The hubs and I went camping with friends this week. It was a lot of fun! We even took a trip to see Maroon Bells, which was incredibly beautiful! And we saw a bear while we were there. It was across the lake from us and up the mountain side a little.

Tomorrow I'm subbing for zumba (for the preschoolers) again. Then I have some chores to get done at home. Then it will be my fitness class (weightlifting) followed by some stuff for work. I'll end the day with dinner with some friends.

We could, but it's not worth it. This was the first time in 2 years of living here that I actually wanted A/C, and the temperature has come back down now. It usually cools off rather quickly in the evenings and by morning (if we leave our windows open all night) it's usually in the low 60s inside.

I made it to weightlifting class today. I got a new personal record! I now have a max of 85 lbs on 3 power cleans + 2 jerks. We also did a million box jumps today. In addition to that, I taught preschool ballet and beginning teen jazz.

Tomorrow we're leaving to go camping with friends for a few days. The campground is first come, first serve, so hopefully we'll get a spot.

Today I went to Pilates class and weightlifting class. Normally I do the weightlifting on Monday and Tuesday mornings, but my work schedule is a little different than normal this week, so I've had to adjust my schedule a bit.

In other news, we've had a heat wave this week. I live in Colorado and we hit 100 every day so far this week. We also don't have a/c in our house, so it's been rather uncomfortable in our house. It was still 82 in our house when I went to bed last night. Tomorrow is only supposed to be in the low 90s, then it looks like we have 70s and 80s coming up for us.

I'm sorry to hear about your struggles with food. I know it can be tough to break that cycle. But try to think of exercise as punishment. Rather, it is a celebration of what your body can do.

I made it to weightlifting class this morning. It was pretty good. My shoulders should be pretty sore tomorrow. Part of our workout was called "Death by Push Press."

I also got some cleaning done today and taught some dance classes. Tonight we are picking up a friend from the airport. She is visiting until Saturday.

I did a bad thing last night. I have been doing so good too. I started working out 4 times a week and eating much healthier. Last night I heard about a new NY style pizza place. Best NY pizza i have ever had. I felt so guilty afterwards. I didnt just eat 1 slice. I ate 5 slices of an 18 in pizza. On the good side of things my breakfast and lunch were very healthy. I then ate another slice this morning. Im going to work out extra hard tonight to punish myself for my poor choices. Only I can break this cycle. I feel like i need a sponsor or something to call when i want to make these choices.

Sorry I've been missing around SP lately. It's been a busy season at work. I just finished up the last of the recitals for this season, unless I get asked to help with one more, which is a very real possibility. Plus one of the studios where I work has added a second location and I will be teaching there as well. In addition, I've started TAKING dance classes again instead of just teaching them. And I've been doing a lot of observation so I can learn from the other instructors as well.

How is everyone else doing?

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. But I imagine it's nice to at least have an explanation. I had severe unexplained abdominal pain starting 8 months ago, and the worst part was not knowing what caused it. I was diagnosed with food allergies a few weeks ago. Avoiding the food I'm allergic to (peanuts, pork, lettuce, onion, and soy) has allowed me to come off my medicine and not have any pain.

My goals are very new to me. After a life changing diagnosis of fibromyalgia a few weeks ago has really changed things for me. It explains a lot but my focus needs to change. This week my goals are to start changing my diet to less inflammatory foods (less sugar and wheat) and to start yoga at least 4 times this week. Its so different to go back and start what feels like a slow start but i'm hoping it will help me feel better and keep it more sustainable.

I like to buy the 100 calorie nut packages or buy bulk and put them in zip lock bags for serving size. Baby carrots are good. Maybe some celery with peanut butter. More protein will keep you from feeling hungry.

So the new semester starts today which means late nights of grading papers are on the horizon. Unfortunately for me, I am a late night snacker. I eat well all day and then BAM! I mess it up in the evening. I'd like to eventually get to the point where I don't snack at night, but for now it's more realistic to try to change what I eat.

What ideas do you have for healthy snacks? Baby carrots are one my favorites, but I need some new ideas!

She's doing much better, thanks! I, however, now have a bladder infection which has slowed me down. I wasn't able to get in the steps today, but I'm stretching while I watch TV. I really want to be more flexible. My goal is to be able to touch my toes.

I'm ok. I've got a sick toddler and I'm a bit under the weather myself so it's been a challenge. I'm staying fairly consistent with my step goal, but not great on staying on target with my calorie goal. I am rocking the water goal though!

My cold moved into my lungs, so my coughing comes hard when I try to do too much. I hate that every time I try to get into a workout routine, it seems I get sick.

My dogs are pretty suspicious about exercise as well. One jumps, barks, and grabs my arms with his teeth if I do anything resembling dancing. (I guess that's his way of letting me know I truly can't dance. And he's right.) The other doesn't care about that, but if I move around too fast he tries to stop me because he thinks we're playing "chase". Both are big boys and if they don't want me doing something, they can pretty easily stop me.

I'm hoping to get a work out in after my little one goes to bed. It's really snowing outside so I might to be able to get to the gym if the roads are bad.

My alternative option is to do a workout with the Kinect and XBox 360. Not a bad alternative, but not my preference. My dog seems to think that I want to play when I use the Kinect and he "attacks" me. He'll jump on me or try to shove his tug in my hand. If I lay down to do crunches or planks he tries to lick my face or wrestle. He is a very large dog so he's not easy to ignore when he's being playful like that.

STARDUSTD- I wish I enjoyed strength training more. I probably don't like it as much as you do because I don't build muscle quickly and it takes so long to see results. I'm a little envious that you can see a visible payoff so quickly!

Well, I did not make it to the gym today. I've been battling a cold that seems to have settled in my lungs. I didn't think working out would be a great plan since breathing is a bit of a chore. I'm hoping to get back at it tomorrow. I feel much better after resting today.
