I'm just happy to announce that as of today I've lost a total of 30 lbs since I started "sparking" on Aug. 11th, 2010. Thanks to everyone for your words of encouragement and please continue to be a motivating force within my life.

I was up and down for the last couple of weeks. I had hit a wall and couldn't get past it but this week I was down 5 pounds and it's because I just would not give up. I refused to give in and give up on all the hard work I have done. So for anyone who is struggling just keep on keeping on and you will break down that wall. Refuse to let that wall stop you. I'm so happy with my weight loss so far and I'm 7 pounds from my next goal. I have a list of goals and I'm ticking them off one at a time :-) I keep telling myself I can do it because I know I can. I have no doubt in my mind that I can do it and you should keep telling yourself that you can do it too. It's all in the mind :-)

The only reason why I weigh in at all is so I can participate in the challenges. I was a personal trainer for years and I will say the scale can be your worst enemy if you are trying to loose weight the right way and keep it off. That is, with diet and exercise. I have a caliper that I use to measure the fat on my hip and use that as a judge of how I'm doing more than anything. I did not loose a thing this week according to the scale but my jeans are falling off me and I have lost an inch of fat from my hip. In just a week. The scale is good for keeping you accountable so you should weigh in but dont let it rule your emotions. Keep working at it. If your clothes fit differently your doing great.

Up 200g this week. Was a lot better than i expected, so still a happpy chappy. Did monthly measurements today as well and have lost 4 cm of my waist, 1cm off arms and 2 off hips and thighs. emoticon

Still 209 -- no loss. But it was a good wake-up call that I need to figure out a strategy for dealing with the food my mother cooks when we visit them! I worked hard in the gym, so I think it's likely I would have lost otherwise... but I'm not beating myself up over it. Just moving on and keeping it positive!

Worry is interest paid in advance on borrowed trouble.

Starting Weight - 246 lbs

Total Lost thus Far - 25.8 lbs

Things have been pretty stressful over the past two weeks and I slipped back into old (and very bad) eating habits. This week it showed on the scale with a gain of 0.4 lb. Time to get back in the groove.

My weigh in was Friday, and I was up the two that I had lost the week before- to be expected though, the 2 lost were when I was sick and not able to eat, and last week my body was constantly screaming for food to make up for it. I am back on track this week, so hope to see the scale moving down again this week. My weigh in this week was 225.

To the person that was asking about measurements- I love my tape measure. I have had several weeks when the scale didn't move, but the tape measure did. I do alot of ST and cardio too though, which builds muscle in place of the fat. If you want a visual of the size difference take a pond of lean meat (muscle) and compare it to a pound of Crisco (fat). You wil be surprised at the size difference.

Down .4 pounds. I did not eat well at all this past week. I'm amazed I lost anything at all. But I was pretty consistent with my exercise so that helped.

I'm at 215 but my pants still feel tight. Shoot, man, how tight were they 14.5 lbs ago, LOL?! I am fighting the urge to believe my weight loss is all in my head. I know I should take my measurements, but...........I don't wanna! Has anyone else struggled with using the scale as their measure of weight loss? Anyone else take measurements? Honestly, I'm afraid to see how many feet around I am!

down 3.8 after having a bad month. seems like every time I go to weigh in, i've stayed the same or was down a little even though I weigh myself mid-week and will be down more than that.
