When I go to Woodward Park I love it every time... it's just sometimes a bit too far of a drive for my mom and I, especially when $ is tight. We're trying to find a place a bit closer to us that we could go walk around at and maybe take my son's bike with us and let him ride his bike.

Don't be afraid of coffee. For every study that says its bad, 5 others say its good. The caffeine in coffee has been shown to boost your metabolism. Besides, its not so much the coffee, but what people add to coffee. Its like chips and salsa-salsa is loaded with great stuff in it! But the corn chip and the salt added is what makes the combo an instant junk food.

A cup (8oz) or two of coffee in the morning (WITH BREAKFAST, NOT INSTEAD OF!) could be just what you need to get your day started off right.

Dear Coffee drinkers:
If you add sugar and creamer, first ditch the sugar completely. No fake stuff, no real stuff.

A few weeks later, sub the cream for low fat or non fat milk.

A few weeks after that, buy your favorite coffee, then combine it with the same stuff, just decaffeinated.

As you ween yourself off of the caffeine, you can still enjoy the antioxidants of the coffee bean without the possible negative effects of caffeine.

Note: Coffee can make your bones week, so be sure you are drinking lits of water and working out regularly.

Thanks for that tip! I love oatmeal, but am not keen on many fruits, lol. When we have em, I will usually put raisins in my oatmeal. But I had never thought of putting it in a coffee mug. Coffee is 1 thing I'm trying to back off on, I don't drink it all day long every day, but I do usually have 1-2 cups, usually it's only 1 a day, but every now and again I have 2.

Tip: Oatmeal is a great source of fiber. Add in some bluberries, and you should be held over for an hour or two. Throw it in a big coffee mug, stick it in the microwave during your first visit t the kitchen, and take it with you.

Note: Studies have shown that eating meat or another type of protein at breakfast will curbs your appetite for the rest of the day, especially that late afternoon craving. Snack during the day on nuts and veggies and you will find yourself never starving.

Thanks for posting this here! Great motivation!

This is the one I will work on this week!
-I will not skip breakfast. I will eat a good meal to start me off right for the day.

Sometimes it is hard for me to get this in. I stay home yes, and am not too terribly busy, but at times I ignore it I guess. Then by the time I'm really feeling HUNGRY it's noon already. So I will do better this week!

Name one thing you will do this week to get closer to your goal. Remember, what you are doing is a process. In a process, literally "a systematic series of actions directed to some end." Though there is a joke in that last statement, in all seriousness your life continues the way it is because of habits, good or bad, you continue to harness.

So, what habit will you curb or expand upon this week. Here are some examples:

-I will bring my lunch to work everyday this week. (That might mean prep the night before)

-I will bring my water bottle to work and drink it fully, twice- once before lunch, once before I leave.

-I will not skip breakfast. I will eat a good meal to start me off right for the day.

-I will bring fruits and veggies to the conference room when it is my turn to bring food and just smile when people complain that I am not enabling them to expand their waist size.

-I will meet a friend for coffee and bring two travelers mugs so we can walk and chat at the same time.

There are many things you can do, so pick one. If you try and do too much at once, you'll get overwhelmed and frustrated, then maybe even quit. Then, the cycle will start over in a few months. START NOW!
