I normally drink loose leaf tea without any sugar or milk. just the steeped tea leaves with no caffeine. I drink Egyptian Chamomile tea, but for hormone reasons I drink red raspberry leaf with red clover and nettle leaf daily at least three 16oz cups.

I could them as water since its pretty much in a way 'flavored' water without sugar or caffeine. At least in my book =) But to each their own!

Have you tried herbal tea? SO many delicious varieties, and no caffeine!

spark people suggests drinking tea to get water in if you have issues getting all your recommended water so i assume they count it as water. i count it. i usually drink tea i make myself and it has no caffiene so its a tasty way for me to get some extra water. coffee doesnt count as water. yes its brewed with water but it doesnt count. wish it did tho that would be awesome.

I second that! The more liquids, the better! I don't count anything but water, but the only other thing I drink is coffee. I keep my Nalgene with me and try to drink two of them before work is over, then have 2 glasses or more with dinner. It works for me!

I count those after I reach my 8 cups of water, I say the more water you drink in addition to other things, the better.

Yeah, I don't drink only tea. Maybe a cup or two a day if even that. And honestly about the coffee, I don't know. Maybe if it was decaf since caffeine can cause dehydration like you said. But that is a good question. I'm not sure!

I think that's a personal choice! I mean, if that's ALL you drink... probably not; the dehydration effect that caffeine has won't completely negate the water by any means, but it's a good idea to have pure water as well....

I drink coffee with a bit of milk and sugar substitute... Would you count that? (Seriously, because that would be awesome! haha)

I count it because it has water in it. But, I typically don't count things like juice, milk, or soda because they are caloric.

So, if I have home brewed tea with a sugar substitute, does that count towards my water?
