Let me know when and where the CPR training is and if I can I'll go (mine just expired in Oct). I'd love to volunteer on occasion, as long as I don't have to commit to a regular schedule.

I am going to email you at work about the lap quilt idea. Right now between working and the usual May rush of weddings, graduations, and family visits, that sounds like the easiest route for me.

Hello, my friends!

I am settling into my new position as Volunteer Coordinator at SouthernCare Hospice (read my latest blog for more details!), and was wondering if anyone on the Madison SparkTeam was interested in volunteering?!

To work directly with a patient, you will have to meet with me, fill out some paperwork, and get CPR certified. We have someone coming in to do certifications (for free) the first week of June. If that doesn't work for you, we could figure out another time. We also have activities like crafting for the patients, calling BINGO and raffles, etc.

If you are a crafter who doesn't have a lot of time to spend with patients, you can also donate something like a lap blanket or a hat or slippers, or any other crafty item that you'd like a patient to have. That is something that would be much appreciated, and won't require any volunteer training.

I'm really loving it so far - everyone here is great and really cares about each and every patient. It's a truly rewarding experience. :)

You can reply to this post or send me a sparkmail message if that's what you prefer, but it might be easiest for me if you email me at work or call me on my work phone:

Hope you're enjoying the beautiful weather!
