Prayer will be appreciated on Monday afternoon Girls. We have a vet appointment at 4 PM to put our 17 year old foster pup down. So sad - she has kidney failure and is getting worse every day/ She has been with us for 4 and a half years and has been such a blessing to me- providing physical comfort and emotional suport during all the stuff we've been through the past 4 years - the angina and my broken leg especially. God knew I would need a Therapy Dog, and he provided one!

Bonnie, I have been praying for Cammie and will continue to pray that there will be positive results from her tests. It's great that she had Aaron to help her all day!
Wow your barium tests sound yukky! well done for getting through them. I'm glad they are being thorough about checking your swallowing problems. Will keep praying for you both!
Hope all goes well for your musical weekend!

Cammie had her full body bone scan on Monday. No results back yet. She had a friend with her all day thank the Lord. He took her to lunch while they waited for the shot of isotope dye to circulate through her body and then afterward he helped her with the girls. Aaron is a nurse at one of the PA VA hospitals so he's a good guy to have around.

I had my swallowing tests yesterday. Been having trouble swallowing and found a small lump on my neck right near the collarbone, but doctor doesn't think it's the thyroid. He thought it might be a fatty tissue cyst. But something is causing me to have trouble swallowing so had to have it checked out. Those tests are fun/ hilarious if you've never had them done. Had to swallow different types of food with powdered barium in them while they took exrays of the swallowing process. Then had to drink a cup of barium in water while they exrayed the entire esophagus to check for reflux I guess. That one was totally yuck! Then had an ultrasound of the thyroid area. Will get the reslts back in a few days I guess. Will let you all know. But as of right now, at least I can say I survived. Ha-ha!

Please pray for Cammie, my youngest daughter. She's 36 and having way too many physical issues. Tonight she called me in tears because she got the results of several exrays today. They found a spot on one of her ribs and so they compared it to an exray from a year ago only to find that the spot had grown. They are ordering a 3-D bone scan to see if they can find out what it is. She also found out that she has pre osteoporosis in her knees and shoulders as well as arthritis in all her joints including her ankles. They also exrayed her feet and found that she has calcium deposits on the tendons in her feet which is why she is in so much pain after being on her feet all day at work. All this on top of her fibromyalgia. She is in a lot of pain. Cammie is a single mom so her day doesn't end when she gets home from work - she still has the 2 little girls to take care of. Thanks for praying. I just hurt so much for her.

Bonnie, will keep Cammie in my prayers. Hope she is starting to feel better. I'm glad her sister was able to swoop in and take charge. Praying for you too because it must be SOOO frustrating! But I'm sure it will be a bonding experience for the 2 sisters to deal with this kind of situation together, as well as for the cousins.

Suzy, glad to hear you are spending time with your grandson and helping your DIL with the cooking! LOL at her mother having been there 3 weeks and not done any cooking for them. When my 1st son was born, my sister came over "to help" but in the end I felt more stressed than if she had not come over! No help with any cooking, she sat around waiting until it was meal time, sat and cuddled the baby while I tried to sort things out... She did help with sterilizing the feed bottles (because I had just had to give up breast-feeding) but it was a LONG way from what I had imagined!

I am getting my first 3 days with the grandbaby. I came down to their house which is about 1 hr 20 mins from our house, on Sunday night. Damian even stayed awake for me then off to LaLa Land quickly. I am spending time getting some meals cooked up and frozen for the kids. This will help. Thought her mother was doing this while she was here for three weeks but .......
They do not want to see spaghetti for a long long time I understand. So yesterday I pressure cooked stewing beef, made lots of broth for vegetable soup and have it frozen, two batches of stewing beef and broth for beef and noodles, 6 bags of homemade noodles frozen. My daughter in law is watching me do this so she can learn some of those recipes that my son so much loves. Today I will do one stewing chicken, lots of strombolis for the freezer, and chili two ways (she doesn't eat beans and he does). Tomorrow I am teaching the famous family pink cookie recipe and caramels. I go home thursday.

