I wish I had that problem and can't wait to be battling those last 5 lbs! But SparkPeople isn't just about the numbers on the scale. I love to see people on here with fitness minutes trackers or who are on here for cleaner eating purposes. Some thin/healthy BMI people have other health-related goals and can benefit from nutrition and fitness trackers as well as a community of encouraging and supportive people.

The only thing that annoys me is when really skinny girls gripe about being fat. I think if I was at my goal weight and then went up four pounds, I would try my hardest to get it to go back down. I am so scared of gaining back the weight I lose! As far as seeing the tickers with really small numbers, it doesn't bother me. I just think maybe they already lost 50 lbs...who knows. I think we all need to support each other, no matter what.

I can understand why that would bother you. And in fact, it pisses me off on some degree, but I have to step back and think. They are trying to better themselves and if they are on SP, then they need motivation just like we do. They don't trust themselves or just can't lose the weight by themselves, they are just like us but with just less to lose.

Venting is a great way to release some steam and its okay to speak your mind. We should feel comfortable around each other.

Ok I totally know what your saying but again you mentioned
We are all here to support each other not to harp on one another
I have a LOT of weight to lose but I don't necessarily begrudge a friend
Who only has 2 or 5 pounds to lose we cant start thinking that way
Or we will lose what makes this site so great so instead of being annoyed lets
celebrte our smaller friends successes and look forward to those days
When we can be the ones who are losing the last 5
We don't know everyone's story and though they might not have a
Large amt of weight people face many other struggles lets keep positive
and keep being the awesome cheerleaders and support structure we are

I don't know why anyone would have a ticker for four pounds. That seems a little odd to me. Ten pounds I get though. The closer you are to your goal weight the tougher it tends to be to lose those pesky few pounds - especially if you've been trying for a while.

I of course have a lot more to lose than that, and I can't wait to have that problem.

We all need a meltdown once in a while! And if venting on here keeps you from "eating" your emotions I think that it is a great thing. You shouldn't be ashamed of your feelings. They are what they are. At least you are strong enough to admit it and vent instead of letting it build up inside you. Good for you! Speak your mind! And know that I struggle with the SAME feelings. I can't remember the last time I was a normal weight and these people who have 2, 4, 10 lbs to lose don't know the struggles the morbidly obese face. Thanks for being brave enough to share with us! emoticon

It's not that I don't sympathize with anyone that has to lose weight or just find a healthier lifestyle. We all have struggles. And losing when there isn't much to lose is harder than when you're heavier. But sometimes it hurts a little. Those are people that have never faced true struggle with something this big. And have never been truly faced with health issues and scary things. I mean yes I know I am the one that got myself into this mess, and its no ones fault but my own. And I'm not even beginning to begrudge anyone trying to find a healthier life just like me. And normally I am supportive and encouraging and everyone's cheerleader whether they have 2 lbs, 200 or just maintaining. But some days I feel the crushing 'weight' of such a big journey and think "two freaking pounds???? You've got to be kidding me! You're griping about 2 measly pounds when you could drop that if you skipped one dinner and bar hop with friends? And some of us have real problems and struggles to face on here???? Ughhhhhh!" Sorry guys some days it gets to me. And no I would never EVER say that to anyone ever because I do get it. But somedays it can just hurt. Sorry for the negativity and melt down.

YES! I get very annoyed! I wonder if any of these people have ever been close to being as overweight as I am. Its one thing if they started at an obese weight and have only 4lbs left to lose, but if they are on here just to lose 4lbs?! It does get annoying. I wish them the best of luck, but I can't help being bothered by it.

I don't know that I'm annoyed ever, but I'm usually envious. I wish I had only four pounds to worry about. Or that I even noticed when I gained four pounds.

Ok is it just me or do you ever feel a little tinge of annoyance at people (especially on here) that gripe about having to lose 4 pounds? I know were all here to support each other and encourage and I am. I know we each have our own battles to fight. But some days I just can't help it. Its flippin annoying! 4 pounds really?? And having a ticker for four pounds! Ill trade with you anyday!
