Went out for a "short" walk and came back 30 min later. Had a talk with my son about doing my first race together. It's a short fun run, but I've always been too afraid to be the last one in and embarrassed about it. Decided that I'm going to keep pushing my walking time and speeds to do my best when the day gets here.

I bought a pair of pants last summer because they were 75% off but a size too small. Put them on over the weekend and they are baggy!

Walked to the store last night for lady things for my teenager because the boyfriend took the car and the keys to the truck. I walked 3.8 miles in 43 minutes, that includes the time at the store. Woohoo, I'm making progress!

My almost 17 year old daughter and I did a 10k walk yesterday and she said it was fun and that we should hang out more often

Today (well yesterday considering it's well after midnight) I managed to reason with myself and NOT eat again after already going over my calorie and fat recommendations. I was really craving salt but did not go to the kitchen... even though the devil me on my shoulder was pretty darn convincing. emoticon

Since eating healthier and less "bloat inducing" foods, I've noticed that my feet hurt less at the end of the day. I stand a lot of the work day and I work 12 hour shifts so that is a huge blessing for me. emoticon

I'm ready!! Here's to being healthy.

My house guest asked at least a dozen times if I wanted any snack (even named a list of my favorites) last night and I did not cave in. Even better, I truly did not want any of it. I kept thinking about how it would make me feel sick, and I probably wouldn't sleep well. Definitely progress for someone who used to eat sugary snacks 'round the clock!

I have actually been able to turn down food when I'm really not hungry. Before I would eat just because something was there, and even if I initially said no it wouldn't last 5 minutes because I would keep thinking about it. I have a food addiction or something. It feels good to say no emoticon

My most recent non scale victory was to get out of my funk and push myself to exercise. I woke up, feel more refreshed and ready to succeed.

I have learned while I have been trying to lose weight it is not just about the number on the scale that shows success but those non scale victories.
Either increasing exercise, clothes you can fit into or even trying new food can be a non scale victory.