I have been working on my needlepoint card boxes to for Christmas and editing the family cookbook. I hope to have it ready to print next week. When that is done I will be thrilled. Rather than spiral binding my DH wants me to do a loose leaf binder so it can be added to throughout the generations to come.

I hope the tests are conclusive for your daughter and that they can start a treatment therapy that will indeed help and bring her to full strength again.

Be a good steward. I need to take care of all that God has given me.

Thanks Suzy! They did x-rays and found a lot of inflammation, more that there would be for an arthritis flare up so they suspect she has an auto immune disorder. They sent her home with some heavy duty anti inflammatory meds and she is to see her doctor who will order more tests to find out which one she has and she will have to see a rheumatologist. They told her there were over 40 different ones. Apparently it takes a few days to get the results back so they didn't do the tests there yesterday.

I'm hoping she feels better soon. Her sister is keeping the girls at least for todayand we have the furry grandkids for a few days.I feel so bad that I can't keep the girls for her though, but I still can't get around without the walker so babysitting is not an option.

It's me again with a prayer need. My youngest daughter is a single mom. She texted me at 5 a.m. this morning to say that she was in so much pain with her knee and shoulder that she couldn't move without excruciating pain. I couldn't just jump in my car and go there because of my leg, but I was able to pray for her. We got ahold of her sister who lives about 45 minutes away. Allissa came and helped Cammie to get the girls ready , then she took all of them to her house, dropping off Cammie's two little girls and taking Cammie to the ER.

They think she has some sort of immune system infalmation so they gave her a large dose of anti inflammatory med intravenously and sent her home. I think she's staying with her sister tonight and will go home tomorrow.

Please pray for her - because she's a single mom, she doesn't have a very good support network where she lives - very few friends and none really that she can call on in an emergency. She works so hard to provide for her girls, so hard she has really worn herself to a frazzle over the last year since her fiancé cheated on her and broke things off. Everytime I go to her house, I weep because it is like a slum. She tries so hard and just can't keep up with everything. Sorry - i'm sad and frustrated again, especially since I really can't help her right now..

Thanks!

Suzy, I am praying for those things as well and also praying for safety from the Zika virus for the athletes, coaches and spectators.

Larousse, the doctor pretty much told me what he had told me before. The leg is not healing. The cracks between the shards of bone are not filling in. The next step is a bone graft -I'll see another doctor who does the grafts on August 18, then I'll know more about what will happen. Until then I am staying off my feet, in my wheelchair, and not putting much weight on my leg. I'm still using the bone stimulator and am praying that it will help my leg to begin to grow the bone it needs.

Please pray for my youngest daughter Cammie. Two weeks ago she broke two fingers on her left hand when the dog's leash tangled around it and he tried to take off after a cat. Last week, her other hand was sprained at work - they think she was over compensating because og her broken hand. Then today her knee flared up with bursitis and she can't walk.

Cammie is a single mom with 2 little ones that depend on her and she has to work to make ends meet. Her sister is watching Gabby and Gracie for her for a few days and I have the dogs - it's easier for me to put the dogs outside when they need to go than it is to chase after a 3 year old!

Please pray that she gets better soon. Thanks! Oh and for me too - my doctor's appointment is Monday at 2 pm. Thanks I could use some good news!

You will do great Claire! I took a course in pastoral counseling many years ago. I wanted to help other pastor's wives that I met because I saw so much hurt in their lives as they shared with me. But when I started to take the course, I realized the Lord led me there so that I could heal from the pain in my own life. As I applied the truths I learned to my own life, I came to understand them firsthand. I was healing inside and that healing has helped me to know how use the things I learned to minister to others.

When you understand how this information has changed you, it will help you to remember, use and teach others. Life experience is a powerful teacher. You will know what you need, when you need it because the Holy Spirit will bring it to your memory.

