I got very, very lucky to stay at a time share in Kauai for three weeks in January. Thanks to my mother. I saw birds I will never see again and the time share was really nice too!
Here is a picture of the lighthouse we hung out at quite a bit.

It has been years -- I'm thinking it was a locally owned establishment when we went on a Big Bend tour with DH's dad when the boys were early teens -- that's been over 10 years ago. The places we stayed with FIL were all top of the line....

We stayed at a Radisson the night before our last cruise. It was very nice.

The last hotel I stayed in was an Extended Stay America in New Jersey. My boyfriend had a long term consulting job so we lived there about four or five months. It was pretty uncomfortable. We had to change rooms all the time because something was always breaking down. They were always short on towels. We had several items stolen. I could go on and on! At least now I know that I'm too old for cheap hotels -- I've raised my standards to require nothing but 4 or 5 stars.

The last time I stayed at a motel was in 2007, coming home to MD after living in FL for almost a year. I stayed one night at the South Of The Border Motel and boy was it a dump. It looked clean at night (although worn out) but in the morning light it looked atrocious. I couldn't get out of there fast enough, and the first thing I did when I got home to MD, before even unpacking the car, was to go in the house and take a shower!

It was a pretty good one, in Eilat (southern Israel). 5 star, good service, rich meals... We had to choose a nicer place because we're not very mobile with a toddler, so we spent most of the time there, at the hotel pool... emoticon emoticon emoticon

What was the last hotel (or motel) that you stayed at like?
