our students were required to have a foreign language for all 4 years, so they didn't get much of any other electives. They had to fight to get art! pretty much they had to get parents involved. It really was sad

I had band students in my art classes. They had more than one elective choice, particularly as they got into 11th and 12th grade.

How inventive to challenge the students in that way. I wish I took art in school. You could only choose band or art or sports or theater. I think students should be able to take all of them.

Barnes and Nobel. They have the best stuff there.

I had one of these that I used in my art classroom! Their assignment was to select an image (not a sculpture) and then select either the colors or the style of that artist and create their own image. My portrait that I use for my avatar is a result of that challenge. I can't remember the artist I used, but I used his colors and a little of his style too.
Where did you buy it from? do you remember? I still have many of the images from mine, but over the years the kids in the classroom lost or took their images. I may never use it again, but your photo brought back some memories!

My son received an Art Calendar from me. It is one picture a day. I finally discovered it in his room. They are very large pictures. I placed my hand next to it to show how large. It is made of beautiful glossy strong paper. He forgot to take it with him to his apartment. His room was a mess until he left for college this past Tuesday. I discovered it today while cleaning dusting his room. I could finally clean when everyone leaves.