Father, as Claire attends this practicum next week, help her to be confident in you - that you will enhance her knowledge and give her insights so she knows exactly what information is important in each situation. Bring things to her memory as she needs them and give her just the right words as she works on ministering to people the truths she has learned. Give her a safe trip and a blessed experience! Amen.

As to Lyn and Bea--Lyn brought Bea to church this past Sunday. Lyn looks great; she has a port and a bag with a chemo that is being administered continually...or maybe it's radiation? No, chemo makes more sense. Anyway, she looks good.

I would like prayer for the practicum I'm going to next week. I'm as prepared as I'm going to be. I've read everything...as to whether I'm retaining it all, I don't know! But I do know that as I learn how to lead people through the Steps to Freedom in Christ, it's not my knowledge that makes the difference; it's the Lord. He's the One who does the work.

Oh Larousse, how funny that we are the same age. I thought the 77 on your name was the year of your birth!

Thank you for praying. Bea is an amazing lady. So, so sweet. The kind of person everyone likes, who only knows how to encourage and never, ever puts anyone down or gossips. Just a lovely lady.

Update on Lyn and Bea: Not too much to report. Lyn's spirits are good. Bea is very concerned, of course, but is relying on the Lord and is very grateful for prayers. Bea is about 90 some years old--you'd never guess it to see her--and cared for her husband who had Alzheimers and related health issues for the past 5 years. He just died in December.

Claire, I'm praying for Bea and Lynn.

Father give Lynn the words to tell her mother about the diagnosis and strengthen Bea to hear it. Pour out your special blessings on this mother and daughter as they worship together on Easter Sunday and give them both the comfort and peace they need during this time. Be with Lynn as she begins chemotherapy next week and touch her body for you are Jehovah Rapha - our God that heals. Amen!

OK, so here's the story to go with my wall post. There is a dear, dear lady at our church, Bea, whose daughter has stomach cancer that is now also in her liver and is aggressive. The daughter, Lyn, is in her 60's, I think, though she doesn't look it. She looks younger than my 53 years. Anyway, her mother is about 94 years old and while her health isn't too bad, she's very frail and has fallen a lot lately. Lyn sent Fritz an email today telling him about her appointment with the oncologist and that she's going to bring her mother to Easter services on Sunday, Lyn will begin chemo next week.

Lyn's main prayer request was for how to tell her mom. Lyn and Bea are very close (Lyn never married) and it will be hard. So, pray for that, and for Lyn!

Praying for the people of Belgium today.

I have heard a few reports coming our of Brussels. We have missionary friends there in Brussels at the Continental Theological Seminary. They were on their way to the airport to drop off their youngest son and his fiancé when the bombs went off. Apparently they were running about 10 minutes late and arrived at the airport just after the bombing! God is so good. The husband is a lifelong friend of my husband - they grew up together here in the church we now pastor! We are praising God for their safety and praying for the victims of the bombing as well.

Claire, I'm praying for Victoria! Such a sad and difficult situation for a young child.

Father God, draw Victoria to you. Become her Big Brother, Her Father, her comforter and her strong arm to lean on through all of this . I pray that there will be some strong Christian influences in her life as she works through all her bitterness, grief and anger due to this loss as well as the loss of her childhood to the ravages of addiction in her family. Amen!

Praying for Cammie, Bonnie!

Also, I'm asking for prayer for the family of a man in our community who died today. His name was Vic; he was probably in his 40's. He had been a teacher in a local high school, but after an accident became addicted to pain killers which led to addiction to heroin. He was recovering and had been involved in an organization in Dayton called "Families of Addicts." I don't know if drugs were involved in his death, but God knows the needs. I am especially concerned for his niece, Victoria. He was very close to her--I suspect she was named after him. She's in the 6th grade, I think. She's had to take on responsibilities very early in her life because her mother, too, is addicted to heroin, and is currently serving a sentence in prison. With the death of her Uncle Vic, it will be very hard for her.

