, but tomorrow is another day.

ELIZA

I only had brothers, no sister either. I did, and do have a lot of cousins, so I guess I never really missed not having a sister.

God Bless all

Bonnie

Bonnie, I do not remember the last time we had temps this cold. Weather is changing all over the world. At Westport here at the coast is an area called Washaway Beach because most of the homes there are gone. The ocean has claimed them. Homes that were a mile or so away from the beach are long gone. Soon there will not be any beaches left for clam digging

When Patti moved in here she had a 'boy friend" and he would pick her up Monday thru Friday at 8 am and take her to breakfast, then go bowling or shopping . They would go to lunch at the Senior Center and not come back here until late afternoon. But then he got too possessive and wanted to marry her and she told him no way so she broke up with him, He is from Guam and kept trying to convince her to go there with him. NOT ! So she has picked me for her new playmate. I wish she would find another boyfriend. She told me she does not like to be alone. I told her I do but evidently that did not register with her. I do not like going out to eat and roaming around town. I am not a joiner.
