Good morning. I'm new to the team but want to get right into posting to keep myself on track. I did very well with my eating yesterday but only about 10 mins of exercise. Must work on that today!

Have a healthy day, y'all!

Hi team, emoticon

Thanks for all the great advice about the water, I am going to make a big effort to get my water in from now on emoticon

The binge monster caught up with me yesterday, I had been fighting it for a few days and it finally won!. I decided to sit and track EVERYTHING I ate and it came to just under 3,500 calories!!!! I was really upset about this for a while and this led to me eating badly today as well, which I have also tracked but I am feeling a bit better now. I am glad I tracked it because it has really opened my eyes to the reason why I am this weight. I used to eat like this 6 out of 7 days, no wonder I have put on so much weight emoticon

I also realise that once I have binged it follows me into the next day becuase I wake up feeling so horrible that it makes me want to eat junk again emoticon

Hope everyone is having a good day emoticon

I didn't know all that info, makes sense though. I remember when I was in basic training the drill sergeants would have us drink water for EVERYTHING! If we were sick; had aches and pains; or tired; they would say drink water private! We would joke about telling them we had a broken arm and them telling us to drink water for it.

You drink water to hydrate your cells which are 70% water. Drinking water helps to cleanse all the toxins in your body and move all the yuck out. This helps you to flush out the stuff that makes you store fat it also makes you fuller so you don't want to eat as much. You should drink roughly 64oz everyday but people are all different. If you don't drink water normally you don't have to dive in and drink that much but make a goal to drink more every week until you are at that amount. I drink between 70 and 100 oz a day and it makes me feel great. I hope this helped.

No One Said It Would Be Easy.

Felt lazy most of the day; have not yet exercised but the day is not over! I got a little motivated being on Spark so I am going to do at least a little when I get off here!
Unlike you I did give into the binge monster a bit. I had a second bowl of cereal for b-fast. I have been doing well and only having one bowl at a time. I think I love cereal even more than chocolate; I normally get some of the more healthy cereals like multigrain cheerios; honey bunches; or shredded wheat; and I have begun using skim milk.

I always feel better when I drink a lot of water. I usually drink 9 glasses a day, which leaves less room for soda and such; I do make room for my green tea!
I have done good so far today; did an aerobic video by jessica smith on youtube that I read about on here, it was just about perfect 27 mins. got me sweating and the moves were fairly simlple to follow and didn't hurt my back at all.

250ml is 8oz or 1 glass. So you need to drink 4 bottles. That's what I do too

As for why I'm not exactly sure but what I can say for myself is that when I get off track and stop drink water I don't pee as much and i gain weight which I immediately lose when I start to drink it again.

Here's what I found for Sparkpeople's answer to that question: www.sparkpeople.com/community/ask_th

Hi team, I have a question for you. I am really bad at getting in my water and this is something I really want to start working on. I know that we are meant to drink 8 glasses of water a day but can anyone tell me how may litres that is? I bought a small bottle of water today which was 500mls. How many glasses it that? Also I have a big water bottle which is 2 litres. I am wondering if that is what I should be drinking a day??

Finally I am unsure as to the full reason behind the water drinking?

Any advice would be fantastic

Thanks everyone

Just try to remember if you do have to get take out or fast food, smaller healthier portions; sometimes I will get something for everybody else and find something at home for me.
I had a great start today; the kids had a 2 hour delay but I woke up at 530 and almost went back to bed but then told myself to get up and get on the elliptical cause the timing was great. My dad works days so he leaves at 6 and my mom works nights so she gets home about 730 and shortly there after goes to bed and I don't like to make a lot of noise. She has been gracious enough to let me and my 2 girls stay w/ her.
So I got 17 mins in emoticon and a few later did some stretching and floor exercises; and I have been drinking a lot of water. emoticon

I had a good first day back on the wagon but I was home all day and it was easy to cook and eat healthy. My kids keep me running like a crazy person and I need to resist the urge to drive thru/ order out. I have healthy meals planned for the week so now I just need to stick to it!

Tricia, good luck on your weigh in emoticon

Kaywhitaker, don't worry about falling off the wagon over christmas, it is so easily done, I completely abandon all thoughts of health over Christmas LOL!! It is great that you have got yourself back on track and are planning ahead. That is what makes the difference emoticon

I have my first weigh in tomorrow. I am really not sure what the scales are going to show. For the first two days I overate out of sheer stress of starting a diet, emoticon but I have managed to slowy get better and better day by day and did get a fair bit of exercise in. I am not going to beat myself up about the results if they are not good, I have to see this as a long journey and this is just the first step

Have a great day everyone emoticon

Hello everyone. I'm glad to see everyone is off to a good start. I am trying to get back into the swing of things after the holidays. I slacked off with food and exercise and ended up being a little depressed which led to more eating and less activity. I worked out three times last week and am going later this morning, so trying to move again. I plan on sitting down tonight to plan a few meals this week. I know this isn't a motivation forum, but I wanted to check in and get some inspiration from all of your posts. Its amazing to read a couple of sentences that put a little "spark" back in the journey and it encourages me to make better decisions.