Prayers needed for my youngest daughter Cammie who is 7 1/2 months pregnant. She saw her doctor this morning and he thinks she is anemic. He is also worried about her weight loss - too much too quickly which could affect the baby. She had a high risk pregnancy with Gabby and this one is also high risk. With all the stress and drama of her relationship with her fiancé, she is having a really difficult time.
Thanks!

My daughter-in-law sent the following reply yesterday. Praise the Lord!

Thank you, Larousse, for your prayer for all the refugees. You are closer to this situation than any of us here in the U.S. at this time.

Hallo ihr Lieben,

Good news! Thanks a lot for your prayers. Mustapha decided to stay for another year and cancelled the application to go back. He said he would give it another year.
We invited him for dinner tonight and had a wonderful time together. Keep praying for him and for the whole refugee situation.

We will tell you the whole story next time we call.

With lots of love,
Sara & Wes

I just got this prayer request from my daughter-in-law. It was sent from Germany yesterday, but God knows no time limit.

Hello to our wonderful family,

Please pray for a young man tomorrow (a student of mine). He is from Syria and got so frustrated with the German bureaucracy mess and arbitrary chaos that he has handed in the paper work to go back to Syria (to Aleppo).
Now that others and I have talked to him, he says he would give it another year in Germany and try, try, try again.

He is the kind of person who is helping the others around (because he speaks good English and cares) and who can't take it anymore that he has to fight his way to the refugee office knowing that when he gets through it is at the expense of others (who will then need to come back, wait 12 hours, and come back again). The stories I hear are really bad...

Anyways, tomorrow is a very important day because he has to go and tell them (and cancel the application to go back). Yet, everything can happen at this office and I don't know what and how firm he will be.

So please pray that God will protect him and not let anybody crush him and God's plan for his life. I know that God sent me today so that I could talk to him and encourage him.

Thanks for your love and prayers. We will keep you updated!

A big hug,
Sara & Wes

Carolyn, my mom grew up in a Mennonite home so she did a lot of acapella singing. She never talked much about it and she changed denominations when she married my dad so I never heard any of those songs. But she and my dad sang hymns in the nursing homes later in their lives. They would go to a different one every Sunday afternoon. He played the guitar and she played the auto harp. Music is so precious, no matter how it is sung and the old hymns have so much meaning. I am glad to see Christian artists reviving them.

I hope you're doing well and your mom also. Still praying!

Psalm 91 is a beautiful Psalm. I love that one too Larousse.

How are you both doing, Carolyn? Hope you manage to get enough rest if your mom is having trouble at night.
I love Ps 91 too, I know quite a few songs in English and French that are based on the words of that psalm. I expect it's very comforting to sing it to a liturgical tune that goes back generations! Even though I grew up in a Baptist church, when I was at school, I was in the choir and we quite often did church music from the Anglican tradition, so I learned to appreciate that sort of music and it often comes back to me.
Keeping you both in prayer that the "pestilence" will stay away! A friend of mine had shingles recently and it was painful and exhausting! :-/

Many thanks, ladies!!!

Larousse, Psalm 91 is a particular favorite of mine, but I'm more accustomed to the metrical (sung) version of it! You see, our small denomination used to sing only the Psalms. We now sing hymns as well as the Psalms, but I dearly love the old Psalm singing. The melodies are quite different from most hymns, but once you get accustomed to them they become very dear. I grew up hearing my father sing them, and he grew up hearing his father and grandfather singing them, and so on back for a total of 8 generations.

Blessings,
Carolyn

Oh Carolyn will keep you and your mum in my prayers.
Lord I bring Carolyn and her mum before you, and ask for your protection on their health. You know the dangers for them both of shingles and chicken pox, and I pray that you will keep those diseases away. Lord I claim the words of Psalm 91 for Carolyn's household:
Ps 91
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
....
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

Take care! Larousse xx

New Prayer Request!!!

