The 21-Day Tame Your Sweet Tooth Challenge - may be a great place to start.

Also, dont go for cold turkey is my personal take. This varies for everyone, but saying 100% no to all things you are going to tackle usually leads to crashes and binges. Learning how to have "micro-portions" and truly enjoy them is often the best path.

Just keep positive about it. The negativity is what leads to self compromises that trend into reestablishing bad habits.

Getting rid of the diet soda will help tons!!! For sweetener I use Pyure (walmart) If you a go to drink I use Bai, or Bai with bubbles, both are WAY good. you can get them by the case at sam's. I also make a drink called Good Girl Mooshine Your drink it in a quart jar, and put the juice of 1 lemon, 1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar(with the mother), 1/4tsp orange and cherry extract, and 1 -2 tsp pyure. Add ice and and water, shake it good, and use a fun straw. This is great at canceling my sugar cravings.

How did your cravings do today?

I'm nurse and have done all the research, including looking into test results. The best 2 no calorie sweeteners are Splenda (sucralose) and stevia. Very few side effects from either. Nutra-Sweet isn't too bad as long as you can tolerate the 2 primary substances in it. Ace-K not bad either as long as you have no other serious health conditions and you don't get too much. I do drink diet soda, coffee and tea. If my sweet tooth gets too bad I go to sugar free cookies. It has gotten me over the hump in the past.

Welcome to the group!! I also have a crazyy sweet tooth, I love baked goods. I live near St Louis where there are TONS of bakeries. So it can be tough.

For the low sugar that is a great idea. I use a product called True Lemon, in the lemonade and watermelon flavors to get me over the I NEED SWEET hump. They have very little sugar, and mainly use stevia. You can find the at walmarts and targets.

Jump into the daily chit chat and tell us about your struggles, that is where you will get the most feed back.

Hugs,

Hattie

I am on SparkPeople hoping to find a group to hold me accountable for my diet and later on exercise. My husband loves me and helps me justify my choices, but I have also been known to get angry with him too. I need someone I can report good back and talk about slips to help me stay on track. I have a horrid sweet tooth and my first mayor goal is to stick to low sugar options or natural sugar options. Is there anyone wanting the same type of support?