One day at a time!

I have been trying a variety of videos and I prefer to complete them in the morning and I am hoping to see results, but either way I am beginning to form a new habit that takes a different turn every day to keep my body guessing. I may not see a lot of weight loss yet but I am not giving up! I can say it has been busy with 12 hour days for a while now and that is taking it's toll on my body.

Hey ladies!!

I hope you are all having a FABULOUS Week!!! Remember to take this Journey 1 Day at a Time!! Keep Pushing yourself even when the emoticon doesn't budge!! This weekend take time to reflect on what you want your mini-goals to be for the next week. It can be just 1 or 2 goals for yourself. Then really try to hold yourself accountable.

My goals this week was to track at least 5 days & I have tracked everydays since Sunday. I am trying to make tracking a habit by writing down what I ate or how I felt when I ate something. Next week, I think my goal will be to track 6 days & excercise 5 days.

Remember You are Beautiful & We WILL REACH OUR GOALS!!! emoticon

Hey ladies! How is everyone doing for the New Year? I see we have people who reached their goal weights, getting in their exercise and happy that the kiddos are back in school after this crazy weather that we seem to be getting all over the US!!

I have been doing well with my exercise. I went over my calories a few times last week, but I still managed to lose 2lbs. I also did my measurements today and will check them again next month. Planning on getting in a walk today with my puppy dogs. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend. :)

I hit a personal goal that I hadn't really articulated without realizing it. Several years ago my husband placed himself on the Bone Marrow Donor Registry. I went to do the same only to find out I'm too fat (they have a max weight for every height of the donor because they say that beyond that size the risk of the donation is too high to the donor). Last week, I was talking to a friend about the registry and happen to log onto the website. As I looked at the weight list I realized that I'm finally below the max weight for my height and can get tested to go on the registry.

I completed a 10 min. Jessica Smith video total workout and a Nicole video for day 1 for boot camp. I also walked 3 miles at work and over 12,000 steps today. I missed my nap today since I had to go to work, tutor after work, then complete videos for exercise. I was so excited though after a 10 hour day I came home synced my spark tracker which revealed I had over 10,000 steps in for the day which is my goal.

No school again today and another 2 hour delay tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. Either way I rocked it today. I am tracking my food, completed 4 Nicole videos which kicked my butt, walked 3.25 miles w/ Leslie, and got in my 10,000 steps. I also ran a few errands today, which it was nice to leave the house. I took time to play a game w/ my girls as well. I will plan on completing more exercise videos tomorrow first thing in the morning.

Let's see we started Christmas break on Dec. 20th and still have not returned b/c of getting 13 in. of snow and horrible road conditions. As of right now school is delayed by 2 hours tomorrow, I am so ready to head back to work. I have been shoveling and tracking that as exercise. I have continued to walk w/ Leslie b/c of the frigid temp. I have started measuring and tracking my food. I also got a Spark Tracker for Christmas and started using it the first day of the year. I upped my goal to 10,000 steps a day for the majority I can do this even if I march in place while watching TV. I am also completing Nicole videos b/c I need to change up my exercise, also utilizing my Malibu Pilates Chair. I gained 14 pounds last year and have already lost a couple of pounds. Feel free to check out my newest blog.

Right now I am trying to just get the exercise thing to be a habit. I feel like for me I need that consistency before I start worrying to much about diet. I am making little changes, but nothing that makes this feel diety. I want to finally be able to stop the roller coaster.

I know the feeling MamaChristy. I will be 34 this month and I have noticed that it is much tougher now to lose then it was when I was in my 20s. I am really focusing on counting calories now days. That helps a lot, along with exercise and getting in my water. Also, I focus more on inches and less on the scale. I mean I still weigh myself, but I know I tend to lose inches much quicker then I do pounds.

Happy New Year ladies!! Yes, it is definitely tough during the holidays to stay on top of things. But, now that they are over we can focus on what we are going to do today to stay on track.

I agree regarding with age it becomes harder to lose the weight. I will be 34 on the 26th and I have noticed that I have to work a bit harder to get the weight off. This time when I get it off I am for sure going to make sure I don't let myself go like this again! That's for sure.