The Dr. thinks Mom may have shingles. (ArgghhHHH!!!) As a precaution for MY health, the dr. started Mom on the anti-viral med used for shingles.

The big danger for me is that I've never had chicken pox and if Mom has shingles, I will almost certainly get the pox. :-( With all my other health issues, it would be fatal for me. Please pray that Mom doesn't have it (or, if she does, that I don't get it!)

Will keep your situation in prayer, Larousse. I can certainly understand your husband requesting a church vote. Being pastor is tough enough ... you need to know that a very sizeable majority is supporting you if the church is to function as it should. Hang in there!! God is in control and His ways can be awfully mysterious, but it all comes out right in the long run.

Blessings,
Carolyn

God is so good! I am thankful for your good report Larousse. and will continue praying for the Lord to supply your needs and to keep you in his loving arms through these trying days.

Father, continue to supply the needs for Larousse and her husband. Provide both financial and emotional support in wonderful and unexpected ways as they wait on you and on the congregation to vote. Give them a favorable vote on his appointment and help the days to pass swiftly until he is able to be back at the work you have called him to. Amen!

Update: my husband has had another meeting with the elders and the current pastor, they have smoothed out their differences and all seems to be back on track :)
However my husband has requested a church vote on his appointment, which would mean he might not start until October 1st! :-/ (they have to wait till after vacations to call the meeting, and then give 3 weeks' notice)
Praise the Lord that our only financial supporter sent us some funds in July which is tiding us over this tough period.
Phew! Thanks for your support here, it's very precious.

Beautiful and encouraging song Claire!
I'm so glad the Lord is strengthening and comforting you Larousse. When you are in the middle of such discouraging and uncertain circumstances, it really does help to know you aren't alone. Whether you need to ramble, rant or just vent, this is a good place to do it. We've all needed a shoulder at one time or another.

Just to let you know - I may not be online much in the next couple of days. because I'm babysitting our 2 year old granddaughter this weekend and then we're traveling to our trailer for a few days so we can visit our son. (There is very limited internet service there). But you will be in my heart and prayers

Thanks girls! we are feeling more at peace in the situation, although have had no replies from anyone that my husband sent the email to. Probably there are emails zinging around between the elders group wondering what to do. Or maybe not, because they don't seem to be a very pro-active group, and now the school vacations have started in France!
We checked the church's official bye-laws and it turns out that members of the Council can require a pastor to be fired, if that person no longer shares the views of the church. So if the pastor persists in refusing to acknowlege my husband as lead pastor, that would fit.
So we think it will all pan out ok in the end, but maybe later than September.
We think Ps 40 is confirmation that God knows there will be people who say Ah, ah! (v16)
I'm due to travel to the UK next Sunday with my sons, leaving my husband here, and will be back in early August.
Thanks for the Proverbs reference Claire! will try to meditate on that when I feel the stress butterflies starting in my tummy!

PS just found that song, thanks, it's lovely! hadn't heard it before. xx

Oh, Larousse! I am praying with you as well, and saying "Amen" to Bonnie's prayer. We know that God is absolutely in control, and He demonstrated this by giving you Psalm 40 as a confirmation. I will be praying that particular Psalm for you as the days progress.

I wish I had advice to give you, but I think that Bonnie, even though she didn't think she had advice, did have some for you. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight (or He will direct your path.)" Proverbs 3:5-6.

This is an opportunity for God to show His glory! When you have nothing else, it's an opportunity to rely only on Jesus. I'm thinking of the song "Give Me Jesus." Here's a link to the song on youtube, though I don't know if you can access it in France. (My son lives in Germany and sometimes he can't access certain videos on youtube due to international restrictions.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFJGsBAp
Iuk

As I said before, I will continue to pray for you. Thank you for posting on the wall about your prayer request.

In Jesus,
Claire

Hi Larousse, I'm so sorry I didn't see this before. Apparently I didn't get a notification because I never posted on this thread before. emoticon But I am praying now.

