I have been thinking about that lately... the turning 40 thing and hoping that I am below 200 before that time so that I can leave this group, not for being in my 40s, but just for being below the '100 pounds to lose' mark. I turn 40 in November so I know this a attainable goal. I just have to keep myself motivated...eat less, move more!

RK~

It may only be one step, measuring mere inches, but it IS a measurable amount of movement that is aimed in the right direction. Remember this the next time you feel you've not done enough and get discouraged. ~Me

I have been there too. I once was a member and lost some weight and then lost track of what helped me start reaching my goals and quit spark people. Then in 2013 I had my 5th child in July which being older struggled with blood pressure and was on bed rest for a long time and ended up reaching 250 again. Then I started to slowly lose that weight again when in September my oldest son 14 was diagnosed with Desmoplastic small round blue cell tumors and we were flown to minneapolis mn the next day to begin cancer treatment. My world came crashing down around me when they gave him a 2% chance of survival in the first year and only a 15% chance of survival for 5 years after treatment. Needless to say I have really put on the weight living here at the Ronald McDonald House. I am thankful for the meals they provide and all of the nonstop sweets but I have to focus and get healthy for all my children. I started in the first part of January and just watch what I eat with a little exercise at 310. Weight us starting to come off which makes me fill good because like others I do not want to have to move to the 40 year olds with 100 or more pounds to lose.

We can do this. I will help with positive motivation to any one who needs it. With The Lord any thing is possible. My son is fighting his hardest and I need to do the same! Good luck everyone and keep your focus. We can do this together!!!

I have had those thoughts!

I am big into visualization as a motivator and it keeps me determined as well. I see myself 170 pounds lighter by the time I am forty, I have a couple of years till then.

I turn 40 in July and I have thought about that for the past year. I've been a part of the group for nearly 4 years and have been up and down with my weight

God is my strength!

NOTE: My weight loss ticker is done up for shorter goals and once reached will change goal weight again.

You are speaking my language! I lost almost 90 pounds last year, and have gained back at least 30 of it. Between the weather, just not feeling great and weight gain, I have zero motivation to get back on track. But I know I have to, cuz I am not going to lose that 90 pounds completely again. That's my deal with myself!

I have definitely had that thought! I've also considered that I spent my 20's being fat, half of my 30's being fat so far... and I just don't want to do it anymore!

I have been on SP for a while too. I lost, I quit, I gained, and now I'm back. I'm trying to wrap my head around the idea that motivation isn't what's going to make this work because it's a feeling, and feelings don't last. I'm working on cultivating determination. As I said in my blog, when I can't have motivation I can still have determination. No matter how I'm feeling I can still choose to do what's best for me and my well-being.

Hang in there- we can do this!

You bet I have had that thought. I am current 39 years old. I will be turning 40 this October.
Last February in 2013 I came here thinking about lossing weight and didn't try. Then came back in November 2013 when I got hit with a weight increase and close to 300 pounds.
That not only depressed me, but it scared and motivitated me to lose weight this time around.
Do I wish to be in Onderland by my Birthday this year? You bet! I won't be upset if it doesn't happend I'm just going to try my best.

I was looking at the name of this team this morning, and thought..."If I don't get it together, I will have to move to the 40-somethings team". Anyone else?

I have been on SparkPeople for a while, got frustrated, completely deleted my account and then started over.... Maybe I am just having a pity party kind of day. I have been completely unmotivated lately, haven't been to the gym in months (let the holiday season win), and keep making excuses(which I hate) for my poor choices. I lost 34 pounds from July 29, 2013 to November 11, 2013 and have successfully gained back half of that since.

Sorry for the ramble... just needed to get all that out!
