I've heard the GOYAAM group is good motivation for getting your move on.

Welcome! Eating right will get you part of the way there, but you will have to find an exercise that you can enjoy to make it all the way to your goal. It just doesn't work with one or the other. It has to be both working together nutrition/exercise as a team.
You are right, this is a great team. Look forward to getting to know you.

Welcome!

My biggest tip is find something you enjoy or at least find a way to enjoy the exercise.

Things that are exercise that people often enjoy: dancing, team sports, taking a walk, taking a bike ride, ice skating, kayaking or other similar stuff.

Ways to enjoy other wise "boring" exercise:
Exercise buddy to keep you company & encourage you, set goals for yourself to work towards (C25K or the 100 push up challenge are examples), try something new & vary your work out, make a game out of it (challenge yourself to do more than last time). Etc.

I too had problems getting started with exercise at first. I decided that was fine, I just focused on nutrition at first. Then I started adding stuff in..first with my Wii Fit, then going on walks, and slowly building up intensity from there. Now I'm generally much more motivated for exercise.

Hello ladies :)

First I just want to say, WOW. This team is SOOOOO supportive!! I just joined yesterday, my inbox was flooded with welcoming e-mail, I've got comments on my spark page, and gosh darnnit I just feel so HAPPY. Thank you to the members that wrote me, and passed along encouragement, I think this is the team for me!

Now, onto the more practical stuff. My name is Jamie, and I am 32 (almost 33) years old. I would like to go on record right now and say I am so DONE with being the fat girl. I am so very happy I've found a group who shares that notion. I started this particular journey about a month ago, and so far have lost 14lbs. Tomorrow is weigh in day for me, and I fully expect to change that number soon! :D

I think for me, the eating right works out a little easier than the exercising. I have a hard time getting myself in 'the zone' for exercising. I tend to talk myself out of wanting to move more. I am and have always been the type to chill on the couch or from the sidelines when people were doing active things. I am trying to change that, but I don't always succeed. Any and all tips for getting my move on are much appreciated.

I think that's all for now, once more, thank you so much for your welcomes and encouragements. *group hugs*

-Jamie