Father God, be with Larousse today. We thank you that you have given her and her husband such a powerful confirmation in Psalm 40. As Larousse, reads and rereads that scripture, help the truths of it to seep into her heart and bring her a deep abiding peace. Let her know that you have brought them out of the mire, that you have placed their feet on a rock and that you will indeed use this situation to prove yourself so that many will turn to you!.

Help them as her husband feels strongly that they should be in this place but he doesn't want to cause upheaval. May this young pastor be put to shame and confusion for coming against your will in this situation and keep your mighty had of protection on Larousse and her husband. Strengthen their hearts and give them courage to stand strong for you. Amen.

Larousse, I have no advice for you - but have been in similar tough situations many times. in our 40 years in ministry. I have been afraid for our finances many times - but each time the Lord has met our needs. He has been strengthening my trust muscles through the years. I wish I could say that I am not afraid now when things happen. I still have to work hard to keep my eyes on the Lord instead of the situation so that I am not overwhelmed by my fears.

Each situation is different, but ALWAYS God is in control, even when men seek to wreak havoc. God will have the last word! I will keep praying for you. Please let us know what happens so we can continue to pray with you.

And if you need to vent or cry on someone's shoulder, you are welcome to do it here and we will pray!

Hi everyone, please see below for background to this. Well my hubby went ahead with the meetings and the elders are all set for him to start on sept 1st. Great! BUT TODAY, he met with the current part-time pastor who already works there. This guy does just over half time and was trainee pastor until March this year, then they voted to remove "trainee" from his title, so he is a pastor but not Lead Pastor. My hubby is due to start as Lead Pastor since he will be full time and he's 20 yrs older than this other guy.
This pastor told my hubby in no uncertain terms that he is going to rebel against everything hubby asks him to do, and he has heard some rumors about my hubby (which are not true) but he apparently has chosen to beleive them. He is obviously upset because my husband's role will include supervising the work of the other pastor.
My husband has consulted one of the elders (a long time friend) and has sent an email to the other elders withdrawing his candidacy, since he believes it will be impossible to work together. Who knows how this will pan out now?! Under French law they cannot just sack the other guy without a clear reason and without several official warnings. My hubby is fed up with all the tractactions but still believes it's God's will for him to be there. We received Ps 40 on sunday as a confirmation!
In the meantime our financial situation is still dire, and I'm going to have to empty our savings account this weekend to keep the current account afloat. I was hoping he would start in July, but we could just manage until Sept if the bank would extend our overdraft.
If anyone has any advice i would be grateful, and prayers too please.
Thanks
Larousse

Hi all, sorry if this thread started out on a different topic, but
we really need some prayer just now. My hubby still does not have confirmation of the new pastor position. There are some points he's not in agreement with, to me they seem minor but for him they seem to be dealbreakers. In the meantime we are overdrawn at the bank to an amount that's half my monthly salary, which means that we will have about zero money to get thru July! We have some savings that will cover some of it but not all. I'm starting to mentally check thru friends & family who could lend us some money to get thru July. The boys & I will be going to England for 3 wks, it's not very expensive as a vacation so there's no point cancelling. We will just have to limit the ice creams and trips out!
I think hubby should just say yes to the pastor job despite his doubts, as it's a trial period of 1 year. He's certain there are things he could not put up with (they have a daughter church run by a guy who hubby distrusts deeply), I can't get past the "ker-ching" aspect of the euros we need arriving in our account each month! I reckon he could see how it goes for a school year and then if he's not happy, give it up.
Hubby does not seem to feel at all bothered about our financial situation, it's always been me who deals with the finances and he's amazingly optimistic about money despite us having lived 21 yrs of married life with a very small margin of error! I'm feeling pretty desparate about this and have no one to confide in without them judging hubby about it. I really think God has given us this opportunity to at last get out of our persistent money problems and that hubby would be stupid to let it pass by. I feel as if my respect for him will take a nose dive if he turns down this position. I tried to tell him how the Bible requires a father to take care of his family's needs, his reply is that he won't compromise his principles and he'll try for a supermarket job to get some money! He is talking to one of the elders right now and has a meeting with the elders committee on Monday 29th. I'm really weary of this situation and just wish he would get on with it and say yes! thanks for reading this. Trying to hang on to God in the middle of all these tense discussions! Larousse

Judi: I am praying for your mother and brother, Glenn tonight. May God reach his hardened heart.

