In the drop-down menu of the "LEARN" section of the toolbar above you will find a tab for motivation. By clicking on it, I am sure that you will find a few articles that will resonate and help you on the right path for the long-term.

Hello! I have fallen off the wagon a couple times for lack of motivation! Now during these trying times it makes it even harder. Those are some good points to do while the kids are at home but it’s hard to get them motivated as well. Electronics have taken over that generation. As long as we all remain healthy I guess that is the most important thing right now. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Welcome back, JLYNN. It doesn't matter how many times you come back - the point is, you HAVE come back.

Why did you leave the other times?

I wish you well during these trying times. I'm glad I don't have kids at home - 66yr and a grandmother. All I can suggest that that if you haven't already, ensure that you ALL (meaning kids, particularly) have routine to their day. One of my friends set up a board with time for school-work, time for play, time for eating, and down time. It seems to be working well. She is a final year student nurse with a school age child, and they were both used to a very active social life and extra curricular activities re various sports, etc.

Hi. Yes, I have heard that the third time is a charm. I have lost weight in the past to only put it back on again. I lost 132 between 2011-2012 and kept it off until last Spring. I went through hell last year and put on about 40 pounds. I am struggling to get the last 12 pounds off again. I do great, lost 11.7% in the 5% Winter challenge to put back on 4 pounds. I just ate the last of the junk in the house and I swear to get back on track eating right, and exercising even though I can't go to the pool.

I am 65 years old, and live alone. I don't have the stresses that you are facing, but I have been there. I have one son and it was like have a dozen. 43 years old and he still is the cause of my stress.

You are right. We can do this with the help of each other. I don't think I would be as sane??? as I am now if it wasn't for SP.

What are you doing for exercise? I got too use to doing my exercises in the pool because of limited mobility. I am not sure how to use resistance bands anymore. I have weights and follow Coach Nicole's videos, especially the arms and shoulders. I track my food everyday, not saying I stick to it 100% of the time.

Good luck on reaching your goals. The team is here for you if you have any questions, or just need to rant.

I love SparkPeople

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

I am responsible for my own happiness.

My name is Bonnie I live in CT DST

I went from 258 to 126 pounds and have maintained it since 12/28/12.

Too Blessed to be Stressed.

I have tried sparkpeople in the past with great success! Trying at this again. 3rd time around- 3rd times a charm, right? Looking for motivation during these new and trying times. Homeschooling 3 boys at the time, because of pandemic, and working full time becomes very challenging. I am sure numerous people on here are in the same boat. We can do this together with some positive re-enforcement and the help of each other. Good luck to all of you and lets ride this out together!
