Take this first week to familiarize yourself with the tools here. Once you get used to using them, it becomes easier to use them even when you are busy. Personally, I spent my first week learning to use the tools, and just tracking everything I was already eating and doing for exercise. It gave me a baseline to work from. It also gave me a chance to really decide what my goals were, and how to get there.

This site can only provide the support and the tools to reach these goals. You need to put the hard work in. Personally, I end up kicking my own butt every day. Feel free to check out my blogs to see how I kick my butt out the door to get my fitness in. I can tell you, once I am finished with my exercise for the day, I feel great. No more I should do this and I should do that. Instead, I feel accomplished, and able to relax and enjoy the rest of my day.

Hi Ebump and emoticon to the Spark People and the Dealing with Depression team. You are among friends here. This is a very caring and compassionate group who is willing to support you any way we can, as you find your way. I am so very sorry about your parents divorce and the ensuing emotional abuse. Depression is something that we all know well here. Lots of us take medication, just as you do. Early childhood education sounds like an exciting field of study. I wish you the best in your classes. Hey guys how is it going! I'm 19 and just started on spark people. I'm currently in school studying early childhood education. I've had depression for a long time, and I am currently on medication for it. Along with my depression I have anxiety and OCD. Not fun.My depression got worse about a year ago when my parents split up and one of them was emotionally abusing me. I also have a little separation anxiety from my boyfriend because I'm afraid everyone will leave me. But luckily he is amazing and supportive =] Message me if you ever want to talk! I love meeting new people.