Claire: I am praying for healing for youngest son's girlfriend, and peace for the fiance in Germany. May God lightened your load!

My husband is having surgery in KY on Monday. The doctors are putting a port in his stomach to try a new dialysis treatment we can do at home. My daughter will continue to care for him and her three kids while her Army husband is gone. I am thankful for her while I am here.

Thank you God, for hearing our hurting hearts.

Praying for Glenn, and your whole family. I know how it feels to have family members far from the Lord.

I am asking for prayer for my sons. My youngest son's girlfriend has a serious diagnosis of a heart condition and my oldest son is getting married in Germany in October, but there is so much paperwork that it has his fiancée (who is German) overwhelmed. Pray for God's hand of healing and helping!

Asking prayers for my brother Glenn, who is severely depressed, had a blow-up with my mom who threatened to throw him out, and cycled through suicidal ideation this week. He is a Pagan (his nomenclature) and doesn't admit to the reality and love of Christ.

I have prayed for years, but only the Spirit can move him....

they recommend waiting 2 cycles, I would reommend getting on red raspberry leaf tea, the kind you get at a health food store, it helps to support the uterus, and make it strong, it is perfectly safe during pregnancy.

I don't know wither it is a bad thing or a good thing... but I don't feel angry with God too much. I feel like this happened for a reason. Even if I don't know what that reason is. I feel hurt... like my heart is broken.

I have to keep reminding myself that God did give me a gorgeous little girl (she is 14 months)... and my husband and I had literally just decided we wanted to try for another baby a week before I got pregnant...

I got into a car accident and was put on medication for pain... I had no idea I was pregnant and they even gave me a test (it was negative)... I think (it hasn't been confirmed) that the miscarriage was due to all the prescriptions. I don't blame myself, but there is a bit of me that would like to take it out on the stupid driver who hit me... I know God doesn't want me to be angry with them and wants me to forgive them... but its hard to forgive and forget. I had forgiven the person until I miscarried.

Now I am debating when to try again... how long was it for you? Should I do anything before trying?

girl , let me tell you I have had 2 miscarriages, my first one was when I was 19, it was my first pregnacy, and boy was I made at God!! By the time I found out I lost the baby, I was already pregnant with my son, but I didn't know, God really had his hand on me and that child, he now is 26 married and is going to go into the ministry, my second one was after my 3rd child was born, I took that one different,it waas really a healingg, God had brought back all the anger I had towards Him, and He healed me thru that, then h\He told me I would have more, I went on to have 2 more kids! It is not easy, and saying it was the best or there was something wrong, never helps, Now that one day you will see that baby, and the only comfort that will help, is crawling into the arms of your father! Even if your mad tell Him, He is big enough to handle it!

Thank you Beth... I appreciate it... Unfortunately I am in need of prayer once again... Monday I had a miscarriage. I don't even know what to say after that... I feel broken... confused... hurt... physically and emotionally in pain... and have fallen to my knees in the past few days more than in the past month... (and that is saying something).

Where do you go when you hit rock bottom other then your knees? I have no idea where to go or do next? I keep praying for peace and understanding... mainly because I have no idea what else to pray for...

If anybody has been through a miscarriage and has some words of wisdom or even just a comment I would appreciate it.

I am sorry the young women wants an abortion. We will keep her in our prayers. All children are a blessing from God and should be treated as such. :(

I will keep this situation in my prayers!

I'm sorry that your pastor is hinging your husband's ordination on his extended family. Neither of you have any control over their spirituality and IMHO should only be judged on your own walk, not theirs.

In that vein, I don't know that it will solve any purpose in confronting his family over a "job". It probably will only leave them feeling judged and angry. Rather than encouraging their heart change it probably would just encourage better play acting.

There are many people in the pews just like your husband's family. Every time they are in God's house and around God's people it's one more chance for God to change their heart. God's all about fallen people any way.

On a practical level, it may be advantageous for you guys to be in seperate churches. It sounds like this arrangement is harmful to your relationship.

The above was only offered as advice and is worth little. What you hear from God and the prayers of others is what is truly worthwhile. I will be praying that God gives you direction and peace.

Blessings,
Beth in OH

ok. So my husband is a licensed minister and is in training to become a pastor. The prayer part: My husbands family joined the same church we go to... unfortunately my husbands family is not of the best character (what I refer to as 'Sunday' Christians. Sunday they are but Monday through Saturday its God who?)they often manipulate people into thinking otherwise though. His family has caused so much problems for my husband that is has begun to wear on us. The head minister has put off ordaining my husband due his families issues... I just don't know what to do anymore. I keep praying that they will see the light and turn on their ways or that God will show the pastor what is truly going on, but I just don't know what to pray for anymore. Am I praying for the wrong things? or should I try to become more pro-active about the situation and do something? any advice or prayer would be greatly appreciated...

two requests...first..my hubby is a youth pastor so his normal day to speak is wednesday..but he will be filling in this sunday...so just pray that God uses him in a mighty way! and second..for my uncle who has undergone many struggles with cancer. to remove it this time would paralize him so he has decided to stop anymore treatments or surgeries. they've given him 6 months..he's not a believer so my hubby is going to talk to him. please pray he accepts the Lord before he goes...
thank you ladies!

I would also like you guys to pray for our church situation. My husband started a church a year ago, but we couldn't afford our payments. Our sending church is kinda in a financial bind as well. BUT God is working and we were able to join with a different church for the past couple of months, and I think we are just about able to have a down payment for a new place. Pray that all goes well.

Pooh, I love your little guy! I'm imagining that he's sitting through a no-AC service. Well we used to do that all the time. I grew up in a small town Iowa church and I can remember having church before SS, huge fans blowing from the front, hand-held fans waving frantically, Sunday evening church a little cooler maybe. How did my father preach in a suit and tie on those 90 degree days do you suppose?? Now, we'd just dress for the weather.

Pooh, I've been praying about your situation. We launched a church plant a number of years ago so I'm familiar with the headaches of not having your own building. I'm hoping that you all came up with a workable plan. Lydia

I would love for you ladies to lift up our church in prayer. We are a portable church that meets in a middle school in the county. We got notification Tuesday that we are not going to have any air conditioning for the summer!!!!! Needless to say, that has taken priority over everything. There are a few other schools we could move to, but they are not in the same area of the county that we are in. The only other alternative is to meet earlier and use lots of fans. But we have many "Seniors" and alot of kids in our church, so this does not look like a great option. The leaders are meeting this evening (Thursday) to decide on a plan of action! Please pray that they use wisdom in what they decide!

Thank you all for your prayers for my cousin's baby! I just got an email this morning. The baby has gone home, but is still going to the doctor's twice a week to have his ears drained! He is also on a "no visitor" policy so that his immune system will build back up! Thank you and continue to pray!

I'll start it off! My cousin sent me an email yesterday. They just adopted their second child a few weeks ago. They got him the day after he was born. His email informed us that they were at the hospital with him. He has a fever and is not eating, but no explanation. They are keeping him there hooked up to the IV and to monitor him. Their name is the Phelps family and the baby's name is Miller. Thank you for your prayers in adavance!

I thought maybe we should have a thread where you all can post prayer requests. If you see a prayer request, please pray and optionally if you want to let the person know you are praying, put a little post after the request.
